Kiss My Boots is a sexy, emotional, sophisticated second chance romance that ignites all the feels. Harper Sloan has once again slayed the romance literary world with her heartfelt swoonworthy romance as she makes readers fall in love with her prose and vulnerable down to earth characters.
"He left, and with him he took all the promises he’d ever whispered. He stole that piece inside me he had filled, and I hadn’t found a way to fix it since.”
Who doesn’t love a good second chance romance? I know, I do. Hell, it’s one of my favorite tropes. The idea of two lovers reuniting and getting that second chance to make things right is why I love reading romance novels and let me just say, Harper Sloan knows how to write an emotional and sexy second chance love story.
Quinn Davis is not your quintessential stereotypical girl next door. For one, she is a mechanic which I so applaud Harper Sloan for showcasing a heroine in a male dominated profession. She is sassy, strong willed and independent as hell and so she prefers to live a quiet life. The reason for that is she once gave her heart to a man who ended up leaving and in return gave her a broken heart.
"I pray that he can see the desperation my love for him makes me feel. The need to get as close as two people physically can is almost unbearable. What I feel— this fire burning deep in my belly— only becomes more powerful the longer I deny what I crave.”
Tate Montgomery is that man who walked away from Quinn Davis nine years ago and now he is back to win the heart of Quinn. Ladies, let me just say this cowboy will have your panties melting as he shows Quinn that she is the only one in his heart.
Quinn and Tate’s journey of reconnecting and rebuilding their relationship was truly unforgettable. This couple had my heart as everything about them felt raw, vulnerable and natural. Trust me when I tell you, it is not hard to fall and root for this couple. Yes, Tate may have walked away from Quinn nine years ago but there was a valid reason and I loved that Harper Sloan allowed readers to see both sides of the story and allowed readers to see two hearts colliding as one finally was able to let go of the walls surrounding her heart.
"He left a handsome boy and came back a devilishly hot man. His body, having always been in shape, is aged to perfection. His abs are a little more defined, his pecs even larger, and his arms that would— I’m sure— feel like steel bands when they were wrapped around you.”
Kiss My Boots is the perfect summer read as this book had everything you could of asked for. It had amazing and lovable characters, heartfelt dialogue, and a romance that was palpable from the start. The writing was beautiful as Harper Sloan allowed readers to feel for her characters as two hearts surrendered to their love for each other. So if you are looking for a sweet and heartfelt second chance romance that was brimming with so much love, passion, and emotions then I highly recommend you to read Kiss My Boots.

Quinn and Tate used to be inseparable during the summers Tate spent in Time Oak with his grandparents. First they were friends, but when they got older they became much more. When Tate left Time Oak to go to university Quinn thought they would be able to make a long distance relationship work. However, Tate abandoned Quinn and she never heard from him again. What was the reason he left her?
Quinn doesn't want to have a man in her life. Being abandoned by Tate still hurts many years later. When she finds out Tate is back in town after many years of complete silence Quinn isn't happy at all. Tate wants to have a second chance. Even though he had his reasons to leave her it doesn't mean he can convince Quinn to let him back into her life again. Will he be able to win the heart of the woman he's always loved once more?
Kiss My Boots is a great romantic story. I love reading about life in small towns. Quinn is tough and comfortable in her own skin. She owns a garage, where she works on her beloved old trucks and other cars. She's feminine, but not groomed. Her beauty is all natural and she has plenty of confidence. I liked her fierceness and her sassy attitude. She's perfect for Tate. He's a doctor with a friendly nature. He's a really good guy, he loves deeply and is willing to go far for the people he cares about. I liked that a lot about him. Quinn needs his sweetness and he needs her spark, which makes them amazing together. They have plenty of chemistry and I was curious to find out if they'd finally get their chance at happiness.
Time Oak is a wonderful setting. I loved reading about this fabulous place with its interesting inhabitants. The people are close and Harper Sloan writes about them with a lovely sense of humor. It's clear she enjoys writing about her characters very much and she makes it easy for her readers to get to know them through and through. I liked reading about Quinn and Tate. They've been through a lot and she writes about that with plenty of empathy. Their story is sexy, emotional and entertaining. I love Harper Sloan's writing style, the southern atmosphere makes it incredibly fun to read. Kiss My Boots is a hot and charming story and I liked it just as much as Lost Rider, the first book in the Coming Home series.

As I have said previously in my reviews of her books I love Harper Sloan, I have been an addict of her work from the very first time I picked up Axle and the more of her work I read the bigger my girl crush and addiction is. Kiss My Boots is the second in the Coming Home series and I loved it just as much if not more than the first.
We meet Quinn Davis in Lost Rider and I knew instantly I would love her character, she was fun, sexy, sassy, loyal, independent and wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty! The fact that Quinn wasn’t a girly girl really endeared me to her, I’m a bit of a tomboy myself so reading about one was a refreshing change of pace from some of the fashionista’s I have read about lately. After suffering through her abandonment issues at the hands of her mother she struggles to trust people, throw in the fact that she had her heart broken at such a tender age and she has more or less closed herself off to the thought of love again.
Tate Montgomery has some “splainin to do, after spending every summer since he was 11 years old in Pine Oaks he has built a relationship with Quinn and when things end he leaves her behind with unanswered questions and his own broken heart. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Tate before I started reading this book but I realised early on that he would steal my heart right along with Quinn’s.
You could tell these two had so much chemistry and unresolved feelings from the very beginning of this story. We learn through this book that things aren’t always what they seem to be and sometimes you have to sacralise the things you love for the greater good.
Kiss My Boots is a beautiful story about a couple getting their second chance at an epic love story despite the odds that were stacked against them. While there were a few similarities between this book and Lost Rider they were few and far between. I have adored this series so far and I’m excited to get my hands on Clay’s story as he is already an amazing character and I know he is just going to get better.

This was just fantastic for me. Excellent characters, great storyline, full of passionate and swoon worthy moments and a whole lot of emotion. I am loving this series! 5 stars for Kiss My Boots.
Tate and Quinn were really great characters. Tate was just so sweet and determined and I loved how he just put it all out there. Quinn was so scared of being hurt again but I really liked that she was willing to try and didn’t fight her feelings. I loved their chemistry! There was tension between the two in the beginning but I loved watching their walls come down and that tension explode into heat. I adored how they were open and honest about what they wanted with no games. That doesn't mean there wasn’t a bit of drama mixed in because there was, which made the build to them reconnecting all the more sweet. I loved learning their histories and how there were flash backs providing more depth. There were just so many wonderful details tying it all together. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I loved all the entertaining moments as well. In the middle of the emotion were all these fun scenes that made me smile. I loved that lightness that was mixed in. The play on words between Tate and Quinn had me laughing. When Leighton and Quinn get together these girls are wild and it just made me smile big time. Loved the updates on Maverick and Leighton from the first book, Lost Rider, as well, it was wonderful how that was worked into the story.
I LOVED Quinn's brothers Clay and Maverick and the family they have made for themselves. This was so much more than a beautiful romance between Tate and Quinn, it was such an deeply emotional journey for Quinn as she lets go of past hurt so she can really move on and have a future. I got choked up on several occasions!
Great writing and attention to details. Really good development and pace. Awesome build. I was just excited to read it. I loved the cowboy speak as well, that was fun. I loved the dual POVs and while I really liked Quinn, I loved Tate! He was just oh so sweet and sexy and I couldn't wait to get back to him. I thought they both had great voices.
How a book can be swoon worthy and emotional all at once I have no idea but this totally was. A fantastic second chance romance. I loved it!

Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery were childhood friends. Each summer they spend together made their feelings grow and they became each other’s first love. Nine years ago Tate left Quinn with the promise to continue their relationship and keep in contact with her. But that was the last time Quinn heard from him. Now he's back and wants Quinn back. Will Quinn accept why Tate stayed away for so many years?
I loved Kiss My Boots! This second chance romance hooked me from the first page. The story is captivating and full of emotion. It took me in a crazy ride of emotions.
Quinn Davis is a sassy, fierce, smart, and independent woman. She's a tomboy and she's proud of it. She's very loyal to her family and friends and will do anything for them. She has a lot of demons because of her past and with Tate coming back she's even more confused. Her head and her heart are at war and she doesn't know what to do.
Tate Montgomery is a sweet and charming doctor. But he can also be very protective and possessive. Nine years ago he made a decision that broke his heart: he left Quinn. But now he's back and knows he has a lot of explanations to make and a lot of groveling to do if he wants to show Quinn he wants her back and always loved her.
Kiss My Books is a brilliant book, beautifully written. The characters and the story are very relatable and hook the reader from the first page. Prepare yourself to cry, laugh and swoon with the second book in the Coming Home series by the awesome Harper Sloan!
I can't wait to read Clay's story in Cowboy Up!

Harper Sloan once again captures your heart with the newest book in her Coming Home Series. She does a great job getting into Quinn and Tate's storyline and will have you wondering what is next for them. Quinn Davis is sassy, sexy and a bad ass who will not let anyone get the best of her. Tatum Montgomery is hot, sexy and knows what he wants. With these two anything can happen and they will take you on one hell of a ride. And find out why you can "Kiss My Boots".
Quinn and Tate became friends when they were 11 yrs old and fell in love with each other when they were 18. Neither one of them was ready to let the other one go, so when Tate cut all ties his last summer in town, Quinn is left with a broken heart.
Quinn has always loved trucks and cars, so it's no surprise that she took over the family's auto shop. Everyone in town knows if you want your truck worked on, you take it to Quinn. When Tate has his grandfather's truck taken to Quinn's she knows that her world is about to be turned on its axis especially knowing that Tate is coming back and is here to stay.
Tate is back finally after 9 years and there is one thing he wants more than anything else and that's Quinn. He needs to explain to her what happened all of those years ago and win back not only her heart but her trust. When they finally realize that their feelings have never changed will they be able to give themselves the second chance they deserve?

Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan
"A country second chance romance, 5 stars"
Tate and Quinn fell for each other during the summers growing up. They started out as friends, who turned to lovers over time, only for them to be torn apart. Quinn has no idea what happened with Tate, it was like he fell off the face of the earth. But one thing was for sure, there was no other person who was meant to be hers then him. So she gave up trying, until she comes across a message from Tate about him needing some work done.
Tate has only ever loved one person, Quinn. He's had to keep his distance for her and others he cares about. Although now he doesn't have to keep his distance, the ties have been cut and he is free to return home and get the girl. He's a doctor she's a mechanic, they may be opposites, but they burn hotter then the sun. Will they finally get the happily ever after they have always wanted with each other?
I usually don't read country romances, but I am so glad I read Kiss My Boots. the conversation was funny, all the characters were on point, I loved the dynamic between Quinn and her brothers, it just hit all the points for me. It wasn't as vulgar as most of the stories I read, but it didn't take away from the story. Here are a couple quotes that stuck with me;
"It felt like my life was one giant muddin’ trail right after the rain. You know that moment when the divots are the deepest and the mud just reaches up, grabs hold of your tires, and won’t let go? You could spin those sons of bitches for hours and not get any traction. That’s where my life had been."
"I fall asleep dreaming of waterfalls and a home built with pure love that nothing in the whole world could ever tear down. I’d always thought home was a place, but he’s right : our home is right here, in each other’s arms."

Omg, Harper Sloan can really rattle my brain and slice my heart open, so much feelings..........
When Quinn gets a phone call from the one person she'd never expected to hear from again her whole world shifts. Tate once left the one girl he loves without a word, what she don't know is the reason. Now he's back to fight for their future.
The second book in this series is just as good as the first one I absolutely love the characters and adding Tate to the mix don't make it less appealing. He's strong, caring, driven and honest. His love for Quinn is undeniable and I like how considerate he is to her brothers wen he knows they do anything for her.
Quinn is a hell-raiser and want nothing to do with Tate but when she learns the truth she's forced to consider the possibility that her feelings have never changed.
The storyline is good an I like the little snippets from the past.
I like the light and fun writing style even when the topics are heavy. I laughed and I cried and enjoyed this book so much.
The characters are well described with lots of feelings so I feel like I got to know them very well.
This is a story about love that they thought was lost, but it was not at all lost. The sort of connection the author describes is never lost.
I now hope for a book about the third Davis sibling also finding his love ❤️

"Jesus Jones Tate and Quinn!!! lol
Yaaasssss...Kiss My Boots is Tate and Quinn's book!!! OMG I just loved it. If you read Lost Rider, book one, you will remember Quinn. She was Leigh's sassy as heck and such a smart mouthed BFF and Maverick's little sister. I was really excited that Quinn would get her own book!!! Woohoo It didn't disappoint.. Sooo good!!! Quinn is just as funny as heck as she was in book one and really since its all about her now...it's such a knee slapper...lmao
Anyway, a boy Quinn use to lust over when she was younger, happens to come back to town 9 years later. Of course he is all grown up, has a job as a Gynecologist and he came back to Texas to take over his fathers OBGYN practice after his dad passed away. I sit here and giggle at some of the shenanigans that happen at that practice. Bahahahaha You will just love it!!
Well Quinn is pretty mad at first when Tate comes back around. He broke her heart all those years ago when he just up and left. So Tate now has to show her he is back and he is ready to settle down, maybe pick up where they left off all those years ago. But Tate sure has a lot to prove cuz you know when a woman is scorned, it's hard to break through those thick..thick walls!
I gave this book 5 Stars. Make sure you pick it up and find out how Tate wins Quinn back!! : )

As I mentioned in my review about the first Coming Home book, I only bought #1 & 2 because I wanted to read #3 and I like reading whole series.
The first book was a bit of a letdown. This is awful. The only positive aspect I'll give it is the romance.
Now, listing the cons:
* the plot is the same as book 1.
* the characters spend most of the book internal-monologuing about trusting each other, like book 1.
* there are no actual issues - every problem is solved with a quick conversation.
* there is almost an entire chapter dedicated to how a car symbolizes the relationship - by this point, the relationship is already established.
* Tate's father, who's meant to be a guy who thinks he's better than others and wants to be high class or whatever, uses terrible language to talk about women and while I understand he's a mysoginistic mean man, the way he refers to them shows that the writer forgot what his personality is meant to be (not that high class people can't use foul language, but I thought the entire dialogue was ridiculously forced).
* Quinn is absolutely deplorable. She continually states how she was brought back to life by Tate, how empty she felt without him, how meaningless her life was until he was back... while all the first book in the series she's shown as a strong, independent woman. I get that you want to show how men can make you whole (and she can make Tate whole too), but in the ended she sounded like a baby who couldn't find any form of happiness if it didn't come from Tate. At least, Leighton had her PieHole and had some form of independence and happiness before Maverick showed up.
This book is a disappointment. I'll read the third one because it's already bought and because it's the only one that *appears* to have a plot, but I'm already sure I'm never reading anything from this author again.

This is fun and flirty, low angst second chance book. I am absolutely in love with this Davis clan. They’ve been through so much but in the end nothing is more important than family. And who wouldn’t want Mav and Clay as big brothers. They’re protective, caring and supportive.
Harper hit the mark when she wrote these sexy cowboys. Tatum Montgomery is something else. My heart broke for what he had to give up protecting his heart. But then fate stepped in and gave him that second chance he needed. That man had me swooning.
Then there’s spunky Quinn Davis. That girl is exactly what her given nickname is, badass-hell raiser. She’s coming into her own. Facing her past, letting go and moving on. And who better to help her then Tate.
Together these two are finding their way back to each other.
The story was fluffy with little drama. It was a sweet and sexy romance. I loved these characters. They were real. They made you laugh and just put a damn smile on your face.
I look forward to the brooding Clay. I can’t wait to see what woman knocks him on his ass.

“Quinn, the hell-raisin’ badass is back, and Tate Montgomery can kiss my boots.”
I really wanted to love this story, but unfortunately, it was just okay for me. It felt like your typical girl and boy have grown up together, boy leaves girl behind but is now back after many years and they both go around about their feelings for each other before they finally fall in line.
been there, done that…many times over.
What I did like
The Cover is beautiful! Most of the time, I am not a big fan of people on covers but I just loved this one and thought it actually fit the book quite well.
Quinn was a great female lead. I loved the fact that she was tomboyish and worked on cars like a grease monkey. But also had a soft side and could drive the boys wild.
The setting of the south was perfect and I loved the southern lingo. I found myself reading the story in my mind like a typical southern belle.
The side characters were a hoot and a half, especially Jana. I loved every time she talked about a vagina and the names they came up with…laugh out loud hilarious!
The above mentions were enough to keep me reading until the end. Not sure if maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this type of read? But I just wanted so much more from this book. It seemed too easy, the story line just kind of fell into place. I wanted something gritty. But what I got was an easy love story wrapped up in a nice neat package.

***4 ‘Starch & Grease’ Stars***
I have to say that I went in to Kiss My Boots expecting something different than what I got, but I ain’t mad about it at all. It was a fun, quick read that leaned more towards the open and honest then closed off and broody and I found myself eating up every word until the very end.
O.M.G.Tate! This man, I swear is just all kinds of goodness. The bottomline with him is that he man’s up. He isn’t perfect, he knows exactly what his faults are, but he puts it all out there and it’s up to you to either believe what he’s putting down or not. Quinn. This girl. Those who know her best call her ‘H*$^-Raiser’ and she most definitely is, but then things go a little sideways and you see that vulnerable side she does her best to hide and she actually becomes more approachable and makes it so much easier to see her heart.
So, I stated that this book went in a different direction than I expected and I honestly thought Tate and Quinn’s second chance romance would be a lot more angsty and it wasn’t. There was hesitation, there was a bit of not believing that things could work out, but it was in no way OTT. Tate and Quinn actually approached things like adults...well, for the most part...and were quite transparent (even when they didn’t want to be) with their feelings and it just made it so easy to see why they should be together when everything was said and done.
As much as I loved Tate and Quinn, I can’t deny that Mav, Leigh and Clay were huge factors in my overall enjoyment of this book, as well as a few other characters who played small but significant parts in the story *cough* Jana and Mark *cough* They made it fun and believable and kept things real and on the level, especially where Quinn was concerned. Kiss My Boots was a fun, low on the angst, smexy character driven romance and I am looking forward to diving into Clay’s book!

SHORT REVIEW
Kiss My Boots is a gorgeous portrayal of long lost love and reconciliation. Harper Sloan creates vivid characters that find their way to your heart, and I will think of them long after my reading of Kiss My Boots.
FULL REVIEW
Harper Sloan is a master of erotic romance, but I continue to read her work due to her realistic and admirable characters. I started The Coming Home Series with Lost Rider, and I knew that I had to continue the series.
Kiss My Boots is the second novel in The Coming Home Series and it follows Quinn, the youngest Davis sibling. Quinn hasn’t found a serious relationship since her first love, Tate Montgomery, due to the heartbreak that his leaving caused. However, nine years later Tate resurfaces in the small town of Pine Oak, Texas and changes Quinn’s life forever.
Quinn is not your stereotypical romance heroine – a gorgeous, girly woman who melts at the touch of her man’s hands – and I really appreciated that. Instead, Quinn is a tomboy who loves working on cars and trucks more than anything, while also having a feisty attitude that relates her well to rebel girls. When Tate came back to town looking to have his Pa’s truck rebuilt by Quinn, Quinn did not immediately fall into his arms. Instead, she held onto the heartache that he caused years earlier, and she made him work for her trust again.
Like many of Sloan’s books, the erotic scenes in Kiss My Boots were classy and gorgeous, while also being few and far between. The romance plot took up most of the novel, and that made it clear to me that Sloan did not rely on erotic scenes to entrance readers. The chemistry she created between Tate and Quinn was inspiring and I rooted for them to work out.
However, the best part of Kiss My Boots is how well Sloan connected Maverick and Leighton (from Lost Rider) into the storyline. Even though Kiss My Boots mainly focuses on Quinn, Sloan kept Leighton and Quinn’s friendship strong. The change in perspective was seamless, and I enjoyed watching both couples grow. The support of the eldest Davis sibling, Clayton, was also admirable and added an extra spark to the story.
Overall, Kiss My Boots is a rich addition to The Coming Home Series. I liked it even more than Lost Rider! Apart from a few spelling and grammar errors, the editing of the novel was satisfactory, and I can’t wait to dive into the third installment of the series – Cowboy Up!

Kiss My Boots is the second book in the incredible Coming Home series by bestselling author Harper Sloan. This is an amazing story about a second chance romance that will definitely steal your heart! With complex characters you can't help but love, hilarious banter, crazy antics, drama, and lots of twists and turns, this emotional roller-coaster of a story will capture you right from the start, and not let go until long after the last word is read. A fantastic book, and a definite must read series.
Tate Montgomery met the girl who stole his heart years ago, but due to his father's malicious ways, he was forced into a life that his parents had planned out for him, and he had no choice but to let her go. As soon as he was certain that his father had no more control, he was determined to find out if they still had a chance at what was stolen from them.
Quinn Davis is the youngest of the Davis siblings, and although her brothers did everything they could to protect her, she still feels the abandonment of their mother, the cruelty of their father, and the broken heart that has never mended when Tate disappeared from her life without a word. Running their automotive shop, the last thing she ever expected was for the man who stole her heart to return to town, and want her to restore his grandfather's old truck. She's definitely not prepared for the chemistry between them to be just as strong as it was the last time they saw one another.
Not one to take things lying down, Quinn demands an explanation of why he left without a word, but is she really prepared to hear the truth of what his father had done? Will it be enough for her to forgive him? Is she willing to see if there's still something special between them? Have they changed too much over the last several years, and can only end up as friends? Will either be able to get the HEA that they want, deserve, and that was stolen from them? You're going to have to read this to find out, but you won't be disappointed!
If you haven't read this series, I highly suggest that you start from the beginning. Each can be read as a stand alone, but you will get so much more out of the series by reading them in order. You'll find stories that will bring out a wide range of emotions, be able to learn about each couple, the horrific childhood the Davis siblings survived, and the dynamics between them all. This is one series that you certainly won't want to miss!
I strongly recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

>>>>>> My Synopsis (Review Follows): <<<<<<
Tate Montgomery gave his heart away years ago and never took it back. His parents had big plans for him, and the life he wanted wasn't on their agenda. Neither was the girl he planned to marry. So they did what they thought was best and forced him to do what they wished. Their plan worked for years until they had no way of holding him back anymore. Now he's going back to the only place that has ever felt like home and hoping it's not too late to reclaim what he lost...
Quinn 'Q' Davis has been through a lot in her life and to say she is relationship shy would be an understatement. Her mother up and left when she was too small to really remember her, her father was far from being father of the year, and her first romantic relationship left her inwardly scarred with trust issues. She just doesn't do relationships. Tate will have his hands full trying to win her back.
>>>>>> My Review: <<<<<<
This was the second story in Harper Sloan's Coming Home series. It can be read as a standalone, but you may wish to read 'Lost Rider' first. Quinn and Leighton are best friends, and in the first book you get a nice view of the inner workings of their friendship and how they support one another. It will also give you a nice glimpse inside the Davis family dynamics and history.
Quinn is a mechanic who has taken over the managing of her family auto repair shop, the such shop within a fifty mile radius. She knows her way around a car, and it earned her the nickname 'Grease' from Tate. That was fine with her, she gave him the nickname 'Starch' due to the fact his parents were hoping to transform Tate into a high-society snob who wore starched shirts everyday. The two have known each other for years and every summer when he'd come to visit his grandparents they couldn't be kept apart. They were like two peas in a pod. That ended nine years ago when Tate left and never came back. No explanations, no returned phone calls, and no word.
I wasn't immediately sold on Tate. I liked his determination and single mindedness when it came to Quinn, but his treatment of Ella left me with reservations. Once explained, I could understood Tate's abrupt departure from Quinn's life all those years ago, but it just seemed like he should have somehow clued her in to what had happened. The timing could not have been worse.
Tate is a tall drink of water. He became a successful doctor, a gynecologist, having followed in his grandaddy's footsteps, but took the path his parents laid out for him. Unfortunately for them, you can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy. He became what they wanted which was everything he did not. The minute he could (believe me it's complicated), he hightailed it back to Pine Oak to try to pick up the pieces he left behind.
Overall, I gave this one 4 out of 5 roses. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. I liked the way Quinn handled things and made him work for her affections which seemed only right. She had a lot of issues, most stemming from her parents, which she had to work through before she could fully give her heart. I have to admit the parents in these books are atrocious, but I like the underlying message that permeates through the series--we are not our parents and we can choose who we wish to become. On the Lisarenee Romance Rating Scale, this one earned a SHOWER rating--a cold shower is necessary (need I say more?). Some books should come with a warning - make sure your significant other is handy or your shower is in working order. lol

AudioBook Review:
Stars: Overall 4 Narration 5 Story 4
Second chances are the highlight of this series: coming home to the place that provided your happy moments, reconnecting with people and loves from years past. Harper Sloan delivers all of those moments: the insecurity, facing old issues and making amends, all wrapped up in a story that is hard to put down. Never an easy road, there is drama and baggage to overcome, but the journey and years past are all well worth the wait. This is Quinn and Tate’s story: she’s lived in Pine Oak quietly: avoiding too much drama and watched over by her brothers who keep most suitors at bay. A tomboy, she’s most comfortable setting her own boundaries and making decisions, and staying away from entanglements. Tate has returned to Pine Oak for a fresh start – he’s got many happy memories of summers spent at his grandparent’s farm, and perhaps reconnecting with the girl he left behind after life intervened.
Oh the drama here! Perfectly delicious as both Tate and Quinn have that electric chemistry that can’t be denied, even as she’s determined to NOT let him in or close. And he thought, perhaps, he could live with that, until she kept appearing in his mind: everything around town is reminding him of those early years, that first love. And theirs won’t be an easy journey: from old issues and questions to new reasons to question the new relationship, these two are growing and changing (and regressing) in almost every interaction. And when they finally talked, openly, about the past - - - NOTHING was going to stop these two. Heart, humor, emotion and plenty of heat all come into play as we get to know these characters and see how they each fit together – Quinn fills a hole in Tate’s heart that is only meant for her – and together they are more of themselves in all the best ways.
Narration for this story is brought by Elizabeth Louise and Jason Carpenter: and as a duo these two are wonderful: perfect timing in fast-paced interactions, emotions and concerns clearly arriving in the performance that allow readers to feel the chaos and turmoil without having it described. Both manage to separate their characters from secondary appearances, and each character arrives with an attitude and clear tone that hints to the words to come. Dual narrations can be tricky in terms of pacing and clarity – no such issues exist here: you could be listening to much of their dialogue on the street and know, from the presentation, tone and delivery just what each character was feeling. Another wonderful story in this series, best read in order to get some background on Quinn, know the secondary characters and just enjoy a few hours of romantic escapism.
I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Simon and Schuster Audio for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Kiss My Boots is the second installment in the amazing Coming Home series. This is a second chance romance, a trope that I absolutely love, aside from the enemy-to-lovers theme. I truly love when characters are given a chance to re-do their lives, mend their broken hearts, correct the mistakes of their youth by choosing a different path in life, a better one, and embrace a happy ending that should have been theirs in the first place.
The story follows Quinn Davis (Maverick’s sister from book one) and Tate Montgomery. These two met when they were eleven years old and became inseparable until the age of eighteen. Every summer when Tate was there in the little town of Pine Oaks, Texas to visit his grandparents, he was the one who filled a void in Quinn’s life. While they could not have come from more completely different lives, their friendship naturally evolved into a romantic attachment that only grew in intensity as they became older. They were each other’s firsts and their love was all consuming and unbreakable. Forever promises were made, but one day, with no explanation and no goodbye, Tate left and broke Quinn’s heart in the process leaving her devastated.
Nine years, that’s how long it has been since Quinn and Tate have seen one another. Quinn moved on with her life and thought she was finally over it. She is now a mechanic and the owner of a car shop. Quinn is this strong, independent, and feisty woman that has taken some hits but keeps going. She enjoys her simple life and loves taking care of her cars and spending time with her two overprotective brothers, Clayton and Maverick and her best friend Leighton. That is until Tate Montgomery returns and tugs on her heart strings all over again. The intense feelings she had buried deep inside rise up and refuse to go away.
Blackmailed, forced to stay away and to cut off contact with Quinn, Tate had no choice then, but to sacrifice his happiness by leaving the woman he loved behind. He finished school, started his career and became a successful gynecologist, and went through the motions of his life. But now things have changed, Tate doesn’t have anything standing in his way. He wants Quinn back. He wants to give them back what was stolen from them all those years ago.
But will the truth cause Quinn to hate him more for not fighting for their chance then, or will it change everything and make her look at the whole situation and Tate in a different light?
Loved Quinn and Tate! Both great characters and they had so much chemistry, history, love, passion and friendship. They were perfectly matched in every possible way and I truly enjoyed the way they loved one another. In the style that I have come to expect and love, Harper Sloan has once again written a story full of depth, emotion, humour, and her trademark, awesome secondary characters that give an ever-greater dimension to the story. The bottom line is that with this author you always get the real deal. Can’t wait to read Clayton’s story. He's been my favorite from the start and I just know it’s gonna be worth the wait!

The Coming Home series has brought us another second chance love. This one follows Quinn, sister to Maverick from the first book. You don't have to read the first book to enjoy this one, but it does have Maverick, Leigh and Clay in both books and you do get the continuation of Maverick and Leigh's story.
The Davis siblings all suffer from the abandonment of their mother and the cruelty of their father who has since passed. Add to this, Quinn's first and only love stopped all communication with her with out a single explanation when they were younger. Her sense of abandonment just grew when the only boy she has ever loved could be so callous. 9 years later and she still hasn't been able to properly move on from Tate and now she finds out he's moving back.
Second chance romances are not one of my favorite tropes usually because of the reason for the separation. In this case, Harper Sloan provided us a Hero that sacrificed his relationship to protect her and others he loved. Now that is something I can get on board for.
I'm enjoying this series and I love the characters but I will admit that Quinn was a hard character for me to connect with. She's a female mechanic and a strong female character but her cowboy language did tend to come off overly dramatic at times. Still a great story.
I loved seeing these two work it out with out any crazy other woman drama. It had the potential of going there and I like that the author toned down what could have been major drama when a previous hook up didn't want to let him go. Provided by NetGalley.

Jesus Jones! Tate Montgomery is my new book boyfriend. He is so swoon worthy. I fell in love with him immediately. After being away for 9 years, he has come back to claim the love of his life. Will it be to late?
Quinn Davis, full of sass, is a mechanic in her family shop. Her worlds stops on its axis when she receives the call to work on Tate's grandfather's truck. No contact for nine years, and now he calls. Will she be able to face him again?
I fell in love with Tate and Quinn immediately. Who falls in love with the love of their life at such a young age? After being away for so long, Tate has a lot of things to prove. Will he be able to earn her trust again? Better yet, will he be able to convince her brothers he is here to stay?
This is a must read. I love Harper Sloan and her work. Kiss My Boots is no different. The storyline and characters are brilliant.

"The Ghost of Heartbreak Past apparently is back in Pine Oak.
Tatum Montgomery.
Jesus Jones."
Oh, my heart!!!
Friends to lovers.
First love lost.
This book had so much that captures my heart and attention!
Quinn has lived many years never really getting over her first love, first heartbreak. But with the notification that he's coming back for good, she has a hard time facing him once again.
But he doesn't exactly make it easier for her either.
Tate is now able to claim what's always been his...Quinn. After years of sacrifice, he's ready to get the one girl that's always owned his heart back for good. When the truth behind his years away coming out in the open, will he be able to get her back?
"I think it's time I stop lettin' what happened years ago stand in the way of me livin'."
"What I did marked you."
"Marked you too, honey."
This book was full of emotion, laughter, family, and friendship.
The flashbacks made my heart flutter, and the way they worked through their pasts is something wonderful.
They say you can't go home again, but Tate does, and it's a ride of a lifetime.
Quinn gives him hell and he gives it right back.
The bickering mixed with their deep love is perfection to me.
"You finally know the man I am now?"
"I'd know him anywhere."
"You givin' him your forever?"
"God, yes."
"Never, Quinn. I'll never spend another day without you in it. You hear me? I'll spend every day makin' up for the time we lost. That pain will never touch you again."
Can I just live inside this story? I could picture every single detail.
From their reunion, the auto shop Quinn works, the farm, Homer and Bertha (you'll see;)), and every single word spoken. Yes I could picture their faces saying everything. That's vivid this book is!
Harper Sloan is one of my favorites for a reason!
The stories she writes and the words she weaves are perfection to me!!
Now that I've had Maverick and Quinn Davis...I need me some Clay!! Because I have a feeling the oldest Davis sibling will have the greatest story of all<3
Wonderful read!!
"It's our time now, Tate. And anyone dumb enough to try and stand in our way can just Kiss My Boots."

Kiss My Boots
By: Harper Sloane
??⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️??
Second Chances could lead to Forever!
Kiss my boots is book two and a perfect Coming home/Second Chance Book that follows Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery. Childhood friends and teenage lovers, separated by circumstances beyond their control and the people that control the strings of life.
Tate finally has the opportunity to return to Pine Oak and try to get back the woman that he loves. Quinn's world turns upside down the minute she hears that voice on the phone. Now he's coming back to town...this can't be happening. Right? Or could it but Quinn is definitely not ready for the emotions she if feeling.
Tate has his work cut out for him. Not only does he have to worry about winning Quinn back, but there are her brothers and her best friend Leigh. Add continuing the medical practice that his grandfather ran in town and Tate has a very full plate.
Maverick and Leigh as well as Clay will be around to help Quinn and Tate when pride is set aside. There are ups and downs throughout the book. Harper Sloan does an amazing job in letting us into the minds of both Tate and Quinn writing in dual POV my personal favorite. She’ll of course bring all the emotions and laughs as well in this incredibly relatable and oh so swoon inducing book that will have the tears running and you hoping that Quinn and Tate get there Happily ever after.
Thanks to Netgally for letting me read and review!!!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in The Coming Home series from Harper Sloan, and while I did read the first you can definitely read this as a stand alone. I loved the first book, and this one did not disappoint. The main characters Tate and Quinn have amazing chemistry together, and I just love that Quinn is not your typical southern female. She is strong (er than she knows), she is full of sass, she is independent, but also vulnerable and cautious. Tate is someone that at first you want to hate, but he redeems himself over and over as the two rekindle their friendship and relationship. There are moments in the book that made me angry, made me tear up a little, and made me laugh and while reading I didn't want to put this book down.
The author does a great job looping in the secondary characters and you get to know them a bit more as this story unfolds. As I mentioned, this can certainly be read as a standalone however if you want to know the details of some of the other characters as well as some additional feedback on Quinn, definitely read book 1. I can't wait to read the third installment of this series.

“Quinn, the hell-raisin’ badass is back, and Tate Montgomery can kiss my boots.”
This series is EVERYTHING!! Kiss My Boots can be read as a standalone but if you want the full Coming Home series ‘s experience, I recommend that you read the Lost Rider.
I fell in love with this series and the Davies’s family when I read the Lost Rider and Kiss My Boots did not disappoint!
I couldn't tear my eyes away from the pages, I was enthralled not only in this second chance story but also in the story of the Davies’s clan. I loved everything about the story, the action, the heat, the trust, the other characters, the emotions, the humour … EVERYTHING! Raw, real and brutally honest, Quinn and Tate's story is about life altering moments, and finding your happily ever after ... it is about taking that leap of faith…
“He taught me trust. He showed me love. Then he gave me pain.”
Nine years ago Tate left after his summer holidays at his grandparents… since the age of 11, his routine was spending his summer with his friend and first LOVE, Quinn Davies. However, after making promises, nine years ago, he stopped coming back, stopped emailing, texting and calling. What happened? Why did he leave Quinn after promising her FOREVER?
Nine years later, Starch is back and he wants to win back his Grease …
“The Ghost of Heartbreak Past apparently is back in Pine Oak. Tatum Montgomery. Jesus Jones.”
Tate and Quinn are PERFECT for each other- they are endearing and honest. I honestly do not know how Harper Sloan does it but once again, she takes you by the hand and walks you through their story as you watch them hurdle obstacles and cry at their heartbreak. I had high expectations because, as I said I loved Lost Rider so much- I knew it was going to be good but it took me by surprise with just how in depth the story goes and just how perfect and swoon-worthy Tate is … and Clay … and Maverick!
Quinn is my favourite female heroine- she is so strong, witty and vulnerable. When she is with Leighton, their relationship makes me smile so much as it is so real and sincere.
“I live in a world where Quinn Davis very much exists, erasing any possibility of any other perfect woman existing for me, ever.”
Thank you Harper Sloan for giving us more about Leighton and Maverick – It was pure bliss.
I was completely sucked in to the very end!!! I FREAKING LOVE this book!!
By the way, BEST EPILOGUE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
“We’re on the cusp of adulthood, old enough to understand our hearts are connected so powerfully, you can almost feel them nestling close together, beating as one.”

ARC provided by the publisher via Ink Slinger PR in exchange for an honest review.
Holy moly, this series just keeps getting better and better with every book! I am sure most of you know my love for all things Harper Sloan (her incredibly awesome characters get me every single time!). So, as you can imagine, I am definitely not surprised that I loved her newest release.
Kiss My Boots is the second installment in the Coming Home series and if you have read the first book you know they are about three siblings who had a difficult past and now it's time for them to find their happily ever after. This is Quinn's time and this second chance romance love story is everything I expected and more! Quinn and Tate were in love when they were very young but Tate had to leave and now he is back to get what he loves most: his girl.
He taught me trust.
He showed me love.
Then he gave me pain.
OH MY GOD. The chemistry between these two! I am a sucker for second chance romances and this was not an exception! I always fall in love with Harper's outstanding chracters and let me tell you, Tate and Quinn will steal your heart. They are so funny, hot and they will make you feel all the feels! Their love story is absolutely beautiful and I loved connecting this much with these characters!
“It’s not a lifetime, Quinn. Nothin’ will ever keep me from you. If you love me even a sliver as much as I love you, then a few years apart will just make us stronger. There’s never been anyone else for me, and darlin’, there never will be.”
What I always love about family books is the strong relationship between the characters. The Davis' siblings have the most heart warming connection you can ever imagine. Quinn adores her brothers and they will do absolutely everything to make her feel saved and loved. But, of course, now she also has a hunk of a man to do that. Tate is a fantastic hero, willing to do anything to get Quinn back and boy.. in what ways he gets her back! The chemistry is incredibly hawt and they gave us many sexy and also emotional moments.
Words aren’t needed when I lay her down on the bed, worship her body, and show her with every part of my body just how loved she is—as we come together.
Therefore, my rating for Kiss My Boots is 5 STARS because who complains about a book that made you connect extremely well with the characters and made you feel all the feels with the beautiful relationship it portrays! I love western romances and Quinn and Tate brought me so much happiness with their love story. I can't wait to read Clay's story (it sounds SO good!). Highly recommend this one!

This is the second of this series focusing on Pine Oak, Texas with the theme of coming home. This time Tate Montgomery is coming back to take over the farm and medical practice of his grandfather. He used to spend his summers there, and fell in love with Quinn Davis. Their love blossomed from friendship to more and they thought they would have forever. But the last time he left at the end of summer, he did not return.
Nine years have now passed. Quinn is a feisty, stubborn, tomboy mechanic running her own family's business. She is also guarded, lonely, and has abandonment issues. Her family history left its own set of scars on her and Tate left her broken-hearted. So she does not do relationships. She is surrounded now by her two older and protective brothers, Maverick and Clay. When she catches wind that Tate is returning, she is overwhelmed, anxious, and angry. She is mad at him for disappearing and leaving her, and angry at herself for still having a reaction to him and caring.
Tate had his reasons for not coming back and losing touch, but he never forgot Quinn. He lived a different life in the city and did what he needed to do, but did not really get involved. He has secrets and confessions that he wants to share. But first he is going to have to get the hell-raiser Quinn to settle down and give him a chance to explain and a chance to win back her trust and heart. And Quinn has to decide if she is going to cowgirl up, forgive him, and give him a second chance.
Much Like Maverick and Leighton from Lost Rider, they are two people who just fit together and have not really felt whole since being apart. But there is a lot of hurt and fear still lurking. She needs Tate to be willing to fight for her this time. They will have to get to know each other all over again and make new memories to accompany the old ones. They are two people who have just been living in survival mode and need to learn to truly feel and live again. But they also have to learn to trust and forgive, and fight for what they want and need.
This is a story of hope, forgiveness, healing, and true love that was challenged by time, distance, and opposition. It is funny, sweet, passionate, and emotional, but not too angsty. Both Quinn and Tate are likable and well developed. It is told in mostly Quinn's point of view, with some in Tate's and there are also flashbacks. It flowed easy and it was fun returning to this town. I loved Tate's devotion and protectiveness, and Quinn is as strong as she is sassy. But she does have some demons to overcome. The side characters of Maverick, Leighton, and Clay are all back as well as some of the other townies. I love the relationship between Quinn and her brothers and her best friend, Leighton. They all have been through so much but are there for each other. Their family truly does make their home. I am looking forward to seeing Clay find his own love in Cowboy Up.

You never forget your first love. Teenage love is so carefree and easy. It’s like walking around with rose coloured glasses on and if feels like the rest of the world should be singing along to the same tune.
This was true for Quinn and Tate when they first fell in love. Every summer Tate spent six weeks working at his grandparents farm and all his down time was dedicated to Quinn. As far as they were concerned they were going to be together forever. They had their future mapped out until they didn’t.
One moment they were making plans for a future together and then all of a sudden Tate cut Quinn from his life and never returned to Pine Oak. Quinn was left absolutely devastated and has had to live with never having closure or answers she needed from Tate. After going through all the stages of relationship break up grief, she had a bit of a ‘wild child’ period in her life and then swore off love and men for good.
‘Quinn, the hell-raisin’ badass is back, and Tate Montgomery can kiss my boots.’
Quinn now runs the local garage and loves restoring old cars to their former glory. She is an A-grade mechanic and loves to spend hours tinkering on engines. She has three older brothers who are fiercely protective of her and her best friend Leighton is married to one of them. Needless to say, she has a very tight family circle around her. This is a good thing because Tate Montgomery is on his way back to town.
Tate hasn’t been back in Pine Oak for nine years. His grandparents have now passed away and he is returning to take ownership of their home. Tate is also taking over his Paw’s old position as the new town doctor, specialising in gynaecology. It was always his dream to work in medicine, just like his Paw and everything just seems to be falling into place for him now. Well apart from one thing, he wants to get back the woman he has always loved – Quinn.
When Quinn gets word of Tate’s return she is determined to just get on with things, so what if he is back, she is well over any feelings she may have had nine years ago. Famous last thoughts though….. the minute these two are in each other’s company all bets go out the window, all those feelings they had years ago come hurtling back into their minds and hearts but more magnified than ever.
‘You scare me more than a rattlesnake about to strike,’ I whisper. ‘Right down to my marrow, Tate Montgomery.’
Tate needs to come clean about what happened and why he broke Quinn’s heart, however first he has to get through the wall of Davis brothers and take a few hits. Why would they ever trust Tate with Quinn’s heart when he has proven to be unworthy of it? Tate is prepared to fight for what he loves, what he has always believed they both deserved their happy ever after together.
This was a low angst, sweet country love story.

KISS MY BOOTS is the second installment in Harper Sloan’s contemporary, adult COMING HOME erotic, romance series focusing on the Davis siblings: Maverick, Quinn and Clayton Davis. This is auto mechanic Quinn Davis, and physician Tate Montgomery’s story line. KISS MY BOOTS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person points of view (Quinn and Tate) including some memories of the past, KISS MY BOOTS is a second chance romance between auto mechanic Quinn Davis, and ob-gyn Tate Montgomery. Nine years earlier Tate Montgomery walked out of Quinn’s life leaving a heartbroken woman to struggle with the how and whys. Tate and Quinn were childhood friends, summer lovers and in love; planning a future together as Tate prepared for medical school but within days all traces of Tate disappeared while Quinn struggled to move on with her life. Fast forward to present day wherein Quinn is now the successful owner of the family run garage, and Tate Montgomery has returned to Pine Oak Texas, looking for a new start and a second chance with the woman he has always loved. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Tate and Quinn as our couple come face to face with demons from their past.
Nine years ago Tate Montgomery left Quinn Davis for Atlanta, Georgia on his way to a promising medical career but in doing so left behind his heart and his soul destroying the woman with whom he promised a happily ever after. Tate was not a hometown boy but a young man who spent his summers in Pine Oak, Texas at his grandparents home, where falling in love with Quinn was immediate and fated. Quinn Davis’s life was never the same when the man that she loved refused to acknowledge her existence; refusing to move forward Quinn would never find love knowing that her heart belonged to a man who no longer cared. With issues of abandonment, the fall out of Tate’s disappearance sent Quinn into a darkness that continues to present day.
The relationship between Quinn and Tate is one of second chances; a love that never waivered in spite of the circumstances and disappearance of Tate from Quinn’s life. Their rekindling romance is met with very little resistance as Tate explains the who, what and why of his years of silence. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Maverick and Leigh (Lost Rider #1), eldest brother Clayton Davis, Tate’s friend Mark Blake; an assortment of office staff and nosey townsfolk. The Davis sibling’s relationship is very close; a tight knit family of brothers and sister whose lives were destroyed by secrets, lies and betrayal, and a father who struggled with his own personal demons.
KISS MY BOOTS is a story of romance and love; of second chances; of one man’s need to atone for sins of the past. The premise is engaging and heartwarming; the romance is edgy and emotional; the characters are animated and passionate. KISS MY BOOTS is a wonderful and energetic addition to Harper Sloan’s romantic, cowboy series COMING HOME.

KISS MY BOOTS is a wonderful and energetic addition to Harper Sloan’s romantic, cowboy series COMING HOME.

First of all, HELLO DOCTOR JONES!!!! #HotDocAlert
Since Lost Rider come out I’ve been looking forward to know all about the rest of the Davis brothers, so I could get my hands – or eyes, lol – fast enough on this one!
Kiss My Boots was an emotional and sexy second chance story where we see Tate Montgomery and Quinn Davis trying to find their path back together, after nine years of separation.
Before starting the book, and after reading about Quinn’s ‘take no prisoners’ and ‘Hell-raiser’ attitude in the first book, I really thought Tate would have a grovel of epic proportions in his future, not only towards his woman, but also her overprotective siblings. Well, color me blind, because Harper Sloan totally turned the table on us, with Tate’s confession and explanation of all the reasons for which he had to stay away from the one he thought to be his whole future.
His early explanation, along with the entire characters enlightenment, made, in my opinion, a bittersweet change to the story. Yes, it was undoubtably refreshing that us as readers don’t have to go the whole book wondering, or even Quinn herself, but it stole the thunder of a potentially emotional confrontation, and dynamic that would give us an extra kick to their love story. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this early development, but my wandering mind questions if I would have liked it even more if it came further on. Guess we’ll never know, lol… One thing I can say, I loved his honesty, and willfulness to lay all cards on the table and fight for his love.
Tate really was an amazing main male character. Swoon-worthy and devoted, smoking hot with a delicious dirty taking, and absolutely head over heels for his hell-raising cowgirl. Yes, I understood his situation for the clean break up, but it could have been another way to do it without the disappearing act that shattered Quinn’s heart. So no one was more surprised than him, to see that he didn’t have to fight so hard for her love, but I adored he was prepared to grovel with the best of them.
Yep, if you follow my reviews, you already know my dislike of the use of expression ‘always loved you, and never stop loving you’ when we are discussing a separation were there have been others. It’s a second chance but I don’t want to think ‘if you never stopped loving’ why did you sleep with others. I just don’t want to feel the emotions cheappened by the constant declaration of endless love, much less if deep down you hope one day, and that was the case apparently, according to his thoughts, to be back to fight for that love, when in fact you ended up sleeping with others. You know how anal I am about these things, so picky b!tch’s rant over! LOL
Nonetheless, if that was hadn’t been so confirmed, and evident, even by the OW drama, I have no doubt I would have rated the book higher, because from the moment Tate step foot in Pine Oaks, his actions were perfection (ok, maybe I would have preferred he was the one confronting the crazy, lol, though I totally get why Harper wrote it that way)! And like you see above, they basically had no hope – she, even more than him – to ever get back together. They never expected Fate worked to their favor!
Quinn, the ‘Hell Raiser’ sure lived up to her nickname – though like I said, was even hoping for more, where Tate was concerned – in her badass attitude, specially when put together with her BFF, Leighton. Man those two were hilarious!
These secondary characters were incredible, and I can’t express how amazing it was to get even more of Maverick and Leighton’s story here. I can express how much I loved to see their HEA on the making, and their weeding scene made me teary with how touching it was!
OMG, and now, the only remaining Davis, is the man I’ve been craving to know more about. My favorite of the siblings, Clayton! You know how much I love a silent and broody type! I’m dying to read his book, I need his story STAT! <3 <3 <3 <3

Kiss My Boots is a standalone second chance romance, but I’d read Lost Rider first to get a background story. Lost Rider is awesome anyways so it would not be a hardship. The heroine Quinn is Leigh’s bestie in Lost Rider. I was intrigued by her sassy, funny, and fierce personality so I am glad Quinn has her own story.
Quinn and Tate grew up together, friends turned young lovers. The summer before Tate went away for college their relationship turned serious. They shared one unforgettable summer together with promises for the future and happily ever after. However, after Tate took off for college he suddenly cut all ties with the girl he left behind. Quinn was confused and hurt. She tried to contact Tate but with no luck. Eventually, Quinn had to move on with her life but Tate was never far away from her heart. Nearly a decade later, Quinn heard that Tate was moving back home to be the town’s only gynecologist - she was less than thrilled. Quinn does not want anything to do with Tate, let alone scoping out her private parts (That ship had sailed). Tate has other ideas though - he is determined to win back the love of his life but it won’t be easy. Tate has a lot of explaining and groveling to do.
I really enjoyed this light-hearted sweet love story. Tate is a nice guy – just got blackmailed back then but he was young and naïve, so ultimately he did not make the best choices. Tate is all grown up now, a hot doctor, successful and ready to settle down. He just needs to convince Quinn that he is here to stay. I adore Quinn. She is strong, a badass sassy tomboy who loves fast cars. I like that there is no faking or pretense with her. She sort of wears her heart on her sleeve. Quinn was skeptical and is afraid of getting hurt by Tate but she has no problem letting him know her true feelings. I like that their relationship seems honest, genuine and real. I also like how Quinn and Tate’s relationship developed. They are so cute together – dating and taking things slower this time. The story flows at a steady pace with little drama – I feel the lack of angst there but that’s because Quinn and Tate are open with each other so you are not getting the silent treatment or the chase. Over all, Kiss My Boots was a sweet, sexy, second-chance love story with a high dose of hilarious banters and swoony romance. Light, easy summer read.

This is the second book in The Coming Home Series by Harper Sloan, but can be read as a complete stand-alone. Kiss My Boots is absolute perfection! I fell hard for Quinn and Tate’s second chance story and I could not put this book down!
Quinn and Tate had a few summers together in high school and fell in love and fell hard, but then Tate left and Quinn was heartbroken.. Flash forward 9 years and Tate is back in Quinn’s life and trying to get her back, but it’s no easy feat for him as Quinn has walls around her heart from the heartbreak of the only man she’s ever loved leaving her high and dry. I adored watching Tate and Quinn finding their way back to one another and seeing Tate prove himself over and over again to Quinn that he would always be there for her, and hearing the reasons he did what he did. I wanted to hate him for leaving her the way he did, but once I heard the reasons I was angry for both of them and I wanted to cry for the time they lost. Quinn on the other hand I loved how she tried to guard her heart and how she went to Leigh for help and Leigh would push her just like Quinn pushed Leigh right back to Maverick in Lost Rider.
These two may have been separated for years, but it feels like they were never separated once Quinn starts to let Tate in. Watching their playful banter and dates was cute and exciting and I loved watching everything escalate in their relationship. The two of them are perfect for one another and this story was written in a perfect way that you can’t help but laugh, and cry right along with these characters. Both of them had to do some soul searching in this book, but in the end they both knew exactly what they wanted and were both so much stronger together than they were apart.
This was a perfectly told story of second chances, true love, family, friendship, and everything in between. Quinn and Tate’s story is one that definitely needs to be one-clicked and read, and then added to your read again list. I started this book and never put it down, I got sucked into this story and fell hard for the characters and the crazy and wild story that Harper Sloan took us on. Don’t hesitate in adding this one to your tbr list today, it’s definitely worth the one-click!

This is a sweet twist on the second chance romance we all love so much. Tate and Quinn fell in love young, and thought it would last forever. and it would have, if his dad not stepped in and broke their hearts, keeping them apart. we find out the reason for the break up quite early in the book, which was honestly a little surprising. normally this is kept from us for quite a while, and honestly I'm glad the truth was out early. I'm not one to wait to find out what happened , or play games, so I'm glad the way Harper laid it out.
Harper gave us the heart ache, the holes left behind , the void you feel when you lose the one you love. but then slowly she took us on the ride of rebuilding that love and filling those holes. it was the perfect pace for us to fall in love with Tate and Quinn.
I think one of the things I loved most about them is that Quinn isn't a girly girl. she's a mechanic and loves it. she crazy good at it. and as much as she loves doing it, Tate loves that she's not a typical girly girl, a high society princess. he never once tried to change one thing about her. he loves her just as she is, as does he. the doctor and the mechanic. not your typical couple, but they work so well together.
I also love that we get to see Quinn's brothers and we also got to see a bit of his space fillers come try to bite him in the ass. but this time , we get to see Quinn fight , not Tate. it's nice to see a woman fight for her man once in a while, not all in love stories all we see is tbe man fighting. not so much here. I think we can all agree Tate fought hard enough and long enough, it was nice to see Quinn step up to the plate and be Confident and secure enough to do so.

Kiss My Boots is the second book in Harper Sloan’s Coming Home series and I thoroughly enjoyed being back in Pine Oak, Texas with the Davis family. Getting over the past is never easy and for Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery who want from friends to lovers to nothing for the last nine years, forgiveness and acceptance begin their road to their happily ever after.
First off I want to say that I loved both Quinn and Tate and I was extremely happy that over time they were able to find their way back to one another. Quinn was a multi faceted character; strong, sassy, and I loved that she was a mechanic and good at it, she was fiercely loyal to her brothers and her best friend, Leighton, and she loved with her whole heart. So it wasn’t a surprise that she still felt deeply about her mother abandoning their family when she was a baby, her father’s verbal abuse and physical abuse of one of her brothers, and the young man who left her and broke her heart in a million pieces, but I was thrilled that despite that hurt, she was willing to listen to him, let him explain, and admit to herself that even though almost a decade has gone by that no one else has ever come close to making her feel the way he does. Tate was sweet, charming, and selfless in that he was willing to sacrifice his happiness to make sure the people he loved were protected. I admired the fact that he made sure to meet with Quinn’s brothers and explain what happened in the past, to let them see he was in it for the long haul, and that their sister meant more to him than anything. He wasn’t afraid of showing his feelings, of admitting his failings, or of the love he felt for Quinn even during their time apart. I loved that they didn’t hide their pasts from one another, they didn’t apologize for being with other people, nor did they obsess over it; the fact that they could be mature about that part of their lives impressed me greatly.
This book was repetitive on numerous occasions and the “conflict” towards the end honestly felt contrived and I expected it while reading the third chapter so I was disappointed that in came to pass. I was glad that Quinn was able to confront and lay her past to rest, letting her feel free to move on with her life once and for all.
With each book in this series I get more enamored with these characters and their lives, I feel their pain, I celebrate their joy, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Sloan has in store for big brother Clay. Sentimental, sassy, and sexy Kiss My Boots was a fun and enjoyable story.

Kiss My Boots is the second standalone book in the Coming Home Series by Harper Sloan centred around hell-raisin' Quinn Davis and rich boy Tatum Montgomery.
I love a second chance romance, and a second chance romance with a bit of hate to love thrown in? My favourite!
After meeting Quinn in Lost Rider I was desperate to learn more about her. Growing up with two over protective brothers, no mother and an uncaring father turned her into a tomboy who just wanted her happily ever after. As a teenager Quinn met the boy she wanted to spend her life with, Tatum Montgomery. They planned a future through Rose Tinted glasses and for one reason or another the future never came.
Tate disappeared. Leaving Quinn with a broken heart she's been nursing and building walls around for 9 long years.
Tate makes a sudden appearance backing Quinn's life hoping they can pick up where they left off. But should they? And more importantly can they? Is there teenage love still as strong after 9 years?
I loved finally getting Quinn's story, I found her hilarious in Lost Rider. She's a little brash, a little insecure and a lot hilarious. Tate was almost Quinn's opposite. He was calm and collected and new what he wanted and exactly how to get it.
When you learn why Tate left Quinn 9 years ago, you can completely sympathise with him and it makes you love him a little bit more. He's genuine and a nice guy.
While I really enjoyed reading Kiss My Boots, I would've loved a little bit more angst and tension. And a little bit of angry sex. Every hate to love story needs a little angry sex and I think it would've added to Kiss My Boots just a little bit more when Quinn and Tate finally see each other again. Quinn was a firecracker and it would've added so much more to her character. Lost Rider had perfect sexual chemistry and tension and it fell a little flat in Kiss My Boots.
Kiss My Boots was a solid 3.5 star read and still a great second chance story and I really enjoyed going back to Pine Oak and seeing each of the characters again!

Kiss My Boots was an easy, but angsty second chance romance in Harper Sloan’s Coming Home Series. This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.
This book was enjoyable, but it didn’t WOW me. As I was reading this book I kept waiting for some drama to excite the storyline a little more. It never really came. Yes she had some drama in there but I guess it wasn’t what I was expecting. There were times I felt the storyline dragged a little slowing down the pace of the story. With that said I would still recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the second chance romance.
This story follows the love between Quinn and Tate. Quinn is the younger sister of Maverick and Clay. She runs the Auto Body shop the family owns and has been in love with Tate ever since they were young and he would come to town to visit his grandparents. They had a sweet love brewing over the summers he would visit, until one summer he just left without a word. Cutting all contact with Quinn. She was heartbroken but also didn’t know how to move on. Now 9 years later Tate is resurfacing and moving back to Oak Pine to take over his grandpa’s medical practice. Oh and he is determined to get Quinn back!!! Will Quinn be able to forgive him?? Can Tate make Quinn fall in love with him again?? What happens when the Past doesn’t stay in the past?? Read their story to find out the answers.
Kiss My Boots is a standalone novel told from Dual POV. It is part of an interconnected series. The storylines are all completed and there are NO Cliffhangers. We do see past characters from the first book in this story, but you don’t have to read Lost Rider first to enjoy this story. I enjoyed catching up with Leighton and Maverick. I also liked seeing more of Clay, I look forward to his book next.
This book is definitely for the reader who likes a second chance romance. Also if you are a fan of Harper Sloan’s you don’t want to miss this book.

Oh My Gosh, Love Love Love...LOVE this book. Quinn is the book Heroine, we should all have inside us. Harper Sloan is such a master with words, and she just take me away. The one liners and sparks between Quinn and Tate about blew my kindle up, never mind the sexy times...Lord love a duck. I think I actually like this book even better than the first, and I didn't think that was possible. I cannot wait for Clay's book, I might have a coronary.LOL The characters are so rich, and I love the secondary characters too! This is a total must read. I know Harper said this was stepping out of her comfort zone, but she friggin nailed it. and props to her for stepping out to begin with, so many authors don't have the courage to do that, but Harper became a master at yet another sub genre of Romance. This book is told in alternating views.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series, Lost Rider, and when I heard about the second book following the story of Quinn...I jumped at the chance to read this one.
This was my second Sloan book and I absolutely adored it. Kiss my Boots was everything you could want in a book and more. I'm a sucker for a cowboy...being from Texas and all, and she definitely knows how to write those yummy cowboys.
Everything about this story felt so real and emotional. You could connect with the characters and feel their pain. And even know some of their pain. That's one thing that I really love about these books, is their problems are so relatable and it makes the characters feel more real.
Kiss my Boots follows the story of Quinn, the youngest Davis sibling and her first love Tate Montgomery. Quinn has never gotten over Tate leaving her when they were younger. Just no more emails, no more calls, no more Tate. She was destroyed. But now years later she's never given her heart to another man because she knows who it will always belong to. Even if she may never see him again...the heart wants what the heart wants.
But it seems Tate has other plans. He's never forgotten about the girl covered in grease, even in his pristine medical environment. As secrets unfold and truths are told will Tate be able to take his woman back or will she make him kiss her boots?

Since her father owned an auto shop that specialized in custom work, Quinn Davis became fascinated with cars at an early age. She has taken over the business and really enjoys her days at the garage, and though she has plenty of interaction with men, she has not dated in a long time. The reason for her disinterest is because of the way her relationship with Tate Montgomery ended. While he only came to stay with his grandparents during the summer months, Quinn thought what was between them could survive when he went away one more time. Sadly, it did not.
When she first hears the man who broke her heart is coming back to Pine Oak, Texas to live, she cannot keep the long-buried memories from being dredged up again. There was a huge reason Tate never returned to the one place where he felt at home, and he hopes Quinn will eventually forgive him. But getting the feisty woman to change her mind about him will take some clever scheming.
With plenty of honest emotions and fiery passionate encounters, KISS MY BOOTS captivates during every believable set of circumstances. From the very start, feelings are expressed with candid openness, and the truth behind any sentiment was easily sensed because of the author’s skillful writing. Harper Sloan has certainly written a winning novel, as I came to strongly care about the welfare of the main characters. Tate proved over and over again that he is someone worthy of being loved, and why he never came back to Pine Oak is cleverly conceived in order to give him another opportunity with Quinn. While she was terribly hurt when he left her never to return and is still suffering, I was very glad she gave him the chance to explain at some point and not drag out their differences for the whole story as some books seem to do. Though trust does need to be built as Tate and Quinn come to know one another again, their desire is even more potent than before. Their love scenes are definitely steamy, and their lusty craving adds plenty of enthusiastic creativity.
There are so many wonderful characters in the Coming Home series, from Tate and Quinn to friends and relatives. I experienced the many ups and downs in their lives, and I also came to know these individuals on a very personal level as new details became known. There were a huge number of moments where amusement was present, as comments would come across as hilarious while actions could be comical, too. I will definitely be recalling some of the more humorous incidents, because they are just too original to forget. It was great catching up with Maverick and Leigh from the first book, and I cannot wait until Clay’s book is released.
I voluntarily reviewed the book from the publisher via NetGalley, and all comments are my honest opinion
