Having taken Managerial Accounting before, I find this book to be very detailed with explainations, but lack examples. It is a good book to use in class when the teacher does give some examples. But as an online student, I am navigating blind.

What a rip-off!!!! I NEEDED the access code, and that's the only reason why I bought this book.I got the book a day before my homework was due, only to realize it didn't have an access code. Very annoyed.

Just to explain, I rented the textbook from the store, so my experience is colored by that fact.

When I received the rental, I noticed that the index had almost completely separated from the binding. Other than that, the book looks brand new. I haven't seen any writing or highlighting anywhere. I emailed the store about the tear and they were extremely helpful and polite, as usual.

The book itself (so far I have only read four chapters) is well written and easier than my other accounting textbooks to read (though that could be because the subject matter is easier to explain). It's not a big book and I don't feel like it is far superior to other cost accounting textbooks so I feel the cost isn't necessarily justified.

Succinct explanations of accounting concepts understandable to even those not so well-versed in the subject. Lots of ideas and real-world business examples packed into this book, and nothing unnecessary.

I purchased this book last quarter for my cost accounting class. I was very frustrated because often times there were things requested in the homework sections that were not fully covered, and sometimes not covered at all, in the textbook. Often the setup of the charts were illogical and more confusing than necessary. The theory was ok, but not enough computational examples to help the student more successfully transfer the theory to computation. Make sure you get the solutions manual if you get this book. It helped me alot. I just wish I had purchased it initially instead of halfway through the quarter.

This book is clear and concise. I actually didn't mind reading it for my class. As much as you can enjoy accounting..... The examples were real-life businesses like Boeing, Nike, Nestle and Ferrari.

I bought the loose-leaf edition and the pages had some heft, so I didn't just tear them all up like I usually do. A few tore, but not the whole book. I'm not very good to my books - I usually drop them all the time.
