Desert Heat (Joanna Brady Mysteries Book 1)

I needed to read this book to complete the Joanna Brady. From the beginning we see how Joanna became the apprehensive sheriff after losing her husband of 10 years. With each book she has grown, matured and learned to let others step in and help.

Since I just started reading the J A Jance/Joanna Brady mysteries it would seem that I started in the middle of the series but I am catching up. I am completely captured by these mysteries and loving every minute.

I really enjoy the Joanna Brady and JP Beaumont books. Jance depicts their characters as down to earth believable people with problems and faults. The only problem I have is that I get so in volved the story that I burn through the book too fast.

Sorta of a typical Jance novel - lots of mystery and a really good ending. Fun to read, easy and you know it will turn out like you want, however, there was a turn of events and the one we thought was a good guy - well, read the book.

The conclusion was predictable. Not enough intrigue. I will read Jance again. I understand this was at the beginning of her career and her books got better. I read this to my husband as he drove us cross country and it helped to make the miles go by.

I enjoyed reading this book so much that I couldn't put it down until I had finished it.Hooked on this author must really read more of these boks.Recommend anyone wanting a good read should get this series

I discovered the Joanna Brady series thanks to a friend at work who had read Judgement Call, so I search the net for JA Jance to see if that was the first book in the series to find that Judgement Call was the latest one. I found the first book Desert Heat and feel in love with the characters. I'm currently reading the 10th book in the series and still love the characters. I have not read the third book yet but I'm keeping an eye out for it hoping it will come available soon

This was definitely a good mystery. I could not put it down until done. Now I am looking forward to reading more in the Joanna Brady series. It was wonderful to have "real", fictitious characters so believable while being totally engrossed in a mystery.
