I thought that this was an excellent book. It captured the magic of the four friends when they were finally reunited again at the end of the summer. I think that the ending of this book was the perfect ending for it and the series. I wish that there would be more books, but, i'll just have to be satisfied with re-reading all the books. Great ending to the perfect series.

I loved the last book, Forever in Blue. Brashares really did an awsome job with Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, Lena, and all the other characters in the book. I was a little disappointed though at the ending which was good, but I expected a little more of something else.

Personally, I like the third book, Girls in Pants, and I thought the ending was alot better than the fourth book's.

Overall, this book was fun to read!

I was quite surprised to find that the confidence fought for and won by the girls was eroded in this final installment. The author took them back to square one with their new challenge of college. I was expecting the girls to face challenges, but take their hard won confidence and wear it as a shield.

I also felt the resolution of the pants was weak. I was expecting the girls not to need them, once again, that confidence gene.

I gave it 3 stars for the first 50 pages or so, where I smiled, this reminded of the summers past.

Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first. The lesson afterward."-Vernon Law. This is a quote from the fourth Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants: Forever in Blue. In this book there are four main characters. They are Carmen, Bridget, Lena and Tibby. Carmen attends Williams and Mary. Bridget goes to Brown. Lena goes to RISD and Tibby goes to NYU. This book follows the four girls from age 17 -21.

When I was reading this I seriously could not put it down. In the first three books it the story talked about how they were trying to figure out what they were going to do when they get to college and how they were going to survive without there friends. But in this story they struggle to stay together and they have already been in college for one year. Also in this book new loves are made and old loves are forgotten. I think that Ann Brashares is a fantastic writer for all ages. She writes the books for mainly girls. She has written three books before Forever In Blue. I believe that nothing will break the girls apart and nothing ever will. Some of the themes to this book are love and friendship. As love and lust grows so does the bond between four phenomenal friends this book exceeded my expectations.

I would recommend this book to any girl that wants to read a fantastic book. This story plunges through the life and the bonds of the "sisters". I love this book and I am sure you will too. This book makes you thankful for the "brothers" and "sisters" in your life.

I was very dissapointed by the fourth book. I absolutely loved the first 3 books, those were great! But the last one wasn't as interesting. The characters totally changed. (in a bad way)Bridget's going after some other guy. Tibby is doing things a little inapropriate. and where is tough Carmen?!? She was totally pathetic! I could read the other books in the series over and over again. But I can only read this book once, once was worse enough. I'm sorry Ann Brashers, but you lost your magic to entertain readers.

This was a great conclusion/continuation to the book series. Even though I'm way beyond my teenage years, the books read quickly and this one continues to entertain. It just reemphasizes the need that all women, young and old, need each other in some way and that we should make time for each other. Great book. Great series. It has made my girlfriends and I realize how important it is to make time for each other.

It's the summer after their freshman year of college, and Tibby, Bridget, Carmen, and Lena are about to embark on their fourth summer apart. They are spread out all over the world again. Bridget is in Turkey at an archeological dig, Tibby is in Boston at a filming workshop, Lena is in New York working on her art, and Carmen is at a Shakespeare Festival. One of the girls will start with the pants and they get the pants for a week, and they need to tell what happens when she is wearing the pants. The pants get passed on to the next sisted, and she does the same thing. Through a tramatic loss of the pants, the girls are brought to Greece where they must fine the pants. The girls share all their love stories, their job experiences, their family crises, and their lost feelings for each other while they are staying at Lena's grandmother's house.

This whole series of books is amazing. This book really wraps things up nicely, although it did leave me wanting more. :( It is a page-turner. I couldn't put it down and stayed up all night reading it. The author writes in a way that gets you attached to each character. A must-read!

I really enjoyed the first three books in this series. They were amazing and I was really looking forward to the fourth book. I was disapointed. The plot of all the girls was weak. Each of the characters changed so much I could barely reconize who they were. I would not recommend this book. The third book was a perfect end to the series and the fourth book was overkill. I would highly recommend the first three but skip the fourth. It's not worth your time.

Forever in Blue is an absolutely amazing book if you have read the other three books in the Sisterhood of Travelling Pants series. the book is interesting, intruiging, and a good story that has deep, lifelike characters. Not as amazing as the other three books but still really really good. 5 stars!

After reading the previous 3 books in the series, that were pretty mediocre, this is the best in the series. The book is brought to an appropriate close for each of the girls and even for the pants ... a pleasurable read.

This book was great. The ending made sense. I couldn't really picture the Septembers passing around the pants and etcetera ten years from then, a never ending cycle. The Pants had done their job with the foursome and they needed to let them go at that point. Just like how they'd found them.

"They'd had a good life before us. You could just tell...I could tell the Pants hadn't come to our lives because of tragedy. They'd just witnessed one of those regular but painful life transitions. That, it turns out, is The Way of the Pants."- Carmen Lowell

It IS the Way of the Pants. They do their job in someone's life, and when they are no longer needed, they leave that person's life.

One thing, though about this series. The title, cover and over-all first impression of the books draw in younger readers, but it's not exactly a G-rated series, especially this last book.

This book is the fourth book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pant series. Forever in Blue is the kind of book that keeps you up late at night, telling yourself one more page, and then you keep reading. This book is romantic and funny at the same time. I enjoyed reading Forever Blue.

As an actual adult, I felt that this book actually fit in with the way people change, learn, and grow, especially after going to college. I thought the book showed very good character development, and the ending was fitting. I only think the book was too sexual for younger readers.

This book encompasses all that is the sisterhood. It is the fourth and final book in this wonderful series. You will cry many tears with these girls as well as many for them. You will share in their worry but also in their friendship and love. As the book says pants = love. This is a fab read and very emotional. If you have cried at the others (as I'm sure many of you have) this will be no exception. The girls' summers are so different; you ache for them to be together, to need each other and to share the pants. But the pants hold a different meaning this summer. This book takes a different focus. As much as you learn more about their lives, you re cap many things you will already know. It's preparing you to say good bye to the sisterhood, not to enter further into their world.
It is a fantastic read and you should buy it now!!
Go and order yourself a copy, to share in the lives of these girls for the final time, to be with them and ultimately say goodbye, as they continue their journey in life "together and apart".

The last book was very disapointing. It was nothing like the other three. Even the charecters have changed. I did not like it so much, that I would have rather ended it at the 3rd book, and not read the 2nd at all. 2 stars for the sheer anticipation of the 4th book.

I was a little disappointed with this book. I loved the other three but felt this one didn't fit in. I understand the characters are older and in college but that dosen't change the core of a person. I felt that drinking and sex played way too big of a part in this book. I am hoping that the younger generation that does read these books waits for a few years so they see what life is really like. It isn't all about drinking and sex.

Forever in Blue, The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood

by Ann Brashares

The fourth book in the sisterhood series has finally arrived. I was anxious to read this book as I have enjoyed the previous three books. I teach junior high and hope to keep up with all the books my students are reading. I have many students who anticipated the release of this book. Keep in mind, these are 12-14 year old students. The fourth book is NOT for this age group. The book starts out with Tibby, one of the four main characters, deciding whether or not she should become physically involved with her boyfriend. She makes the moves and then has to deal with whether or not she is pregnant. This is not a book for teenagers. I am disappointed as a parent and a teacher that Brashares had to step into this realm. Previously in her books things have happened and she slipped over the details allowing the reader to make inferences. This could have been done in this book. As it stands now, I cannot recommend this book to my students or put this out on the book shelf. If you are looking for a steamy romance novel, you have found it! However, if you want the traditional sisterhood adventures, reread the first three books. The girls are older and I would say too old for my readers.

This book is excellent, but not complete. I can imagaine their lives going into thier second year, but then, I need to know. I know the love they found, but I want to know what they do with it. The is an opportunity here to write four seperate books, one for each girl, or to write one, with the girls after college and let us know what happens. Let these enjoyable characters go on. Someday, I need the answers.

This book is full of interesting events, an equivilant sequal to the other three books in the captivating series. The characters seems very real, and carry a certain revelency to my own life, which is perhaps the most character trait. I also like the events to take place, and the plot is like no other.

Forever in Blue starts out slowly and unfolds beautifully into the lives of the four women we have come to love and live with in the sisterhood series. Ms. Brashares, captures the very essence of experience and emotion of each individual and the foursome together. Truly a classic in the realm of books and also the growing up in college experience. The ending is surprising yet allows the reader to continue the story in their own life. Thank you Ms. Brashares. Fabulous series and book four.

All of the books in this series are wonderful. It's so sad to see this story come to an end. Hopefully Ann Brashares will write more about the girls in the future. Other suggested books: Sunshine by NSLee Sunshine, Flipped by Draanen Flipped

OMG!!! I loved every single one of the books preceding this book and this one hit the mark! It is so wonderful, and though it is so sad that it ends the series the finish is remarkable. Brashare's masterpiece is complete!!!

I thought the prime qualities of the first three books of this series were charm and innocence. For the fourth installment, one of our heroines poses nude for a male art student and another falls for a married man with children. Whatever other qualities the book may have, charming and innocent it is not.

Another amazing Sisterhood book! I loved it, and couldn't put it down until I was finshed! Personally, I don't like reading much, but as soon as I found out there was a 4th book, I went out and bought it. If you haven't read this book, you NEED to! I loved it!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Each girl has their own story. When you put them all together they form one complete book called, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. This exciting book is written by Ann Brashare. The main characters of this book are Bridget, Lena, Tibby and Carmen. Their mothers were all friends and each mother had their baby within that same summer. Since that summer these girls had never been separated, they were like sisters. The summer that was ahead them was going to be their first summer apart and they were very afraid. They decided to buy a special pair of pants that fit them all perfectly and mail them to each other throughout the summer so they each had a chance to wear them. These pants were their only way to feel like they were all still together. There was a special catch though; they were not to wash the pants ever! In this book they go on a journey of discovering who they really are, and thanks to the traveling pants they weren't as scared.

Flirty, blonde, and beautiful would best describe an outsider's view of our first character Bridget. The people who knew Bridget best would describe her as an exciting athletic girl with a painful past. The beginning of Bridget's journey with the traveling pants starts with the death of her mother. Since her mother's death Bridget's been searching for someone to fill the space that her mother could no longer fill. Her journey brought her to soccer camp in Mexico. With her outgoing and demanding personality she soon found friends and of course clung onto the only boy in her all girls' camp, who happened to be one of the coaches at the camp. Throughout the summer she learned that she didn't need a guy to feel good about herself.

Another character in the book is a shy and conservative girl named Lena. Over the summer Lena's journey began in Greece. She went to spend the summer at her grandparent's house not expecting to find love. Her grandparent's hated this boy, Costos and his family because of a argument that had taken place many years before. Lena did not know about this grudge that her grandparents held. Even though her grandparents did not approve she took the risk of falling in love and stood up for herself. She learned that you can not always avoid trouble and when trouble happens it's ok to stand up for yourself.

Tibby was another girl in the The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She was unhappy with her family, her job was boring, and her adventure this summer was working at store like Wal-Mart. She wasn't expecting to have a fun summer, but a young girl named Bailey changed her summer plans. Bailey was a girl who wanted to be Tibby's assistant for her most recent film. At first Bailey was annoying but Tibby began to like her. This is where her adventure began. Tibby found out that Bailey had leukemia and was dying. Tibby was there for her friend's death. Her big lesson over the summer is what she learned Bailey, life is short and look at things in a positive way.

Carmen is the last of the main characters and completes the sisterhood. Of the four girls Carmen is the most insecure. She hasn't felt wanted since her dad left her and her mom. All year she was looking forward to a summer of quality time with her dad. In the past she had spent very little time with him. She thought she was finally able to build a relationship with him, until she arrived only to find him with a new family and personality. This only made her feel even less wanted, so she ran to her mom. In the end her father felt guilty and they began the relationship that Carmen had always wanted to have with her dad. Carmen learned to let go of her grudge and that her father really did love her.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series is my favorite book because it is very relatable and I would recommend them to any girl. In the end all of the girls learned from their journeys. Each girl discovered something new about themselves along the way. What they thought was going to be a terrible summer apart turned out to be what they did not expect. Even though they were not together the pants kept them united.

Like several reviews already, I totally agree that this book stunk. It was a disappointing last book, and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I think the series is overrated anyway, and it's been totally exploited with the dumb scrapbooks, box sets, and the average movie. Recently a friend told me about a brand new series called Ballet Friends Books and it sounds incredible!!! The site is balletfriendsbooks and it's got tons of info on the new books, plus free music, and cool stuff. It sounds like a really funny hip series, which is like a breath of fresh air!!! So if you like good books, take my advice and check it out!!!
