The Third Summer of the Sisterhood is a fantastic third installment in Ann Brashares series of four girlfriends growing up together and spending their summers apart. This is the last summer before the four girls head off to college and begin to journey on.

After reading the first two books in the series I was eager to start reading the third to find out what would happen. I enjoy how the author created such realistic characters, with real problems. It seems so real that sometimes throughout the book you can identify with each girl at different times. The feeling to relate to the characters and the real situations makes the book even more wonderful.

If you have not read the first two books I recommend you do so. Incase you haven't here is a little summary of what has been going on. Four friends: Line, Tibby, Carmen, and Bridget have to spend their first summer apart. During this time they have a magical pair of pants that they send back and fourth. With the pants they have adventures and do things they would have never done before.

In this book, however; the girls are planning on going to different colleges in the fall. This book was definitely one that got you interested in reading more and more until you were finished. I highly recommend the third book in the series because the characters teach the reader valuable lessons to other girls my age without us really realizing it.

I hope Ann Brashares continues the series to see what will happen to the characters during college.

This book is great. I ove the personalities and the way it's written.

Carmen is sad because instead of leaving a single mother like she thought she would, she's leaving a family of three with a newborn. Also, the boy she's crushing on thinks she's a selfless and giving person.

Tibby is confused when her relationship with her friend who's a boy turns into love

Bridget is mixed up when she remeets the the coach who broke her heart.

Lena is trying to get a schlarship since her dad took is deposit off from RISD college.

I just finished this book and it was amazing!! It was a slow start yes and I didn't realize where July went till the end but other than that it was worth it. Here is wut happens to the Septemberers:

Carmen: Carmen meets the perfect man but there's a small problem he only knows "Good" Carmen not "Whole" Carmen. Plus her mom has a little surprise for her?

Bridget: Well Bridget is back at soccer camp but now she's a coach. And guess who's her co-coach? Plus she learns wut it feels like to be loved by a player.

Tibby: Is confused about her feelings for Brian. She's also guilt ridden by the fact that her window hurt her little sister when she fell out it.

Lena: Lena is confused if she should join art school against her parents wishes or should she pursue a more practical career. Doesn't help that Valia is home and mad.

I loved the book especially the ending, was very bittersweet. And sad coz it's sorta over.

GIRLS IN PANTS, the latest installment in Ann Brashare's "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series, is an enjoyable read if you're a teenage girl. I'm a teenage girl, so naturally, I enjoyed it. This third installment is more interesting than the first, more compelling than the second, and wholly more engaing than both its predecessors combined. Its only shortfall is author Brashare's slightly annoying writing style - all telling, no showing. Just when the narrator (Brashares) mentions something you'd really like to know more about, such as how a character is feeling, she skips to another detail and completely abandons a potential plot point. Ann Brashares does a wonderful job, however, depicting the various romances of the "Traveling Pants" main characters - four best friends Lena, Carmen, Bridget and Tibby - in all their glory and misery. In GIRLS IN PANTS, very likely the best (and least mentioned) sub plot is the budding romance between Tibby and her best guy friend Brian. This may seem like old news when compared the typical young adult fiction, but Tibby and Brian's story is truly in a league all its own. Without giving too much away, the author does a superb job of building there relationship through Tibby's eyes over the course of three years. The "Traveling Pants" books are centered around the concept that in every book, each othe main characters gets a brand new story which plays out over the course of the summer during which the book is set. IN GIRLS IN PANTS, the predominant theme of Tibby's story is her growing attraction to Brian, and the emotional battle that is waged between her mind and her heart. One of the few real problems with Traveling Pants #3 is that Brashares spends too much time on the filler stories (Lena's and Bridget's) and not enough time with the important ones, in this case, Carmen's and Tibby's. Nevertheless, this book deserves four stars because throughout it all, love is the prevailent force that connects these best friends with their families, boyfriends, the rest of the world, and most importantly, to each other. And in doing so, the reader feels connected to them.

If you've read The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, whether you enjoyed it or not, this book is one you should read. This book is WAY better than The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, trust me.

All four girls are getting ready to head onto college--and onto their lives. Lena, who wants to go to art school in Rhode Island, faces trouble when her father disaproves of her doing so. Carmen was going to go to Williams, like her father did and like she's hoped to do since the start of the Sisterhood, but once she learns her mother is pregnant she isn't sure whether she wants to stay closer to home to be with her new sibling and go to University of Maryland instead. Tibby is trying to sort out her relationship with Brian, who she's known since her 12 year old friend, Bailey, who died from leukemia in the first book, introduced him to her. She knows Brian wants to be more than just her friend, but does she want that? And Bridget goes to soccer camp (just like in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) and again comes across Eric, the soccer coach who'd broken her heart two years ago, but this time Bridget is just trying to be his friend, unlike before when she just wanted to be his girlfriend. If you know what I mean.

In my oppinion, I think both The Second Summer of the Sisterhood and Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood, didn't have much to do with a pair of traveling pants. Unlike the first book in this series when you knew exactly which girl had the pants, when the girls were wearing the pants, and what they did in the pants. The Pants didn't really make an impact on the girls's lives in both summers. These books focus more on girls' lives, rather than how a pair of magical pants changed them. If you thought the whole idea of magical pants was stupid in the first book, than this book and The Second Summer of the Sisterhood are for you. If you liked the idea of taking abstract things like love, honesty, power, and magic, and putting them all into a pair of pants four girls share, then, well, you won't LOVE these last two books, but you will at least like them. These books have a power to make you look at things differently; each girl will work her way into your heart and change something in there, whether you like these books or not. I promise.

The Third Summer of the Sisterhood started out a little slowly, in fact, I had to read it twice before it became interesting. It was a little too descriptive, not much seemed to be happening, and I thought it was a pretty bad third summer.

The second time I read it, I appreciated it a bit more, and I liked it. It took until the middle of the book to get interesting, but it really grabbed you once you got there.

The writing style was descriptive and capturing, though it took awhile to really FLOW. The plot wasn't too complicated, but it could get confusing if you forget which girl is which. I would definitely recommend reading the other books first, though you don't HAVE to.

Basically, this book was pretty good, but a bit weepy, and I would recommend this book for girls ages 10-16. It's their last summer together, though some parts don't quite satisfy.

Review:

I thought that this book was exceptionally good. I would have to say that my favorite book of the series was the second book however. With the second book, I just could not put it down, and with this last one, I couldn't really get hooked on it in the beginning. Then the last 100 or so pages, I finally got truly into it. It seemed as though in the second book there was more going on and more changes. That kept me wanting to know what's going to happen next? The third book was an explicit closure for them all and not as many things were happening. Nevertheless, many things did happen and turn some of the girls for a total twist.

Tibby learns that the Pants have at all times recognized what she hasn't about Brian.

Carmen needs all the Pants' magic as possible! She has decided to watch Lena's grouchy Greek grandmother for the entire summer. In addition, Carmen is pretending to be someone she's not, to someone who may possibly truly matter.

Bee is particularly glad to have the Pants with her at soccer camp once she has found out who her fellow coach is.

Lena wishes the Pants could say to her whether going away to art school is the dream she ought to follow; yet it means her family won't support her.

Synopsis:

The girls are going away to college after this summer is over. All four of the Septembers are going to all different colleges, but are within 4 hours of one another.

This summer, Tibby's little sister gets into an accident. Tibby doesn't know how to look at her burgeoning feelings for Brian.

Carmen certainly has an eventful summer. She discovers that her mother, Christina, is pregnant, and is due the month she is supposed to go off to Williams University. Carmen is also "baby-sitting" Valia. She meets a guy that she falls for, and he falls for her. His name is Win.

Bee is going to soccer camp this summer. Not as a camper, but as a coach. She then finds out that Eric, a camp counselor from two summers ago, will be coaching again. Not only did she have to deal with him being there, but also she has to deal with the two being coaching-partners. This summer, Eric even has a girlfriend.

Finally, Lena, who is trying to get over Kostos, her former hook-up, has to deal with Carmen's stepbrother. She is not allowed (as far as her father goes) to attend the art school she has been looking forward to go to for so long. In an art project for a scholarship, she draws pictures of her family, herself, and Paul. While doing this, she realizes many this about the people, who she thought she knew so well.

This book was fantastic as were the other 2 previous books. Whats great is that each book gets better...it is never a dissapointment which often happens when reading book series. I must admit that this reading is intended for the young reader, but Iam 23 years old and I am truly a die-hard fan of this series....I can't wait for the fourth book to be published and I am hopeful that Ann Brashares will write a novel that brings us up to date with how the girls are doing several years after their college experiences. I do hope that Kostos enters back into the book because the romance between he and Lena is by far my favorite! I would reccomend this to any reader at any age, its not just for highschool and junior high girls....it brings you back to the days when lifes problems were simple and yet seemed so monumental. Bottom Line buy the book!

I just finished reading Girls in Pants, the 3rd book in the Sisterhood series. I have read the 1st and 2nd books as well, this one was by far my favorite. In this book the 4 sisterhood members (Lena, Bridget, Tibby, and Carmen) are preparing to say goodbye to each other and head for college. A lot of the events in this book a surprising- nothing I would have expected. This book is a great balance of laughter, love, and tears. If you enjoyed the first two books you'll love this one! Happy Reading!

Girls in Pants The Third Summer of the Sisterhood , is
1. A great, interesting, dramatic, romantic book and a good comedy for anyone. The book takes you into the sisterhood and you feel like the characters are your friends. I could imagine my friends and I having some of the same experiences.
2. This book is an enjoyable book that is easy to read and follow. If you are looking for a good book to read, this is the book for you. You can read it anytime, anywhere. :)
I would recommend this book to a friend because I enjoyed it a lot. I think my friends would feel the same. It is a book that we can relate to. They would enjoy it just like I did.

Quotes: "Hey?" "Carmen, hi. It's David." Most of the warmth in her voice evaporated. This shows its romantic. His voice made her feel good because she liked him a lot.

Patrick: I'm mad.
Spongebob: What's the matter. Patrick?
Patrick: I can't see my forehead.
These are quotes they put in the book to make it fun. This is something my friends and I might say at school when we are just joking around.

I loved this book, I love the sisterhood of the traveling pants. I can't wait to read the next summer's adventures.

Although this third installment of the Traveling Pants series did not resonate with me the way The Second Summer of the Sisterhood did, I continue to be impressed with, and addicted to, this series. It's nice to see that although the characters learned some lessons in the last book, Ms. Brashares did not try to portray them as mature adults. The Traveling Pants girls are still teenagers and still act as such, which is honest and refreshing. I find myself feeling sad that there will only be one more Traveling Pants book to enjoy, and to me, that is a hallmark of a wonderful series!

The book was about these four best friends. They are all different sizes and can fit one pair of special pants. The girl all can wear them. The girls just graduated from high school and are going to four different colleges all over the USA. They decide to let the pants be worn by one girl the whole summer.

Lena spent the whole summer baby-sit Tibby Grandma. Tibby got a job and worked. The rest had jobs too. The girls went to a cottage on a beach a spent the last weekend together before leaving. The girls played in the water holding hands. They vowed that they would never forget each other and will still be best friends.

The whole book over all is about friendship, love, and adventure. I am not going to say anymore read the whole series of the sisterhood of the traveling pant. I think you will enjoy it.

I liked the part where the girls swim in the ocean holding hands so they don't get pulled under. I remind me of the time me and my friends went to the beach.

I recommend that girls 12 and older would like this book. If you like friendship books it wouldn't be a bad book to read,

And i must admit i can't help but love Tibby and Brian. a cute couple. i was rooting for it in the second book and i'm glad it happened. i'm glad the third book came out about them going off to college. i only hope she keeps writing about these four captivating characters!

Each and every person in the world must adapt and come to terms with certain challenges that appear in front of them during their lives. In the third "Sisterhood" book our four main characters, Lena, Carmen, Bridget and Tibby face the idea of loosing their childhood bond and moving on into the next stage of their lives. This is the same challenge facing a lot of girls today in the sense that moving from middle to high school can tear apart some of the most treasured friendships. It is scary to face the unknown when you have become so accustomed to the normal everyday routine. In the fictional story of Girls in Pants by Ann Brashares, the four girls take off on their own summer adventures while dealing with the idea of spending their last summer together.

The first two books in this series were considered some of the best young adult novels by many well-known magazines. So you would expect the newest one to hold up to the same standards, right? Wrong! Even though this book was full of well-developed characters and an interesting plot line, I believe it lacked the same magic the first two books had. I thought that the main point of writing these stories was to tell about the girl's friendship through the fantastic "traveling" pants, but in this book the pants didn't seem to be of that much importance. The girls have now matured into their young adult selves and no longer make the silly little mistakes they did as children. But that was part of what made the stories such fun!

In book three, Bridget is extremely levelheaded towards Eric, the man of her dreams, and plays it safe not allowing herself to feel the same passion for him. Lena almost seems completely dead. She shows no emotion but sadness and must find her heart again through the enchantment of art. Tibby just doesn't want anything to change. She will not accept anyone new into her life for fear of loosing them. Throughout the entire story she is battling to let herself accept this new stage in her life. Carmen's mother has dropped the news that she will be having a baby, and Carmen is afraid that this will wipe her out of the picture. In all of these situations you can tell the circumstances are hard on the girls, but they just don't show the same emotion that they expressed in the first two books. This story was more routine, following the same outline most stories do: introduce character, present conflict, resolve conflict, live happily ever after. Where is the drama? Where is the magic of the pants? And most importantly, where is the intense supportive friendship these girls share? You can identify that the friendship is there, however, you just can't sense its fire in this book.

Girls in Pants lacks the quirky charm of the first two books in the series, but I still enjoyed finding out how each of the girl's lives was resolved. I do look forward to a fourth book in the series exploring the "sisterhood" after their high school days.

This book is magnificent. It tells us the importance of love and friendship in reality. Four friends, in four different places, living four different lives. I love this book, as it tells us you can find love in the most unexpected places, and be in love with the most unexpected people. These girls help each other, care about each other, and most importantly share the "magical" traveling pants with each other. They're starting college and leaving their old worlds behind. In the end, it is just the start of family, friends, love, and maybe most importantly, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Girls in Pants talks about tibby, lena, bridget and carmen on their last summer together. Lena wants to go to art school,Carmen wants to go to Williams University,Tibby is going to NYU, and Bridget is going to Browns University.

Bridget is going to the soccer camp she went to the first summer, but this time as a coach.Guess who she meets there?....the guy who broke her heart last time. She learns that he has a girlfriend but wants to be his friend and for him to trust her more than wanting him to be hers. Will they be together 4ever or will they just be friends? READ TO FIND OUT!!

Tibby is struggling becuase Brian wants to be more than friends. She doesn't know what to do. But something happens that make tibby and brian go closer together.

Lena,...she's trying to put kostos to the past and go on with life. She wants to go to art school, but her parents don't think it's a good idea. Oh, and her grandma comes to visit cuz her grandpa died.

Carmen has to take care of lena's cranky grandma. While she takes lena's grandma around, she meets this guy who she thinks is too perfect for her.

This summer is their last one toghether. It's so sad :( They're all going their seperate ways but they will always be "together and apart."

MUST READ THIS AND THE WHOLE SERIES!

Ann Brashares does it again with an awesome come back to the Sisterhood books! I love how she makes the characters so real that its almost like they really exist (and it makes you sad that they dont) and how she makes them grow and mature just like the readers, especially in this book. What I love about these books is that it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, you really feel like you care about the characters, and you wont want to finish the book because you won't want it to end! And that means its a *great* book!

I was a bit disappointed by the third installment of the "Sisterhood" series. Usually I can't put the books down because they grab my attention immediately, but that was not the case for this one. Of the four girls, I only found Bridget's story to be truly compelling, even if I did know how it was going to end. Tibby and Carmen's stories were all right, even though Carmen apparently hasn't learned from her past mistakes because she acted the exact same way as she did in books one and two. As a character, she doesn't grow until the very end of this book. As for Lena - who is usually my favourite "Sister" - I found her story to be a complete bore. The descriptions of her portraits did nothing for me.

Though not as good as the first two books, hopefully "Girls in Pants" will make the series complete once the last book is out. It's a must for any fan of the books, but if you're new to the Sisterhood, this book isn't the place to start. Looking forward to "Forever in Blue!"

Girls in Pants, the Third Summer of The Sisterhood is an awesome realistic fiction book. There was suspense, anger, tears, joy, and most of all, laughter and happiness. It's the third book in a three book series that are al about the pants. I know you are thinking, "who would want to read a book about pants?" but this is different. The pants bring people together. I would recommend this book for young teens to adults. There is no foul language and it is very easy to read and comprehend. Before you read this book, I recommend that you read the first two books in the series, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the Second Summer of the Sisterhood (both are as good as the third one). You might be up all night trying to read it because it is so suspenseful, and you just can't put it down. The whole plot revolves around four girls, Carmen Tibby, Bridget, and Lena. These four girls pass the pants between them when they are apart. Rember the pants = love.

This book about four teenage girls facing their last summer together will probably interest mostly girls from ages 11 and up. Bridget, Lena, Tibby, and Carmen. In Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares, the pants came to them two years ago when they were about to face their first summer apart, and now it is their last one together. The girls face different problems that the pants help them overcome. Bridget goes to soccer camp, only to find out who she will be coaching with. Lena faces a tough desision when she has to go against her family to fufill her dream of going to art school. Tibby has a hard time dealing with the changes going on and becoming more than "just friends" with Brian. Carmen's mother is about to have a baby and she is worried that she will be forgoten when she goes off to college. This is their last summer they have with the pants, and they will once again work their magic.

I stumbled across the Sisterhood of the traveling pants by mistake one day while i was in a bookstore, i had a giftcard and i bought it and was hooked. I read the second book and was a little dissapointed, it was good but not great like the first one. Girls in Pants exceeds all expectations, it is by far the best one yet, it explained each of the girls to me better than the first two and the deep friendship that they all share not just for each other, but for every person that is involved in their lives. I read another review that mentioned that the pants are barely mentioned in this book, i think there is a reason for that. At first the girls each needed the pants as a substitute for each other, it was what connected them when they were apart, now they realize they share a connection no matter how far apart they are, and the pants are no longer as needed as they were that first summer, though they still seek comfort in them. This book is about them growing up and figuring out who they are, who they want to be, and moving on to a different part of their lives without the comfort that they bring to each other. It was a great book, and as a person that reads alot it had me not only wanting it to go on forever, but also for Ann Brashares to write more books, either from the traveling pants series, or start a new one. Either way i will be first in line to read anything that this fantastic writer can come up with.

Girls in pants is the third book in the sisterhood series and it presents the girls with new challenges like Carman's mother is pregnant, Tibby is struggling with Bryan becoming her boyfriend, Lena tries to get over Kostas and convience her father to let her go to art school, and Bridget gets tested when Eric comes back into her life. It was a great book.

after reading the first two pants books, i eagerly awaited the third. i have to admit i was really nervous as i bought the book, hoping it wouldn't turn out to be a ginormous let down. thankfully, it was as good if not better than the first ones. I read the book in about twelve hours, not my record, but i definetly didnt sleep that night. anyway, i highly recommend the third installment because the characters teach valuable lessons to girls my age without us even knowing it.

This third installment is a welcome addition to the series. I couldn't help but feel that it was more predictable than the previous books.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and sensed that each of the characters were maturing and seemingly more introspective in their lives. I look forward to reading the next books.

Meet Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bee, four friends who are facing their last summer together before college. Armed with the magical pants, can their friendship survive this final summer? I really enjoyed this book. The characters grew a lot and it was cool how the stories of all four girls were going at the same time. If you haven't read the first two books, this one might be kind of hard to understand but those who have will love it. The quotes in between the chapters are hilarious, such as "I don't have to be careful, I've got a gun! -Homer Simpson" and "Your chances of getting hit by lightning go up if you stand under a tree, shake your fist at the sky, and say "Storms suck!" -Johnny Carson." I can't wait until the movie comes out. It should be great.

I loved the second and third books of the Sisterhood. (I had to wait for a bit until the fourth one came out but loved that one just as much.) Brashares's writing flows so smoothly - it's a fantastic and realistic take on girls' lives. I'm just heartbroken that this series has come to an end. Other suggested books to get you through the summer: Sunshine by NSLee Sunshine, Stargirl (Readers Circle) by Jerry Spinelli.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series is really one of the best in young adult literature, and its newest additon is a worthy companion to the rest. While many so-called "Chick-lit" books tend to be shallow and formulaic,Brashares manages to do more than just tell the story. The plot goes beyond dating; it touches on the relationships between parents and daughters, grandparents and their grandchildren, and mentors and students. The reader feels like they are there in the action. This has been said many times, about many books, but at the end of each Sisterhood book, as I read the characteristic bittersweet goodbye, I actually ache. I want everything to work out, I want the characters to be happy. From the very beginning of Girls in Pants, I identified with the characters and their conflicts. All in all, it was a great book to read and I look forward to the next volume.

I love the Sisterhood series, and my friends and I pass them around, always anxious to get the book next. I loved this book, as did my friend! Easy 5 stars. Except, like another reviewer said, it is a bit unrealistic how every girl had everything going for them in the end... A bit unrealistic, yet still awesome.

With high expectation I read Girls in Pants-the Third Summer of the Sisterhood, and I was not disappointed. This novel follows the girls through their last summer before college-making the book bittersweet--pardon the cliché.

I am a fan of Ann Brashares' ability to deal with the topic of growing up-a sometimes unfortunate necessity. She treats the subject with the respect and delicacy it deserves. Change is hard, and this particular change is scary and comes with a flood of emotion.

This book, while mature, is great for young girls dealing with change in their lives-giving them well developed characters to relate to and hopefully learn from.

I love the Sisterhood of the Traveling pants books, I can relate to the problems dealing with friends and family. I bet other people will feel the same way after reading this book. Although this was a good book, it wasn't the best out of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series. This book has major suspense. I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know what would happen next in the girls' lives. I recommend this book to people who loved the first two books and, to peolple who love to laugh!

This book is an awesome book about three girls who have to face the fear and fun of growing up. I have read the first two and also thought them great, but i liked this one better because of the many surprises the author put in. Although it may not be welcomed by some adults, most people who are open to reading about the crazy life of teenagers will savor this book.

This book is a great book about four teenage girls named Carmen, Lena, Tibby, and Bridget. Two summers ago they found a pair of magical pants that they would share with each other as well as shared memories with each other. They passed the pants along the four of them for two summers so that they could still be close friends, even though they were far away from each other. This year is their third summer with the pants, and they are all going away to different colleges. They share the pants again this summer to stay close over the many miles. I really liked this book because I could relate to it and there was always something interesting going on.

It was a great continuation from the first two books. I think it is more teenager to adult vs. young child or junior adult in its content, but it is a great story. A lot of fun to read and I loved reading all the happenings of each of the girls' and their families. Having seen the movie - I picture the actors as I am reading....

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is the best book EVER! Portraying a story of love and friendship. Although the thought of a pair of jeans uniting 4 best friends over the summer is a little cheesy, the story is a great one. I'd tell anyone to read it.

How delightful. My library readers keep the other two books racing in and out at a record pace, and they are dying to get their hands on this one. Me first! Brashares has tied up all the girls' stories most satisfactorily, and without being a Pollyanna. Each of the girls remains a strong, fascinating individual who is lucky enough to belong to a mutually loving and supportive quartet of friends. These are the types of girls I want my high school girls reading about and learning from.

Of all of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books I'd have to say that this one was my favorite. Its filled with laugh out loud, and touching moments. I finished it, and all I could think was I hope that Ann Brashares writes another one. Everything just seems to fit together perfectly and everyone leaves off to college feeling happy. I totally reccomend it to anyone and everyone

"Girls in Pants" is the third installment in Brashares' 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' series. In this novel she demonstrates the fact that she knows her main characters inside and out, giving voice to the plights of teenage girls on the verge of adulthood. The third installment is a worthy addition to the prior novels.

Brashares' novels tell the story of four girlfriends, whose mothers were friends before their birth. Even though their mothers may have lost contact, the girls have remained friends through thick and thin. And they've seen and experienced enough trouble for more than double their lives. "Girls in Pants" finds them in the final summer before they embark for college, when they'll truly be apart for the first time in their lives. Once again, they pass the magical pants back and forth during the summer, always exactly when one girl needs them the most. While two of the girls face new and frightening experiences, the other two must encounter past problems and deal with the ghosts that haunt them.

Brashares crafts a good story. She has developed these characters consistently throughout all three novels, and takes their lives in different, but satisfying directions. Although an adult, she infuses their young voices with the wisdom of teenagers-on-the-cusp. Perhaps their stories are complete, but readers know that there will always be more summers for these magical pants and this diverse group of girls.

Girls in Pants is a fantastic 3rd installment in Ann Brashares series of 4 girlfriends, growing up in Bethseda, Maryland.

It's the last summer before Tibby, Carmen, Bridget and Lena head off to college and leave their "childhood" behind. The third summer of the sisterhood is just as good as the first two. Ann Brashares does a good job of mixing true girlfriend fun with some great life lessons. I hope there is more to follow~

This is an excellent book. Ann Brashares can pull off a trick that most authors can't- making the third book just or almost as good as the first. No book to be better than the original but this one comes very close. I wasnt suprised to hear that she had a third book out and immediately grabbed it the first day it was out. If you havent read this book, please do. I donated mine to a local library when i was through so others could enjoys Brashares work.

The first book was great!

The second book was good.

This book is only OK.

Even though they keep popping these out. With each new book, the plot gets less and less powerful, and the bounds of their relationships seem more unrealistic. Its still a great book, but it is like watching kidsWB remake Looney Tunes into a crime fighting team. Its just not the same.
