Really good story that kept me wanting to continue reading and has me dying to read more about Sam and her friends. The characters are well written and you find yourself caring about what happens to them.

Interesting new paranormal series. Heroine is a unique take on witches. Beside her are interesting friends ( hedge witch, cyber (yes, cyber) witch, wolf familiar, former lover of mysterious origins (book not heavy on romance element) and his vampire partner. All work together to solve the mystery/rid evil from world. Even paced and kept me interested. Will continue to follow this series.

I would have given enough this book four stars, but the constant misspelling, dropped words, and spell check misses substituting the wrong word are so numerous they were very distracting.
If this author paid someone to do a final edit/proofreading of this book she should fire them. If she didn't she better hire an editor.

Uninteresting characters, an overly complicated scenario, and poor writing made for a book that was torturous to read. There's a massive backstory that isn't satisfactorily integrated into the book, the main character, Sam, is TSTL, and the plot just stops....no cliffhanger, but no resolution. The identity of the villain was obvious from early on but not "revealed" to Sam until the last pages (as I said, TSTL), as was the identity of Sam's wolf familiar (to be revealed to Sam in a later book, I assume, but I'm not TSTL, and I won't be reading any more of these).

Samantha, a witch, with her friends Kyle,a witch, and Ivan, a witch are trying to figure out what has happened to some missing children. Sam thinks they were kidnapped by Faeries and replaced with changelings. I could have used more background in how Sam and her friends got together. The book has a lot of action. A lot of scary stuff! There is a lot of detail in the book, which I like. So much info that I can't describe it all. You just have to read it yourself. It is worth it. I can't wait for book 2! I received this book for a honest review. Thank you Phaedra!

This is a good premise and an interesting world. I will read the next book for sure. Not a spoiler, but my main gripe is that a character is named Crwys, but the author doesn't explain that it is a Welsh name, so it is easy to assume she is just making her own special spelling -- as some authors do these days.

Entertaining, thoughtful, and tricky. This is my first time reading Ms Weldon's books and I really enjoyed it. Elemental Arcane touched on a lot of the aspects of witch magic and made you sympathizing with Sam and her friends. I wanted Sam to make different choices but know that the choices she made will determine her actions in the remaining books of the series. If you enjoy reading about magic and other world dealings, you will like this book.

Gave 5 stars.......wow, loved the story line, characters. I couldn't stop reading , if u like witches, dragons, series, vamp, changing, demons. This is choc full, non stop thrills, a must read. Can't wait to start reading #2 in the series....late teen -and up. A bit gory at times.

Definitely not what I expected, it was better. The first chapter threw me off making me put it down for a while wondering if it was worth my time. It really wasn't what I was expecting, but being me I gave it a second chance and Weldon welded her magic over me and drew me into the ever exciting world of Samantha Hawthorne. Now I'm hooked and can't get enough. Glad I decided to keep reading because with every new page it gets better and better!
