Summary: A new chapter in the New York Times bestselling Morganville Vampires saga. Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell...

I found this series about two years ago, and I'm so glad I did. Glass Houses, the first book in the series introduces the characters that you become extremely attached to by Kiss of Death. The main character Claire is a seventeen year old genius, who through out the series becomes so strong and brave you just can't help wanting to be her. Plus she gets an amazing guy.

This series stands out from all the many other YA vampire novels, and series' that are out there. In the town of Morganville, vampires rule over the humans, and it's very hard to tell the good from the bad. So the characters always keep you guessing.

I was a bit worried about Kiss of Death. In the last book there was a happy ending and most problems were resolved. So I wasn't sure how another plot would be thrown in. Of course I was wrong, Rachel Caine made a fantastic new plot that flowed right into the series. Kiss of Death, just like the last 7 books, kept me on the edge and in anticipation of what would happen next.

Another thing I loved about this book was it didn't have a huge cliff hanger like most in this series had. It makes waiting for the next book bearable, and of course I'll still buy it when it comes out. I'm so addicted to the characters it would be hard not to. I'd seriously steal Shane from Claire if I had the chance. I'm in love with him. (Sorry Claire)

If you haven't read this series yet, you are crazy. I don't care if you say you're tired of all the vampire novels, these books will blow your mind!

I loved it. The foursome enjoyed a trip outside of Morganville, and quickly discovered trouble, courtesy of the late Bishop, found them anyway. Claire seemed to have found a new measure of respect in Oliver's eyes, and Shane proved his love for Claire by deciding to return to Morganville with her. I am curious just how far Michael's career can go, trapped as he is...but then maybe Caine is setting up for more weekend adventure trips. I am also curious to see how Jason Rosser's character will develop. He seems to be attempting to redeem himself.

What I love the most about this series that always keeps me coming back, though, is Caine's creativity and consistency. I love the weird, wacky characters, and the fact the she also includes the major four characters we love. She is able to introduce new charcters without stealing the story from Claire, Shane, Eve, and Michael. Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was just because I found a few parts of the book a little sleepy.

Kiss of Death was fairly entertaining, but when I read the description on the back, I was hoping for something different. Claire and her friends were going to Dallas, so Michael could record an album. However, they run into problems on the way there. I was really hoping that the setting would be in a more interesting and different place, like Dallas, but instead, it was set in two towns that were smaller than Morganville. It was just kind of disappointing, and the action wasn't anything different. It was still interesting, though, and I'm for sure going to read the next book in the series.

Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael have been tested beyond what is normal for humans, but in "Kiss of Death," the common vampire story goes to extreme quickly. Caine has created a page turner that makes you cringe each time you turn the page because you aren't sure if you want to know what happens next, but yet, you can't help yourself because you need to know what happens. Of all the books in the series, this one has the most suspense, drama and action -- making it a turning point for Claire and her friends, and the future of Morganville.

I really wish these books longer. There are so many things that are compacted into bits so short I feel like I'm reading a synopsis for parts of the story. That being said I feel like this was a stronger story than most of the others have been.

Shane, Eve, Clair and Michael get a temporary pass out of Morganville to head for Dallas where Michael has a recording session. As always, disaster ensues. The book focuses not on Dallas, but the trip there and the possibilities of not returning to Morganville. In a small town, the crew along with their out of town guardian, Oliver, locate a group of vampires created by Bishop that have lost all but the ability to hunt and feed, killing most of the towns population.

I have to say, I didn't care for Morganville's absence in most of this book. It's been such a large part of the story thus far that it felt like a missing character.

Another great book in the series. Claire, Shane, Michael and Eve finally get a temporary pass out of Morganville and they do not get far before the trouble begins. I love how Claire's strength and character has developed. On the surface at the beginning of the series, she seemed like such an easy target. She continues to surprise me, and, apparently, her housemates and everyone else. I love the relationships and interactions between Claire, Shane, Michael and Eve ... Some of the dialogue makes me laugh out loud.

Great book. So many people have summarized it, so I won't bother. I recommend this book, but only if you read the entire series. It is not a stand alone book. It is good and even though it is supposed to be for teens, I am 30 and enjoy the series.

Kiss of Death is a nice addition to the Morganville series. I'm amazed that Rachel Caine is able to continue these characters' stories and relationships in each book without the writing becoming trite. Applause for Rachel, and thumbs up to this book.

For whatever reason this book is not available in the United States for the Kindle. It is quite aggravating to purchase a majority of books in a series on the Kindle only to suddenly have to purchase either a paperback and/or hardcover to continue in the series. I purchased the Kindle specifically so that I would not have to have boxes full of paperbacks lying about the house. I don't know how the story will go because I just don't think it is fair or right that this book could be purchase overseas, but not in the United States on Kindle. I am happy to have this off my chest and now am questioning whether to continue with Kindle or just start going back to the library and getting the books there. I don't know what excuse you can offer but I would be interested in hearing why it isn't available to us here in the USA.Kiss of Death (Morganville Vampires, Book 8)
