Lehane captivates with another woven tale that is so vivid it's like saying goodbye to friends. You can't help but feel the sad recognition that justice isn't always fair. It's an Entertaining, unpredictable mystery.

Gone, Baby, Gone is an exciting thriller with many well described characters that
lead you into an frantic search for a missing little girl. I will read more books
written by this thoughtful author.

I like these books because they are fun, easy reads that keep you interested and keep moving. I have read a lot of Lehane and definitely liked this one. I did watch the move afterwards and that was fun too.

Enjoyed (as usual) my 4th Kenzie novel, although I felt a bit antsy in the early going while the plot line was being developed. I did not think at first that I wanted to continue reading a book involving kidnapping a 4-yr-old girl, but then I got thoroughly engrossed. The wrap up of the intricate plot was especially well done.

Being a person who likes to read mystery stories, this book had a good plot, well written and held my interest throughout the book. It is also the reason I purchased I will probably purchase others books written by him.

While crimes against children are hard to read about the male and female detective duo in this novel kept me thinking and right in the game with them because of their character and compassion for children. Just when I thought the book was ending, here came a surprise little twist in the end!

The ending wrenched my heart. There is so much ugliness in the world with innocent children in the middle of it all. Mr. Lehane painted a very vivid picture of this world, full of good intentions, blind eyes and righteousness.

I read "The Given Day" by Dennis Lehane and enjoyed it very much. However, I got part way into this book and quit when he described one of his main characters, the dull, witless woman who allowed her child to be abducted, in conservative caricature terms. Seems Dennis is a typical Boston Liberal. I suspect, even though I am a military combat veteran and have a graduate degree, he'd describe me the same way. Am I being thin skinned? Maybe. But that's just the way I feel.

This was a thought provoking book by Dennis Lehane. Patrick and Angela were very vivid characters that anyone could relate to. Hard to put down once started. What would you do in the same situation?

This novel was an original. When I finished reading, practically non- stop, I thought "this is a tragedy." Not a tragedy in the usual sense, but a Greek tragedy. I wondered how I would have handled the situation, but could not decide, I think I would have followed my heart and not the law.
