While I appreciate the courage it must have taken the author to write this story of her life I found this book difficult to follow. It jumps around in time which in this particular case made it difficult for me to really gain a sense of what the author's journey entailed. If you are looking for a book that reads like a story versus an informative resource on transgendered individuals then this might be for you. Personally I was hoping for more of the latter.

This is an outstanding look at male to female transgender issues. It's also very compelling and a great story. This is highly recommended for anyone trying to come to terms with transgender issues. It's so good I could read it again. This is the story of a male to female transgender, including a discussion of all the years of struggle, denial, attempts at 'curing' it and finally accepting it. The story is mostly about Jenny Boylan's struggle for identity, to be who she really is, including false starts and mistakes.

It is very interesting the past people that she did run into from her previous life as a male. However, one thing that sort of threw me off about the book was how it seemed to be disjointed and went from one time to a totally different time. I am still grateful for her courage in writing on it and have not been able to progress too far into the book so it may change my ideas, but I am just grateful that there are books dealing specifically with transitioning.

Jenny is an acquaintance of mine and a Transgender sister. Her story rings familiar to many of us. Doing what we're expected to while knowing it's not our true path. Be it culture, occupation, lifestyle, relationships, or in our cases gender identity.

I read this book to get a greater understanding of the subject. This very personal account helped me truly comprehend a life that is very far from my experience. I am grateful to the author and her wife for being so honest.

I just finished reading this book. It was written with a fairly light style, even though the topic was serious. It's also not rated "R", which I appreciated. It's a fascinating story about love and friendship. If this is a topic that interests you, READ IT!

Jenny Finney Boylan has written a beautiful book that helped me wrap my head around this issue. Transgender was a odd mystery to me. After reading this honest and funny book, I have a better understanding of what it must be like stuck in a body that doesn't match your internal sense of oneself. As a college administrator working with students and parents, this book is worth reading and sharing. Thanks Ms. Boylan.

I just finished reading this book for a Human Sexuality class I am taking. It doesn't just give you a better understanding of the life of a person who is transgender, but it also encourages everyone to be themselves and to do whatever you can to achieve self fulfillment.

This book is really a great book for all transgendered women to read as it describes many different real life typical experiences and dilemma's that help accept the challenges we have to go through and how to not only survive them but to thrive from them! Thank you Jennifer for writing it!
