The Beautiful Struggle: A Memoir
The Beautiful Struggle: A Memoir

Review:Coates' book is a public appreciation of his parents' labors to keep him alive physically, mentally, and spiritually during the crack wars that coincided with his turbulent teenage years. He makes it out. But the trail wound around some hairpin curves overlooking precipitous cliffs that stopped the heart cold. He knows how close he and his siblings came to falling over the edge. He was lucky in his all-too-human father who was always there when the principal called to say Coates misbehaved a... Read more

The World According to Mister Rogers - Important Things to Remember
The World According to Mister Rogers - Important Things to Remember

Review:Recently was in the hospital where they had a book similar to this. I’m only giving 4/5 because it isn’t the exact book I wanted though it’s the same title.
Great quotes and fun to read. Small little book full of goodness. I wish there was a book with ALL his quotes in 1 instead of 3 or more. Read more

Toilet Training in Less Than a Day
Toilet Training in Less Than a Day

Review:I've now used this method/book to potty train two of my children. It really works and it works fast! My pediatrician was the one who initially recommended it to me. This book is not a light read--it's real info based on research and trials so it may take a little while to get through it. I'd start at least a month before you wish to have the potty training day so you can read, review, gather supplies, and prepare yourself. It's pretty exhausting for mom (as other reviewers have said) but it's wo... Read more

Mom & Me & Mom
Mom & Me & Mom

Review:I enjoyed this so much, because, she writes with words that I would use every day. When, she describes the time spent with her mother, it makes me cry; because, I really understand! I think most daughters have a love/hate relationship with Mom. Read more

A No-Stress, No-Rules Journal - Mother & Daughter

Review:Perfect level for my 10-year old daughter. We've picked our "secret" drop-off location and enjoy reading each others' entries. Neither of us typically write on a daily, or even weekly, basis, but this format is easy and enjoyable. Love it! Read more

and Advice on First-Year Maintenance (Owner's and Instruction Manual)
and Advice on First-Year Maintenance (Owner's and Instruction Manual)

Review:easy read and loaded with facts. several other books i read tried to go the humorous route which i understand, but didn't find nearly as useful. not that this book is dry, but it gets into the details (e.g., did you know you should keep any humidifiers at least 4 feet away from the crib to prevent bacteria growth? i didn't. and the 3 books i read before this one didn't mention it either).

well worth the read. lots of helpful charts and tables at the back if you are intent on tracking... Read more
