I have become so engrossed in The Kingfountain Series. I miss some of the original characters but grow attached to the new ones in each book. As I wait for the next book to come out I will order the prequel...just to make sure I haven't missed anything.

Tryneowy Kiskaddon's father is missing. Her mother is overcome by grief. Her country is reeling from the Battle of Guilme where her king and countrymen were nearly annihilated. King Gahalatine has promised them a year to prepare for his return to conquer their country. In order to prepare for his return Trynne has begun training women from all over the country to be Oath Maidens, ready to defend home and hearth. As old enemies attack and new threats arise, Trynne has to discover who she can trust, for people are never as they seem. Will she have the strength to follow the Fountain's will? Can she save her kingdom and those she loves the most? Will the Fountain require a sacrifice too great for her to bare?

Jeff Wheeler's next installment of the Kingfountain Series continues with the story of sixteen year old Tryneowy Kiskaddon. This is a dark time for Tryynenne. She experiences a lot of trials and heartache. The fountain truly tests her, as it once did her father, to see if she is worthy of its influence, to see if she would follow, no matter what is required. She learns a lot about herself and others as she tries to defend her kingdom from King Gahalatine and other threats from within. Her strength and integrity are tested, her heart is broken, she begrudges the duties forced upon her. She will have to overcome it all to become who the Fountain needs her to be.

I received a free digital copy in return for my honest review.

Jeff wheeler just keepsdelivering good reads. This book is no exception. It is full of adventure, action and a bit of romance. I like that he uses past legends to shape parts of his story. I'm glad we have a female heroine, one who knows what she believes and won't be lead astray, one who is petite but can still kick butt and one who is completely selfless in her actions. It makes me think what decisions I would make if I were in Trynne's shoes. The only very minor issue I have is that sometime I would like to see the characters that fall in love actually get to be together. I'm hoping that, like with Evie and Owen, things work out but my heart is still breaking for Fallon. I'm eager to read the last book and find out some answers to the questions this book left us with. In the mean time I think I will pick up Mr. Wheelers Muirwood series. I received this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The Maid's War (a Kingfountain prequel) (The Kingfountain Series) :: Queen of Wands (The Tree of Ages Series Book 4) :: The Ciphers of Muirwood (Covenant of Muirwood Book 2) :: The Hollow Crown (Kingfountain) :: The Sparrow Sisters: A Novel

So after reading the entire series, here's my review for what it's worth. It's a decent story overall and my favorite out of the series was the first book. However, after that the entire series kind of reads like a series of romance novels. The author tends to emotionally gush. Alot. Everybody's heart is either breaking or emotions are aflutter every other paragraph. I get some of that, but half of it could go away and I'd feel like it was a better story. In the first novel the idea of the Fountain-blessed is that they are supposed to be rare. After the first book though, they seem to pop up everywhere and are not so rare. Everyone is also supposed to be different with their powers or sort of a fantasy version of super heros, yet Trynne seems to have the same as her father plus others. After the first 3 books, I don't feel like the main characters are ever really in danger and it became predictable. It's a decent story but could have been better I feel.

I originally loved the Kingfountain Series because it was so clean, and also so different from the Muirwood series that I had read, but this book poorly attempts to weave the two series together.

I was very disappointed to find so many items in this book that the author has pulled from other books he has written. Gives me the feeling that he's just too l lazy too come up with new words/content.

Intentionally foretelling in the sense of all tragic heroes. However, not really a tragedy. The heroine is inspiring. Yes, intrigue, manipulated good guys, insidious villains, and a heroine striving to maintain her oaths, her obligations, and her honor.

These books are simply wonderful! All of the characters are strong and maybe not all likeable at first, but you do find yourself rooting for most of them. Not so much most of the Wizrs! The story like the others before it will send all of your emotions on a whirlwind!!! I can not recommended these books strongly enough...if you love the stories of King Arthur, then you will love these as well.

The author does an astounding job crafting the story to pull the reader in! The characters are well developed and the different kingdoms are well tied together I'm gifting this series to my middle schooler. The deeper message of integrity, discernment, & what love looks like are
fantastic! 10 star rating!

The Silent Shield continues the story of Trewyne, a woman who becomes a wizard and a knight to protect her king and kingdom. This book shows her development of the Oath Maidens as fighters, and the ongoing conflict with a larger, more magically powerful nation. Lots of action, intrigue, plus good discussions of ethical behaviors and the cost of kingdom -wide political decisions.

I laughed. I cried, oh, I cried. An anguished "NO!" A triumphant "YES!" My hands over my eyes, "I can't watch!" What? Wait. I've got to watch, I'm reading... I knew how it had to end, but was still surprised.

This whole series has lead to many a sleepless nights as I stay up to learn more about the people of Kingsfountain. I rejoiced when I found links to the world of Muirwood. Trynne is a heroine all little girls should look up to, indeed all of us regardless of age or gender should look up to her.
This is a must read for anyone who loves well written characters in there fantasy novels.

I have really enjoyed this fantasy series. It is clean, with lots of action but no gory details. I would rate all of them 5 stars except the first one in which Trynne appeared. I didn't like her at first as much as some of the other characters. But she grew on me in this book, and I liked the ending. Can't wait to read the next book.

Love it! Again another great story. I am sorry to see the story coming to an end. I love the tie in to the Mirrowen story and Muirwood. Family, Loyalty, destiny, faith, strength in virtues and honor.

Proverbs 23:7 too! He said, eat and drink; but his heart was not with them...

Just great stuff. The ending actually created strong emotions.

I truly appreciate how the plot unfolds; especially in a direction I had not thought about. This series is also inspiring; encouraging the reader to personally be a better person. Once I began to read the 4th and 5th book ? n this series, I had trouble putting it down.

I enjoy Jeff Wheeler series because of the rich mingling of known tales and legends. He weaves them into his stories enough so you get a glimpse or hint of something you know. I know what direction I would like the story to take so we'll see where he takes us. I can highly recommend. Gbash

The Kingfountain series is awesome. You'll love, hate, laugh and cry. There is always something new and exciting waiting with each turn of the page. The one is the saddest out of the series in my opinion. One of my favorite chacters dies... still a page turner though.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I blazed through it. The characters were compelling and there was always something interesting happening! This not the end of the series, but it was a fitting end to this story arc!

This series continues to succeed. Very readable with characters who inspire and confound. Inspired by the legend of King Arthur, but in a very well crafted world of its own. I am looking forward to the next book.

This series has certainly grabbed my attention. I'm intrigued by the characters, the premise and the foreign worlds Jeff has created to dazzle his readers. I look forward to the final installment of the series in November.
