I enjoyed this series immensely! I could hardly wait for the author to finish each book. I stopped reading a different series just to read more of this one. It has just the right amount of mystery and magic. I loved it. I will buy more from this author in the future.

The difference between this book and the first book in the Kingfountain series is striking. The plot became so much more intricate with intrigue (sometimes I felt like there was almost too much going on) and the worlds literally expand. I have to commend the author for creating well-developed, strong female characters. I felt invested in the character's stories and it certainly kept me reading.

This series was spellbinding. I would recommend not just one movie, but many. Family friendly and exciting as well. Unlike, Game of Thrones, the entire family and friends can enjoy these stories together.

Although this is fiction and fantasy laced with the the paranormal there are many morals , to be learned, as they apply to us in this world. Follow your dreams but listen to your soul. Believe in your values and ethics. Work hard and never give up. In this alone you shall find your Reward.

Well written re-imagining of the Arthurian legends. Deep and vibrant characters in an even more vibrant world(s). Tactfully explored the depths of human emotion from dark to light in a simple, tasteful way... surprisingly evocative without overly gory details! Loved every book!

I really want to understand how water can SOMETIMES touch Trynne and others it doesn't. Like... it got to the point it made me want to nitpick this book more then enjoy it. It's such a small thing...but it matters!

Jeff wheeler outdid himself on this one. Tying all his stories and worlds together was ingenious. The storyline and the characters are so easy to love. You become so attached you can't put his books down until you find out what happens to them. Great read! Can't wait for tbe next one!!

Reader thoughts:
Such emotional turmoil! I keep hoping JW will be nice to his characters and stop putting them through such heartache (and heartbreak!). Poor Trynne has to deal with EVERYTHING in the space of a few months, and she deals with it almost too maturely. (Remember, she is only 16/17, and emotions are tough at that age regardless of what happens to your family/kingdom/best friend/husband/duchy/magic/captain).

Trynne has almost no support (except for the amazing Captain Stalley! sp?). She faces wisers who use magic to make the entire court hate her (two courts, actually). She faces magic in dimensional traveling that has unexpected costs, and she faces a hapless, tragic marriage.

I loved the end! Despite all the problems with everything, the end turned out well, and it wasn't overly saccharine, either. It had some bittersweetness that came at just the right time in the story.

I sometimes lost track of who (good guys? Bad guys? Morwenna?) had certain magical objects. A few times I was surprised to hear that this character or that suddenly had this ring or that staff thing. I need to pay closer attention when I read.

The Kingfountain characters are so noble, and I love that they continually make the right choices when they know the right thing to do.

Writer thoughts:
I love reading about these characters, but it almost feels a touch fake, too, since real people DO make mistakes now and then. I wonder how JW manages to balance good, noble characters with ones that feel so real. Maybe making the characters lose so often in the outer struggles, it doesn't feel as odd that they win so often at the inner struggles.

Loved the whole series. The only reason not 5 stars is nothing is perfect. Was happy at the end and really want to know what happened with the refugees. I hope another book is written, but understand if not. Again Great read.

I liked the series and cared about the characters, but I felt lost when they went to the other world. I guess that was a nod to the Muirwood fans, but I haven't read those, so I was confused. And Myrddin/Merlin writing on gold plates was a weird allusion to Mormonism that felt really out of place.
