First read Proof of Heaven , then review some of Dr Alexander's videos on youtube....then read this book slowly with a highlighter...and note the passages of brilliance. You will not be disappointed.

In order to raise our consciousness above materialism and fear we must overcome being dazzled by the illusion of materialism ...and become fearless. To understand the unseen we must become the unseen. The only way to understand anything is to understand it's "essence".....

Work your way to seeing yourself as a spirit first and foremost...and your body as a temporary container....dont worry this will take you some time.

That big step aside......

I applaud Dr Alexander for being fearless in delivering his messages about the afterlife....and sharing stories of others .

He acts as a guide and uses language the best he can to convey a story that is almost impossible to tell....

It's ok if you can't follow and understand all of his references and examples, this subject will take years to sink into all of us...just think of it as a global journey away from believing that death is the end ...it is only a transition. God's love is the power behind everything , and it sustains everything..... fear is just part of the illusion the bigger part is that we can be separated from the Creator of All That There Is. Which of course , we can not.....

We have been trained to think "scientifically " and that is part of the problem....it is too limiting and fails to take into account those things that can not be measured ....Our consciousness cannot be limited ...unless we allow it to be.

Dr Alexander's consciousness has been released and he's trying to help release the rest of us...

As shared, been "There", so can verify this book is correct and accurate....but, is much much more though!!! In a very good way and beyond description!!! He referenced in his first book, at the end, that he went to the Monroe Institute, to learn OBE's (Out of Body Experiences), which they teach in week long courses. I went there 4 times in the 90's, and as a skeptical Doc as well, learned what he learned in the books, and more, as have OBE'd There, many many times. He gives a great description in this book, and inserts many letters written to him of others having personal experiences....and they are accurate too. Enjoy this book, as a great read, and an insight that we ALL will have when we die! If you want your own potential preview in person/spirit, then go to The Monroe Institute.org ......you not be unimpressed!!!! BTW...am not affiliated with TMI at all.

This brings history, philosophy, science, centuries of spiritual experience, religion and personal story together into a comprehensive yet understandable picture and path to follow. I read the whole book the first day I received it and would recommend it to any 21st century seeker of the Truth.

A very interesting explanation of what had happened to Eben Alexander MD and what he saw. He made me feel that he did hear and see the things he reported. It's up to me now to believe what happened actually did happen.

Very inspiring, moving. Reading other people's accounts of their journey to the "many mansions" of heaven, the beauty,love and truth revealed was so wonderful to have confirmed. A collective family of souls who try to describe the indescribable, it breaks the bonds of this illusory world and reveals how real Heaven is. Dr. Alexander has put together his and others experiences and wove them into a wonderful tapestry of life ...to be unafraid of the next part of our journey. To embrace while we are here compassion, kindness and love and always laughter, joy. I am still moved to tears with the memories. Thank you.

I read Eben Alexander's first book ("Proof of Heaven") because a friend had recommended it but to be honest I didn't really enjoy it, I thought it was little more than the account of a mysterious subjective experience, hence no doubt a watershed for the individual concerned but not that meaningful for everybody else (well, for me at any rate..I know that it was in fact a best-seller). This, however, is a completely different book, more "philosophical" and at the same time very easy to read - I thoroughly enjoyed it (although this does not mean that I fully agree with the author's speculations/conclusions). Very informative and clear.

After reading Proof of Heaven and attending a workshop by
Dr Alexander I couldn't wait to get his second book. Several
chapters really connected with what I'm feeling and experiencing.
Hope book three is about to appear soon.

I admire this scientist accepting something that he didn't believe in or understand before his experience with God. I have known many like him, that just couldn't believe what they couldn't touch, or test, or prove, including myself. In this book, he gets a little too detailed, for me, when trying to explain his understanding of the universe and how we relate to God. Some of his letters that he includes are not as remarkable as many of the experiences that I have read about. My own experience, with almost dying and hearing Jesus speak to me and being filled with the Holy Spirit and some of the same knowledge that Dr. Alexander learned in his experience, seemed even more exciting then many of the letters he included in his book. I guess I never gave my experience the credit that it deserved. However, the knowledge the doctor received that this life is just a classroom to give us the opportunity to learn how to Love, which prepares us for the next life, is exactly the knowledge the Holy Spirit gave me.

I was somewhat reluctant to get his 2nd book based on some reviews I've read. If you liked proof of Heaven, you'll love this. It goes way beyond the first writing and does a lot of probing and study about the universe, our spiritual existence and the reality of the afterlife. He stays away from a religious dogma rant and explains things very well. Be prepared to do some homework on his reference material.
