Reviewing books is pretty subjective. I love science fiction and it's pretty much all I read. I've read all of Margaret Atwood and Joan Vinge and Robert Heinlein and Philip Dick and especially James SA Corey (I burned through 5,000 pages of The Expanse in a month). The hook is important and this book has a huge hook upfront, you will start reading it and pretty much from the first 10 pages, you'll be caught and want to read more. The story revolves around a person who can dissociate from his corporeal body and stop time, which is a pretty good trick if you think about it. And while I really liked the story and the plot, I'm not a huge fan of the author's writing style. The sentence structure is short and to the point. It's written in first person, and it seems a bit like a hard-boiled Lee Child book set in a science fiction universe. I suppose I prefer an author who tells a story as well as a plot. One whose narration isn't quite as self-centered as "hey, I'm a good looking guy who likes hot girls that are 24". Hmmmm.
So if you like a book with a great plot and a big hook at the front end, and can get past the less sophisticated writing style, along with a narcissistic hero, and you like science fiction, this is likely to be a good read, that will keep you entertained for over 1,000 pages. For me, it was an introduction to a new author, but one I probably wouldn't go out of my way to read again.
I received this book at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review (which you can tell I just gave you...)

The Mind Dimensions Omnibus is an extremely fascinating world, with a well thought out background behind its key plot tool, the ability to “phase” out of the current reality and into a frozen dimension. I even liked the division of the users into two separate groups, the Readers and the Pushers. However, as fascinating as the books were, (and don’t get me wrong even with my gripes I was extremely interested in the story and kept wanting to read just one more chapter) there were some things I thought could have done been done better.
In regards to the two societies, while I thought the characters were magnificent, I felt as the books went on the main character tended to rely much more heavily on his Pusher abilities, and throughout they felt like the much more useful and practical skill. While his Reader abilities complimented his pushing ability, his over reliance on Pushing towards the end of the book left me feeling like a missed opportunity to explore the Reader power.
The part where the main characters goes TOO far back was one of those really fascinating moments that I felt could’ve been replicated or expanded upon much better.
The other main gripe I had with the main character is that he never seemed to fully grasp his abilities. Too often he found himself in a situation because he rushed in without using his Mind Dimension. And while I can partially credit this to his impatient nature, for someone so intimate with the Mind Dimension there were a quite a few times where I was practically screaming at him to phase out and check things out before moving on and he didn’t. I know this probably would’ve made for a less exciting and dynamic story, and probably add a few hundred pages to the book, but it’s also a credit to the author that I wanted to see more and more of these abilities.
These minor (and probably biased) points aside, the character developments was really well done. The insight into all different manner of mind was fascinating, and quite often my initial impression of characters was not correct, which usually means that the author managed to portray many sides to them without relying on stereotypes. There were quite a few surprises and twists that were cleverly done and set up throughout the books.
Lastly, the writing was well done, I saw few if any errors in grammar or spelling, and the pacing of the books was very well done. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fascinating universe, well developed characters and a touch of intrigue and mystery.

The Time Stopper (Mind Dimensions #0.5)
The Time Stopper a short novella that is a prequel to the Mind Dimensions series.
Mira is a though reader and able to Split – meaning she can stop time and leave her body. We get a great insight into what she does when she Splits as she is looking for her parents killers, she watched them die in a car explosion and now she wants revenge. When she Splits she sees herself and everything from all angles – the beginning she is in a smoke filled room and the way it is described in her split state is just brilliant.
The whole idea of Splitting is totally fascinating to me and I was hooked from the beginning, I absolutely loved the premise of the whole storyline and was glad I was able to move straight on to book 1 in the series. This is a great short book to introduce you to the series and I cant wait to read more, I am well and truly hooked.
The Thought Readers (Mind Dimensions #1)
We meet Darren in this book and whilst is out at a Casino winning, he comes across Mira when she sits at his table and does her Split. Only he calls the Quiet. He wasn't aware that there were others like him and when she takes off running from the Casino and when he gets detained for "playing the system" he managed to get info on Mira which he later uses when he enlists a help from his hacker friend to track her down.
After previous reading The Time Stopper before starting this box set, I just dived right in to this book and I could not put it down. It was so engrossing and when Darren meets Eugene Mira's brother and they theorise about how they do what they do I was just sucked right in to the story.
He also learns from Eugene that he is a Reader. Apparently Readers are good and Pushers are bad - interesting concept about the two. That opens up even more questions for Darren.
The book doesn't really have an ending per say as there are a few surprises that I wasn't expecting.
The Thought Pushers (Mind Dimensions #2)
This picks right up where we left off in Thought Readers. In this book we are thrown into the world of the Pushers and see Darren coming to terms with things from book 1. He can read people but he can also push them, and from what everyone knows this is pretty much unheard of!
This was a much more intense read and I am sucked in even more to this series, I don't want to do any spoilers but this is just getting better and better.
The Enlightened (Mind Dimensions #3)
This series just keeps getting better. We now are introduced to a new group called The Enlightened and they can enter the Quiet. This book in the series has twists that I was not expecting at all, it is told from Darren's POV which I loved. There was so much going on that this was a really intense fast read.
The Elders (Mind Dimensions #4)
The Elders is the conclusion to the Mind Dimensions series - though I really hope it not the last we hear of the characters. I have loved this series even tough the whole sci fi genre isn't really my thing. This series will suck you right in with its fast paced and intriguing storyline.
Darren finally gets answers to his questions but not without him having to set on a journey to find the Super Pusher. This has just as much twists and turn at the previous book but you will be hooked as you follow Darren on his quest to reach Level 2.
I would definitely recommend this book and step out of your genre comfort zone as you will not be disappointed!

I, like most people of my generation, enjoy series best when I can get as much as possible of it without a wait. I am willing to wait for great content, but if I can get a big chunk at one time I am a happy reader. I hadn't heard of Dima Zales before this, but I am a big fan of science fiction and I'm always happy to read something new.
I really enjoyed this series, I found it to be a great concept overall. It felt really unique in a world of almost copy and paste story lines. Super powers aren't exactly a new idea but this series took what felt like a new direction with them. I never felt like I was reading a rehash of another story. Even the successive stories in the series didn't feel repetitive, which was actually a nice change of pace from some series I've read.
I enjoyed following Darren through the series. I found his moral ambiguity to be refreshing. He wasn't just a good guy or just a bad guy, he was just a guy who found himself in some extraordinary circumstances. And like most of us, he would take advantage of his abilities to his own ends. He isn't evil or corrupt, he just isn't ashamed of making the best of his circumstances. I really felt like I connected to him because he felt like a regular guy.
I don't really want to give away any of the plot but as you can imagine in a world where extraordinary powers are possible, there are some pretty extraordinary circumstances that arise and people have to deal with them. The people who have to deal with them may have powers you or I can only dream of, but they're still just people, with all their faults, flaws, virtues, and problems. They aren't one dimensional caricatures used just to make clear the moral of the story.
I definitely recommend giving this a read. If you're a fan of science fiction and you love reading about ordinary people in extraordinary situations, this is a series for you.

It is difficult to write a detailed review without giving away parts of these books to those who have not yet read them. I will try to stick to generalizations to keep from giving anything away.
I enjoy both fantasy and technical science fiction as genres. This series of novels combines the best of both as you are transported into the high stakes world of "Readers" and "Pushers." The first volume introduces you to Darren, who will become one of the more pivotal characters as the series progresses.
The premise, plot, and character development of this series is great. You actually care about what is happening to the characters and parts of the books will have you on the edge of your seat wondering how a character will get out of a tight spot. The scientific explanation for things, while kind of silly, is adequate to allow the reader to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy the novels.
I will note that these are not novels for children or young adults, even if they are advanced readers. The novels portray sex, drugs, gambling, and violence (seriously, a great deal of violence) in a way that is gritty and feels realistic but is not appropriate for a younger audience. The graphic violence may also be a turnoff for some adult readers, though it did not bother me.
Generally when reading novels in a series, I get to the end of a book and am on the edge of my seat for months waiting for the next book to be released (or years, in the case of Game of Thrones). Here, the entire series is available in one collection so there is no need to wait between books. Unlike many novels written in series, the second through fifth books do not waste the first third of the book recapping what happened in the prior books, which is nice.
I was offered the opportunity to read this series for free in order to provide my honest and unbiased review of it. I really enjoyed these novels and if you enjoy science fiction or fantasy and don't mind reading about violence, I expect you will enjoy them as well. I would not be surprised to see a series of movies coming out of these books in the next few years.

This is review of an epub version of Mind Dimensions Omnibus by Dima Zales.
This is a general review of writing, enjoyability, ideal audience etc. for the omnibus edition of Dima Zales' Mind Dimensions series. There are no plot giveaways.
Disclaimer: I am a sci-fi fan. Everything from Star Trek to Star Wars and everything in between. Almost every book/Tv show/Movie with a sci-fi bent will hold my interest.
Mind Dimensions is a 4 book series (or 5 if you count a short prequel delivered as the second part here in the omnibus). I was hooked on the fascinating concept almost from the first page. It has a unique twist on many sci-fi concepts that you will probably have come across and is an enjoyable fast paced read. I found it it excellent light entertainment for a business trip and finished all books in only a few evenings.
This is not Carl Sagan or Jules Verne, I did not expect it and it doesn't need to be. Although I thoroughly enjoyed following the plot across the books I did not find the character development very deep and I would say that this book would be most appealing to a young adult audience with some mature concepts thrown in to titillate those coming of age minds.
If you love sci-fi for sci-fi's sake as I do then I can recommend this book and believe that you will be able to overcome any shortcomings in character development for the love of the interesting sci-fi concept.
I plan to check out some more of Zales' work after this read.
I received my ibooks (e-Pub) version of this book at a discount in exchange for an honest unbiased review. These reviews are my own and not influenced by a discount. If you are a sci-fi fan I believe you will enjoy these works and as such I rate it a 4 star read.

I received this ebook in exchanged for an honest review. I will be updating this review as I go since there is a high chance that I will forget everything about it if I wait until I finish all four books and in the order I read them.
The Thought Readers: This is a fairly interesting introduction to the world of Thought Readers. The protagonist, Darren, can freeze time have his consciousness separate from his body. While time is frozen he cannot really effect the world, but he can learn things, read a book, do whatever. He encounters Mira and Eugene, one gets kidnapped, they go to a society and story arcs blah blah blah I don't want to give spoilers. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good read. At some points it becomes predictable, but that doesn't make it any less interesting. The story is face paced enough that the predictability can be overlooked. As this is the initial novel in a series, the only character that really has any depth is the protagonist. The supporting cast pretty much are one trick ponies. That's not to say that there aren't a couple of delightful characters because I thoroughly enjoyed Caleb... everyone else I could go either way. I would recommend this book to anyone who has time for a quick read; I think I finished it over a few days (totaled only a few hours). It's easy, it's interesting, why no give it a try?
The Time Stopper: This short story is told from the point of view of Mira. I like her only because she can kick some tail. Otherwise she reads exactly like Darren. This short compared with the first story there really isn't much difference, which is interesting because there was lots of mention of Mira's sarcasm and spunky attitude. Didn't get much of that in this book so I was a bit disappointed. The story, on the other hand, was pretty good. It gives some history of Mira and her brother Eugene. Mira kicks butt and makes some unconventional friends. This would be a great little short if she had some personality.

The concepts of mind-reading and time freezing, coupled with action will appeal to a range of ages, including pre-teens and teens, although I would suggest for teens and up. There is some content that should be reserved for a slightly more mature audience, vs. say, pre-teens. Others have left reviews about the storyline so I will not repeat what can be read elsewhere. The books are easy to read and keep your interest. Easy to pick up, hard to put down; but when you have to, it's easy to pick up where you left off--within a single book or the series. There was a pretty good time gap between reading the first books and the very last one in this set and it, like the others, are written so your memory is jogged and you don't have to re-read anything in the previous books to move through the book. The books are interesting and contain interesting sci-fi concepts/abilities many would like to have themselves. The storyline is full of twists and turns and you learn along with the main character as he learns more and more about how his powers work and about others who have powers like his. Others have left reviews about the storyline so I will not repeat what can be read elsewhere. I don't generally like series that make you have to move on to the next book to feel a sense of story satisfaction; but unlike many series, that is something done well with this series. If you never finished the series, you would still feel a sense of conclusion when you complete the current book, but enough of a door is left open that you would greatly enjoy reading the next. I recommend this series.

Disclaimer: I received this product for free or at a discount for my honest and unbiased review.
After reading the first chapter I found myself very bored of this book. The author reveals far too much, far too quickly in my opinion. Within the first chapter the protagonist goes from viewing his ability as a mundane oddity in his life to having those thoughts utterly destroyed. It would have been more interesting to give readers more of a chance to experience his life before this big reveal. It does get a little better in the next few chapters, but I couldn't really get into it.
I'll go over some of the main problems for me. In the first chapter there's so much exposition that I just wanted it to end. If the book had started a little more slowly then such heavy exposition wouldn't have been necessary. At a later point in the book you begin meeting others with other kinds of abilities. Another strange thing that the author did was give names to these different groups of people. These people divide themselves into these groups and then throw in group specific rules that seem out of place. On top of that, the names for these groups are just strange. I won't give it away, but it would be like a bunch of marathoners grouping up, calling themselves runners, and then creating rules so no runners could mingle with other groups. It's just all so strange.
At present I can't read anymore of this. I feel like it's meant for a younger audience. For this reason, I give it a 3/5 rating. I don't want to fault the author for having a core audience in mind while writing the book.

I love to read science fiction. I particularly like a good series. I think it gives a person the chance to really understand the characters in depth. When I first started this book, I was very confused. As a matter of fact, I put it down for a few days thinking I was going to pass. I picked it back up on a Saturday morning and gave it another shot. What I found is that I usually read at night when I am tired. I found by reading the beginning of the book with some fresh brain cells was what I needed to get jump started. Once I got through the first hour and figured out what was going on, it didn't matter what time I read. I will say though it is a book in which you need to pay attention. It is not an easy read. This book reminded me a lot of the movie "Inception" with Leonardo Dicaprio but with a few slightly different nuances. I really did enjoy the characters. There were times when I new exactly what was going to happen and times when I was completely shocked. Did it hold my attention? Yes it did. Would I recommend? Yes however to someone a little older. There was a fair bit of violence including some references to sexual violence which I could have done without.

'Mind Dimensions Omnibus,' like some of the other critics here have said, is a rather easy read. Zales doesn't get overzealous with his wordage, the plot is easy to follow and fairly engaging, and despite its length, it's something you'll scoot through at a steady, even fast pace. The tale of Darren and his special place, 'The Quiet,' is fascinating. I haven't been able to complete the books, yet, nor do I want to provide spoilers, but in the first chapters the reader is pulled in nicely by a plot-point immediately revealed a few minutes in: Darren, apparently, isn't the only person who can access 'The Quiet.'
In the early stages of the book, I'm not particularly fond of Darren as a character. He's written like the opposite of a humble-brag. "Everything around me thinks I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread, but really, I just have a superpower" - that's basically the jist of his personality in the early stages of the book. The first-person writing style subjects you to his view of the subject matter, and readers may like or dislike that based on how they feel about Darren's personality. I may update my review as I progress through the volumes, though, because I must state that *I did receive this boo at no price for an honest, unbiased review.* Thus, these opinions are entirely my own.
For its price; it's a read worth picking up. It'll go quicker than you think!

The Mind Dimensions Omnibus is a complete series. There are a total of 5 books. I have not read this author before and was impressed by the author's writing style. the attention to making sure you understand what is going on throughout the story is wonderful. I will definitely be reading more by this author. This set of books is unlike any I have ever read before. I could not put them down and stayed up late at night trying to find out what happened next.
***Spoiler Alert*** The books go into two different types of people with the ability to enter one's mind. These types of people are Readers who have the ability to go into one's mind and see what they are experiencing right now or even what they have experienced in the past; then there are the Pushers who have the ability to put actual thoughts into one's mind to make you do something.
If you love Science Fiction or Fantasy then this is the series for you.
I received this book series for free or at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I was not required to give a five star rating and my opinions are my own.

I'm a notorious book snob. I have high expectations, to be sure. I've recently gotten into sci-fi, fantasy, and adult fairytales, and was excited to check out this series. I think the writing is best geared toward a young adult reader, and older or more matured readers may find the characters lacking - ahem, Darren, who is far too frat-boy to be believable to me, or even likeable. I think this series would pair nicely with teenage angst. I also struggled with his chauvinism. Hard pass on that.
The concept is intriguing, which is why I initially wanted to read the books. Stepping outside of time and being able to navigate through it is so captivating. I love stories that imagine the world in a new way, and superhero stories and movies are wildly appealing to me, but I couldn't get over the poor character development, treatment of women, and sub-par writing. It simply wasn't my style. With more refinement and more solid, adult characters, I think the series could really soar. I would, however, recommend it for the young adult audience, as the series has seen a lot of praise in other reviews and on GoodReads.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very unique, unlike anything I have ever read, and I love sci-fi and mystery novels. The characters were interesting and well developed, with excellent and interesting dialogue. Although the series was long, I never got bored. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering what was going to happen and how everything was going to end. Fast paced and very suspenseful. One really neat thing (that I feel is pretty rare) was that the author clearly did the research into the science aspects of the book. I work with bio/neurofeedback, and the author was completely accurate in the description of the equipment and the terms, which always makes me happy. Although sci-fi, I found the concept believable enough to enjoy and get involved with. Overall, I would highly recommend this series. #MindDimensionsOmnibus I received this product discounted in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Darren has a secret and it seems that secret makes him feel isolated from those around him until he realizes he is not the only one who has these special abilities. He meets Mira and his whole world begins to change and as the story starts to unfold he learns more about his past and the strange way he is able to "step outside his body" so to speak to take in what is going on around him. As he originally liked to refer to this happening as the quiet. He learns it means he is really a reader and that can come with some consequences. Not everyone is fully accepting of this gift he has.
This is the first book I have read by Dima Zales and found him to be quite a good writer. If a book doesn't grab me in the first few sentences usually I tend to put it aside after pushing through a chapter or two to give it a fair chance. However in this series I enjoyed reading it as the words flowed well and the storyline was clearly mapped out. I found the concept quite interesting and I think we may have all at times wondered what others may be thinking or even wished we could stop time. Perhaps with the thought we could change things. It raises questions through out the book that keep you wanting to read more, like what happened to Mira's parents and Darren's parents? How will all this come together to make sense? There is action and intrique on each page to keep you guessing at what is about to unfold. If you like a good fantasy read, this is one to try.
I don't like giving away too much of a story line but I would recommend reading this story for yourself and seeing what you think. I'd be interested in more books by this author. :-) Overall I enjoyed reading them.

I received these books recently, and I'll admit they were not the style I usually seek out. That said, I fell in love pretty quickly.
The protagonist is easy to like, he's confident and open with everything he tells the reader and it comes off very realistic and genuine. I quickly began to root for him, and it pained me when the many twists and turns of the series put him through hell. His abilities are intriguing and I constantly found myself hanging onto explanations of his growing powers. There is some high level science terminology consistently through, but it's presented in a way where I never got too overwhelmed and I never felt bad for not looking up words because the writing was solid enough that even without a degree in physics or physiology I could grasp it enough to understand as much as Darren did.
The fourth book felt like it ended too quickly! That, however, might just be because I was so enthralled with the characters that I wasn't ready for it to end.
If you like action filled paranormal with a strong male lead and more than one storing female characters that take no s***, I recommend this series without hesitation!

I enjoyed this series quite a bit. I downloaded a sample before deciding to read the whole series, and was sucked in right away. I had only two weeks to read it and I was worried, because it was so long. However I ended up reading it in just three days. The book moved very well for being so long. Part of the explanation for how these people work left me a little glazed over but all in all it was a very cool read. See more below if you don't mind a bit of a spoiler. I enjoyed the twist, I felt it was pertinent to how we view things in the world today. There was some sexual content, but it wasn't graphic. Lots of violence and use of the f-word among others.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this series. Some of the writing styles (such as introducing how the main character views himself) struck me as a little jarring, but overall this series was a very enjoyable ride. The twists and turns in the plot kept things moving and the story continuity from one installment to the next was seamless. Some points were rather hilarious, too. I would not say that this is a book that will provide deep understanding of the meaning of life or that will leave you pondering the complexities of the world we live in, but it was a great fantasy. At its conclusion there is ample opportunity for more installments; I look forward to reading more!

I rapidly grew tired of reading this series of books. FIrst, I find the main character's trick of stopping time simply too formulaic and unbelievable. I much prefer to have my science fiction have some foundation in hard science or at least some credibility. (For example, read either Saturn Run or Seveneves for rollicking adventures that are just about technologically feasible.) Second, the plot development is way too predictable. I guess teenagers might like this but, even then, I would prefer to direct them to some vintage Heinlein, Clarke or perhaps Pournelle or Niven. I received the electronic bits that compose this book at a substantial discount (in this case for free - which is about what it is worth) in return for writing a true and honest review.

This is the first book/series I have read by this author. The writing style is fairly simple, which can be good or bad depending on your preference. The storyline is packed with adventure and suspense, and I never lost interest. The series reminds me a bit of The Saga of Darren Shan (matching name is a coincidence), in which a "normal" guy gets wrapped up in some crazy, supernatural plot, and in which the writing style is easy to read but never lacks some sort of twist. In Mind Dimensions I felt the characters were a little flat - there is nothing all that interesting about Darren and the other characters don't have a ton of depth - and the dialogue is a bit cliche, but I did appreciate that he has two moms. Some LGBT representation is great!
Overall it was an easy, fun read, and I look forward to finishing the rest of the series.
Contains some mature content including murder and rape; definitely intended for teenagers and above.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mind Dimensions Omnibus. I spend way to much time reading self help novels and business books, so when this series came across my desk I could not pass it up. It was a really fun read. It was a great blend of sci fi and fantasy. The story line caught me immediately and I was hooked. I started reading in the evening and finished by the next day! The concept was different and intriguing. I loved the main character Darin, he was a great combo of smart and clueless. The story line was easy to follow with some great twists and turns. It was pretty action packed, no boring lulls. Sometimes Darin's questioning of other people was a little unnecessary and dragged on but that is really my only complaint. I would recommend this book....in fact both of my children are reading it now(They are teens....not recommended for young children as there is quite a bit of violence).

This series is written in the first person. The premise of the book is interesting, but the action is predictable and the language used is trite. I had a few eye rolls when the author wrote exactly what I expected to come next. There were a few times, especially in the beginning, when I almost gave up and stopped reading because it was simply not keeping my attention. However, there was just enough action to make me continue reading, hoping for some twist to change my perception. I know the author is capable of better, because there are a few passages that are incredibly vivid and draw you in momentarily, until the writing goes back to its basic humdrum. Fringe science at its best! To describe how good this book actually is, I've finished it in a week (and it's about 1000 pages). I was reading it before getting up in the morning, before falling asleep, whenever I had a couple of minutes...
The basic premise of the story is very interesting and somehow reminded me of Underworld movies - it's a story about two opposing groups that are fighting together for hundreds of years and each group has different abilities. Leachers\Readers are able to read memories, while Pushers\Guides are able to change your mind. And then a child is born that is half-reader and half-guide...
While reading this book, I've constantly kept thinking that this would be an AAA movie material.

I thought these books were great! They were well thought out and the author took the time to have his story plot be through and engaging. The numbering system on 0-4 is a little odd to me, but that didn't stop them from being interesting. The idea that someone can stop time check out the things around them and pop back into their own body is an interesting one. The book starts out with one character but pretty quickly invites a mysterious girl into the picture. Well worth the read. The author doesnt dumb down the way he writes which is always a big thing to me. The books are interesting and have a really good flow.

This series was certainly not something I would normally read, but it was very well written and held my interest through to the end. I am not generally a sci-fi reader so I was skeptical at first. It took a little while, a couple of chapters, for me to really get into this story, but once I did, I was hooked.
The characters are intriguing and the author did a great job in building them throughout the story. There are some you love, some you hate and some that fall somewhere in between, but they are ALL worth following.
I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves to read. it is well written, easy to follow and an entertaining story all in all.

If you like science fiction and appreciate stories that don't include fantasy, you will enjoy this series. I found myself immersed in the story from the very first chapter of the first book. I don't want to give any plot lines away, so it's suffices to say that the story was original (at least to me) and exciting. I didn't stop reading until I was finished all the books lol.
I enjoyed the writer's style, the pace of the story and the overall themes. I hadn't heard of this author before reading this series, but I will definitely be reading his other books.
There is a bit a language here and there in the books, but not so much that it offended or distracted me. If you normally look at those HBO or Showtime original series and not feel offended, you will be able to read these books.
The writer is engaging, imaginative and reflects a good sense of humour in his story. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good story line and non-fantasy sci-fi.

I received this series for free in order to review it, and I'm glad I did because I wouldn't have discovered this series otherwise. It starts off a little bit slow and boring, but the action really sucks you in as you continue reading. The concept of the powers reminds me of a combination of movies that already exist, but they're joined together to create a unique and adventurous series that is worth checking out. I would love for the series to be made into a movie someday, it'd do very well in the box office!
P.S.
If you're into action and sci-fi you'll enjoy this series, it reminds me a bit of the movie Jumper combined with the James Patterson series Maximum Ride.

I always find it hard to review a book because the author has already taken the time to write a preview that they feel gets the point across without giving away the story. To put it simply, you need to read this. No matter what style of book you like I think you'll enjoy this one. And to get all 5 books at once is a bargain. This is the first book I've read by this author, but with any luck it won/t be the last. You can see the other reviews and it seems they all agree. Buy it, read it, enjoy it.

I really wanted to like this series. I loved the premise of being able to stop time. But really, after the first two hundred pages I could never get interested in the story. I think the biggest hurdle was that after over 200 pages, I was not only uninterested in the main character but also grew to dislike him. I read a book or two a week and am always looking for the stories that I just can't put down, but sadly this was one that was difficult to keep picking back up. I love whoever invented the Omnibus. It is a fun word to say. Go on and say it. Omnibus. Omnibus. See how fun it is. I always enjoy getting the most out of my buck so the omnibus is awesome and so is the person who decided it was a good idea to put more than one book together. I was sent this omnibus to read and review.
This is an interesting series about people who have special abilities. They are able to step out of their bodies and watch the world around them. Time stands still while they are in this state so they can find out information about people etc. They can also go further and touch a person to read their mind. This is a power I wouldn't mind having at all but of course with power comes the danger factor.
Darren grows up with two moms who think he's crazy because he told them about what he could do. He meets another person who can do the same thing so he tracks her down and finds out about the world of Readers and Pushers. He gets a huge bombshell about himself and before he knows it he's smack dab in the middle of absolute craziness.
I really enjoyed this series. It is written in such a way that it seems like it could be possible since it seems to be like astral projection with an added boost. I also like Darren who is easy to relate to. I'm sure a lot of us can relate to finding out something that we didn't know about that makes things go all topsy turvy. I look forward to checking out more books by this author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. #MindDimensionsOmnibus really had me excited when I read the description. It seemed like something I might enjoy, along the lines of jumper, The Matrix, or any of a dozen graphic novels. I was really excited to get going.
Unfortunately it just didn’t deliver. The dialogue was entirely flat. It’s nearly impossible to tell which character is speaking, because they all use the same tones, colloquialisms, and speech patterns. The author uses very few descriptions in the book, so getting a clear picture of the characters in my head was very difficult. The book constantly switches between first person past and first person present tense, which is very hard to follow.
The basic premise of the book is very interesting! The concept of clairvoyance (my word, not his) and it’s uses is very interesting. The author goes into great details about how he suspects the characters’ abilities work, which does get a little dull at points. The main character is difficult to believe, as he’s coasted through his entire life caring about nothing but shortcuts using his abilities. He’s rich, good looking, powerful, and the only one who can work through the problems that arise in the book. If this were fan fiction, he would be a “Gary Stu” type character.
I have high hopes for the author as the book was built on fantastic foundations and in a world I found very interesting, but the lack of technical development and story editing left a bad taste.

I had a difficult time really getting into the Mind Dimensions Omnibus Series.
It may be that the genre is not my favorite, but I also found the series to be very slow in some parts and lack the oomph the story needed to get my engaged, immersed, and excited about what would halogen next.
The books are well written grammatically, which is always a nice surprise, but the content for me was lackluster at best.

It may be that the genre is not my favorite, but I also found the series to be very slow in some parts and lack the oomph the story needed to get my engaged, immersed, and excited about what would halogen next.

Based on the word "Omnibus" I was expecting a deeper entry into science fiction, along the lines of the Foundation series, but what I found instead was an entertaining, fast-paced thriller, more along the lines of the Divergent series. The story is enjoyable, with the explanation given for the characters powers fitting well into the world as presented. The only knock I have on it is that the characters are not very fully developed (again, similar to the Divergent series), but the fast pace does compensate for this.
Overall, I found this series quite enjoyable, and highly recommend it for someone looking for a lighter sci-fi read, and would personally be happy to read another entry in the series.

When I was offered to read Mind Dimensions in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, I figured I would take a chance on this book. I'm typically into Sci-Fi and suspense novels, so this series is right up my alley. Dima Zales does a great job introducing Darren as a complex and interesting character, and the book has enough to get you interested and hooked right from the start. The book has an overall fast pace, which is great, because you can easily lose track of time and become enveloped in the story. I would definitely recommend picking this book up if you are into suspense novels!

* I received this ebook series in exchange for my honest review from Tomoson.com. All opinions are my own*
I will be honest and say that this was a very decent book. I will stay away from spoilers as I feel that this was a pretty decent series and I would hate to ruin it. The plot was steady and well thought out with just the right amount of twists. I wanted to finish the whole thing before posting my review, but in doing so, I feel I rushed a bit so I will be going back and re-reading because this is a series you can read multiple times. Usually, sci-fi is not my thing, but the characters and their relationships more than make up for it. The idea of freezing time has long been one that has fascinated readers and movie buffs alike and Dima Zales has joined these ranks.I would have liked for him to have done something different with the idea, but for a new author, he did a pretty good job keeping the story fresh. There were a few lulls in the story, but overall, I was quite pleased. One thing I will say is that this series will be a big hit with the young adult crowd. I would say definitely check it out and make up your own mind about the writing of this new author.

These books have an ok storyline.. I think they would be better for younger teenagers. The read was extremely easy, and most of the plot was pretty predictable. I like to be surprised and I just wasn't.

I just finished the first book and the premise is what made me read it. Its a bit of x-men, misfits all mashed together... But whats different here is that more than one person happens to have the same powers. The pace of the book was just right and while not overly simplistic, kept things easy enough to follow along while introducing a fair deal of interesting concepts. Will definitely finish the whole series.

I have been enjoying reading this book series. I haven't finished yet as it's a very busy time of year and unfortunately I don't have as much time to relax as I would like. I recently read the Magician's series and was very excited to try this series out. I'm always on the hunt for new magical/adventure/mystery/YA type fiction, so this is right up my alley. I've enjoyed the plot so far and learning more about the history of the characters. I would encourage anyone who is was a fan of Harry Potter, the Magicians, Narnia, or anything similar to give these books a try!

The book is really intriguing and hooks me right at the beginning. It's an easy read with a complex story and keeps the momentum going throughout the whole series. I recommend this to someone who loves science fiction or likes stories that make you think. The way the author rights it's amazing and I'm looking forward to reading more of their works.

Loved these books! I have always loved reading, especially sci fi. It took me a long time to get used to electronic books but now I love them. They are so much more convenient. I really enjoyed reading these. I was given the opportunity to receive a review copy for free or at a discount in return for my honest and unbiased review. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre of books.
Please RateMind Dimensions Omnibus: Volumes 0-4
The characters are well-developed but seem a bit over the top at times. There are a number of times that the main character does things that seem completely out of character for him, and then seems to have no remorse for it. It doesn't seem plausible that it would play out in that manner. They're not just minor things that he does, but major, life altering decisions and they don't seem to fit his persona up to that point. If he'd felt guilt for it afterwards, it would have made much more sense and I could see it being a realistic decision. As it was, it just felt like he'd gone a bit nuts at times.
The supporting characters seem a bit the same way in that they occasionally do things that also seem out of character, or are too radical for what their characters would have done ordinarily. There's one particular character, the psychiatrist, that never really gelled for me. Even at the end I got the feeling that she wasn't who she portrayed herself to be. Things she did never seemed to be consistent and believable. She felt deceiving to me and I never trusted her. I don't know if that was the intent, or if there wasn't enough time put into her to make us feel as if she was a real person, but she didn't sit well with me. I had an especially hard time with her for whatever reason.
The ending with the moms also felt a bit forced and unrealistic. There was too much guiding, and in that case I would really call it pushing. It felt like they were doing too much guiding and not enough letting the real emotions exist. I didn't like that and was upset by it. I think it could have been handled much better. It seemed too rushed.
Overall the books were enjoyable and interesting, but there were definitely places I wasn't happy with the way things were handled. There were other places as well, but I don't want to give too much away. Conflict is good in a book, that's what makes the plot interesting, but the resolutions and the reasons for the conflict just didn't seem quite right.
I didn't find many editing mistakes, which was nice. There was a lot of bad language in this book, the f-bomb was very frequent and not really necessary. I'm not sure that I'd read anything else from this author, but I'd consider it.
was able to purchase this item at a discount in exchange for my honest review. Please note I have no relationship with this seller, I’m not compensated in any way, and I have no obligation to give any product a favorable (or negative) review. I put a lot of research, time and effort into my reviews, and I sincerely do my best to write reviews that are unbiased and that represent my honest opinion. I give products the rating I feel they deserve based on my experience with the product and compared to other similar products. I do almost all of my shopping online and always read reviews of a product before I purchase, even products I review I purchase because I, or members of my family, have a want or need for and the products will be used. I rely on the reviews of others just as much as you do! I review a lot of products that I don’t receive any discounts on and don’t show any favoritism when reviewing simply because I paid less than the current price for an item. I wouldn’t want to be misled and I certainly would never treat anyone that way, either. Thanks for reading my fine print, and I hope my review has helped you in some way. :)
