Breaking the Silance by Diane Chamberlain was a most riveting novel. I read Ms. Chamberlain's Witness series and fell in love with her writing style. I gave a five star rating to Breaking the Silence. It was a story that held my attention to the very end. The characters became very real to me and I couldn't wait to learn more about them.; they became my friends, people whom I felt that I always knew. Until the finale of the novel you were not sure of character connections.

Once again impressed with Diane Chamberlain. I really liked the way the past was woven into the present story, and how it is all tied together in the end. I actually read this one twice because I was so intrigued with Sarah's insight into the world of psychiatric hospitals.

Diane Chamberlain never fails to write a page turner. Ever since I read Secret of the Lighthouse Keeper, I have been hooked. And Summer's CHild is another one that is also set in my favorite place, the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Diane Chamberlain is the best.
Suffer in Silence: A Novel of Navy SEAL Training :: The Slow Burn of Silence (A Snowy Creek Novel) :: Dead Silence (The Stillwater Trilogy) :: Pray for Silence: A Kate Burkholder Novel :: Priestdaddy: A Memoir

After reading this book and her new book Silent Sister, Diane Chamberlain has become one of my favorite authors! And the best part is she has written so many books! They just keep getting better and better.

I have just started reading books in this genre and have found that I either love one or can't even finish one. This was a winner with great characters, interesting plot and a surprise ending that I NEVER would have guessed. Highly recommend.

I loved this story! Sometimes I wondered how everything could possibly fit together and it kept me guessing. But the author did an excellent job of keeping you in suspense and wondering, and then tied it all together beautifully. Nothing predictable about this story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story!

I love fiction that is well researched. I can enjoy the story while learning at the same time. Good story surrounding the experiments on psychiatric patients we did during the cold war based on an unrealized fear.

This was the first Diane Chamberlain book I've read, and it won't be the last. Highly entertaining, though far-fetched and most unlikely (after all, it is a novel), it is a great read with some twists I never saw coming. It's not often I have the time to sit and read for hours at a time, but this was the perfect book to while away time in the mountains, sitting by the fire. Every time I finished a chapter and set it aside to go do something else, I stopped in my tracks and picked it back up to read just a little more. My biggest problem now is deciding which Diane Chamberlain book, to download next!
