House of Shadows (Volume 1)

I loved this book. It's equal parts horror, gothic and mystery. If you close your eyes, you can picture the house and characters. It's hard for an author to paint a picture so vivid that your imagination can see it. Ms. Coates has become one of my favorite writers and I will be anxiously awaiting more of her work. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

Although the romance aspect was sorely lacking - talk about insta-love!- I really enjoyed this book. It was creepy and atmospheric, everything I would expect of a gothic novel. Very entertaining and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

As always, Darcy Coates has written yet another captivating book. I could not put the book down. If you are looking for a story that will draw you into it, create “relationships” with the characters and take you away ... read any of her books but this one was my favorite thus far.

I couldn't put it down until I was finished. The characters were so well described I could almost picture them in my head. Such an interesting plot. Can't wait to read more by this author.

Exhilarating! Read this book in one day! It had all the necessary components of a thrilling book!! Danger, love, and supernatural are just a few! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a thriller supernatural live story!

Loved this book. Like others that read this book , I couldn't put it down. It is so easy to believe you are there watching the story unfold before you, and cheering on the characters. I'm ready for the next book now.

I was given an advance copy for an honest review, and here it is! This was the first gothic novel I have read by this author, her others I have read have been more horror. All good! This book kept me guessing from beginning to end, not a single one of my guesses were correct! Surprises galore - I love Darcie Coates and always look forward to her next story.

I really enjoyed this book. I was intrigued from the beginning but also felt the story continued to build nicely right up until the conclusion. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Having said that, this book is great as a stand alone.

I really liked this book. The story was intriguing, different, and unexpected. Though a bit slow to start, once I past the 6th chapter, I found it hard to put down. The atmosphere is amazing, and the ending was so imaginative!

Wow. This book was actually pretty good. Very exciting. The love story was cute too. I read it post Halloween and was a little afraid to walk home in the dark which had a small forest on the way. I can't wait for the best installment.

I very much enjoyed this book. Only disappointing thing is I read through it so fast! I would recommend this book to anyone I've become quite the fan of Darcy Coates - this is the third book I've read of hers this month so far none have disappointed!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a cross between the Gothic romances I read in high school and the horror stories Darcie does so well. I like that the ending was detailed, and didn't just leave off like most other books. Now I am looking forward to the sequel. Thanks Darcie for letting me read and review this book. Thumbs up.
