Similar to the other 14 books. Not much action but very repetitive sex. The s e started out being fun, sexy, cute and interesting stories but they seem to have devolved in just token plots to support the repetitive sex.

This book was very disappointing. Chapter after chapter had me repeatedly rolling my eyes so much that I sprained them. The interaction between Tragar and Emily was so well, ridiculous, that I just couldn't get into the story. Half of the book could, and should have been left out. Him having to get her "sacred nectar' out of her nipples and ultimately "down there" was way too much. And it took chapters to get through it. Long painful chapters. Well, I think you get the idea. I definitely can't recommend this book.?

I love this series and really enjoyed the book. The characters are likable and they develop well through the book. The best part was all the hot action in the book. Yowzers!
I had two small problems with the book. The first is that all the physical changes that Emily goes through. I can understand that they are crucial to the plot, but there was this sense of absurdity that always lingered in the back of my mind while reading the book.
The other problem was the pacing. For the most part it wasn't too bad, although things dragged a little bit at some points. However, the end of the book was almost rushed. We finally get to the climax (*snicker*) and then it was just over. I felt that the conflicts with the high priestess at the end should have been explored a bit more. The romantic (and sexual) parts of the plot were great, but I would have liked some more focus on everything else.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one.

There are some surprises to this book. I love the approach Evangeline Anderson has taken on this book. This can be read as a standalone.
Emily Brooks is a female that lives on earth. She loves kids and teaches kindergarten. Do to something awful that has happen in her past she is unable to stand the thought of being with a man. So marriage and kids seems out of her future. She has always felt different. It is like she has another being living inside her trying to get out. This is very scary to Emily. She feels one day the one she calls the “other” will take over and she will be no more.
Rivin Tragar is a Beast Kindred that has renounced the Goddess after something awful that happens in his past. He has joined the Verrak and is now a hired assassin. His target is Emily Brooks. He has watched her for days and yet there is something stopping him from taking his target out. He is one that never misses a target. He always kills the one he is sent to kill. Then he smells her and realizes Emily is a Khalla. Beast Kindred are sworn to protect Khalla for they are very rare, precious, and consider a treasure. It is something imbed in their DNA that makes him want to protect her.
Targar and Emily find themselves are a dangerous journey while headed to Rageron. Emily has four stages that she will go thru becoming her Khalla. If these stages or not fulfilled and if Emily is breed to soon she could die. Tragar needs to help her keep from going thru these stages until they reach Rageron. He must due whatever it takes.
Targar is refusing his feelings for Emily because he feels unworthy. Emily is being very stubborn on who she wants as her mate. If she can not have Targar then she does not want anyone. Mother Chundra (FYI hated that woman) is refusing to allow Targar and Emily to mate. Will Emily and Targar ever end up together?
There is so many road block that Targar and Emily face. I must warn you that you might need a box of tissue when reading this book. This is one incredible book about true love, forgiveness and self sacrifice. Book well worth reading.

Love the series, the concept, and the execution in prior books. However, I found this heroine intolerable. Bull-headed for no reason, whiny, and repeatedly too-stupid-to-live. In fact, I was so disgusted with her whiny patheticness and her ridiculous decisions, conclusions, and choices that I was hoping for an assassin to actually kill her. Just kill her. Make room for a more worthy, less 1-dimensional heroine.
I agree with other reviewers. For an author who is exceptional at detailed world-building and relationship-building, how hard would it be to have a heroine who doesn't inspire loathing. I felt sorry for the hero the vast majority of the time because she was such a child-like burden upon him. As a female reader, I want to see more admirable fictional females - not females who only fit in the sassy, stubborn, stupid, self-destructive, and burdensome box. UGH. and I'm only 35% into the story.

***Gifted in exchange for an honest review***
OK I nearly did a DNF review on this book, but when I was without wifi and my reading list became non existent I decided to finish this book
Although I have given this book a 3 star, this is because the authors overall world building kept hooking me back in. THIS IS BOOK 15.
Some things were hard to grasp because of this but I was able to pick up what was going on as the character Tregar has to explain it to Emily as she is completely unaware of what is going on, I have the book which was free - which I will try and if that is better than this one who knows I may give the first few a try but by the sounds of things this series is basically the same trope in each book with different players.
In this book we have meek kindergarten teacher Emily starts who at the beginning of the book starts to have weird episodes, she thinks that shes having a nervous breakdown, and is suffering from PTSD due to her rape in College.
Unknown to her she has a contract on her head and a Verak assassin is tracking her down to kill her.
Rivin Tragar of the Verrak is a Beast/Rager Kindred—originating from Rageron—a jungle planet full of beautiful but deadly flora and fauna. With dark hair, golden eyes, and hot tempers but their most defining characteristic is the mating fist. The mating fist is an area at the base of the Beast Kindred’s shaft which engages fully only during bonding sex with his chosen mate. When engorged it swells to keep the Beast Kindred and his bride locked together until she is completely bonded to him. This ensures sex that is both extremely long lasting and multiorgasmic for both partners.
So with Emily having had a rough time accepting any sexual overtures due to being raped in College. This will prove a problem that will take a sympathetic partner to break down the barriers the attack caused.
In fact the guy reappears and attacks her when the Kindred assassin steps in and rather than killing Emily he saves her from being attacked and instead ensures the creep never can grab hold of a woman again by crushing his hand.
Once he saves Emily he realises that she's not actually human but a 'Khalla' a revered Reincarnation of the Rageron Goddess.
So Tragar ignores his Verrak oath and instead takes Emily onto his ship to take her to Rageron to go through the Terrach change where a bond mate can be found and help her with the change... if they don't get there in time Emily will die.
This was quite a long plot line for me the book seemed to go on forever. as you will see it took me a 11 months to finish it! And although I enjoyed the overall story line the sexual content seemed totally OTT I get that this is a sci-fi erotic series but there were some weird changes happening to Emily in the book and the actions taken to deal with them were a bit too bizarre for me. Emily is changing - morphing into a Khalla - where she will be permanently dripping honey from her gigantic boobs and Vajaj! I mean YUK how gross!
I felt the story could have been much more exciting if there had been less nectar sucking and more action. Afterall they were on the run. Oh and the villain seemed completely OTT and a whacko and of course hes so deep in the background the characters have no idea he is in the picture at all!
The book ends on a hook into book 16... there is a sneak peak to keep you waiting without too much of a book hangover. And for that I am grateful as I hate cliffhanger endings.
I also hate when books have glossaries and you don't find it till the end. ok I guess I could scroll through the contents page and see a glossary then but I tend to just keep turning pages from where the book opens. I wish that Authors put them first at least then new readers will know that its there and can refer to it if they wish to.
I do have the first book in this series... I am going to read it as like I said. I did sort of enjoy the book in that the World it is set in sounds interesting sense. The authors obviously gone to a lot of detail in the world building for the series and that's what's going to make me try read book 1 and maybe even the other 14+ books, who knows time will tell.

Stars: 5+
Overall: Emily is your everyday ordinary kindergarten teacher that has hot flashes, that changes her eye color and hair color. On one peculiar day she is feeling it more so and has no clue what is happening to her. Hoping to take a few days off of work she goes to see the principal and finds out that the new vice principal is the man that raped her in college. All while this is going on Tragar is apart of a assassin's group that takes out anyone for the right price. He is sent to Earth to kill Emily, but there is something about her that makes him pause. He sees her leave the school in a rush and than a male following her and he decides to follow them both. When he gets to her house, he sees that the man that followed her is trying to hurt her and before he can jump in and help Emily takes matters into her own hands and that's when Tragar figures out that Emily is actually a Khalla from his planet. He decides right than and there to take care of her and to get her to his home planet because a Khalla is a woman who is a true daughter of the goddess. After he "kidnaps" her, Emily starts to go into heat and Tragar helps her out the best way he can. After this point they head out into a journey of opening themselves to each other and also trusting each other to always be there. There is a lot of information given about the Beast Kindred and also a new kind of Kindred called the Wulvern. Emily and Tragar both deal with inner battles, but with the help of some new friends and the love they have for each other they are able to overcome anything and bond. This story is definitely one of my favorites from the series and I can't wait to read the next one.
Pros: I really loved everything about Emily's character. It made sense about the way she felt in certain situations and I was able to connect better with her because of it. I also really liked everything about Tragar's character because of the same reasons. There was just something about this story out of all in the series that was the most believable and realistic ( in some ways). I also loved that we as the readers got introduced to a new kind of Kindred and I hope there is a book written about them. I also liked that Ms. Anderson went back to the Beast Kindred and evolved their species and gave us more information about the Kindred. I know at the moment Y is a "bad" character, but I hope that he doesn't stay that way and he is able to find his own romance.
Cons: I personally wish that the head priestess would've gotten a harsher punishment than just having to leave the temple forever. I also didn't care for the very end of the epilogue because it left me with so many questions about the next book. Is it going to be a romance like the others is my main question. Other than that I really enjoyed the story.

Another fabulous instalment featuring the Kindred and it brings the storyline bang up to date. Previously we learned in Enslaved that a young woman would be born who would become the mother of a new type of Kindred. This race part Havoc and part Kindred could lead the Kindred towards much greater things but there is an evil presence who will stop at nothing to prevent this from happening .
Tragar is an assasin working for the Verrak and his latest assignment takes him to the primitive planet Earth where he hunts down Emily. Not one to simply shoot and leave he takes the time to really understand his victim . When he gets close to her however he gets a huge surprise as Emily is the rarest of things , she is a Khalla! A Khalla is special and Tragar has been brought up to revere them and will not complete his hit. No Tragar will take Emily to safety but it's a journey thrawt with danger as Emily is changing and her inner Goddess is trying to claw her way out!
I'd almost forgotten about the vision that showed a rather unique female who was under a death sentence so it was lovely to catch up with Thrace who originally started the hunt to save the mysterious female . I loved that those loose ends were picked up here and expanded upon. What's even better is we meet a couple in this book who are about to star in the next story and boy does that sound like it's going to be a doozy . Sorry I digress but I'm so fired up from reading this book and now I am anxiously waiting to read more. That's what is so fabulous about this authors work, she has the ability to pull the reader into her amazing worlds and it's a joy to just escape there and wallow for awhile.
I am reluctant to say too much about the storyline lest I ruin the fun for other readers but will say that Emily is no little miss to simply give in and let her life changing event take her over. For this reader there was a little too much touching too soon as I prefer a romance to develop but those who enjoy the more erotic type of romances will find numerous hot scenes to tickle their fancy. Also I should point out that there are certain elements here involving spanking that some readers might object to .This couple have to face many challenges and it was simply fabulous to catch up with much loved characters from previous books but the end has left me desperate for more! Ms Anderson you are a truly wicked woman but I forgive you because at least I know there's more delicious Kindred coming my way. Now all I have to do is find one of my own!
Four and a half from me

Trager and Emily are the main characters. She thought she was human but is really a rare Kindred female. He was sent to kill her but decided to save her life by helpi g her through the 4 stages of change. It started good then rapidly became ridiculas. He was "forced" to suck her breasts to "save" her life. Then of course he is forced to suck and kiss her vayay to save her life. A funny little robot called Y has a bad guy called Two who decides to kill her but instead wants Trager to fall in love with her then have her die so it would hurt more. Then when that doesn't work he tries to kill her a other way. Meanwhile she turns into a Kindred and needs more sexual aid while Target is poisioned. She must save him for him to save her by sucking her breasts and having sex with her which took about 10 pages of "can I " and it is " needed" to save you. Please give me a break. I thought I couldn't stop laughing because it was soooo stupid. I really liked the first about 6 books but this one is plain dumb.

Evangeline Anderson's newest kindred bride book "targeted" has got to be one of my favorites this far.
Emily Brooks is a kindergarten teacher that believes that she may just be going crazy. She feels as if there is another person living inside of her and now is trying to get out...Again. After a horrible experience in college when her "other" attempt to take over her body, she is afraid of being with any man, but the man of her nightmare has come back into her life and follows her home one stay after school. She attacks the man after a few bad suggestions from him, and a beast kindred comes to her rescue. She doesn't expect to find out that Tragar, a Verrak assassin, has actually been sent to earth on a contract to kill Her. After watching her for 10 days had realized that she is not someone that he could kill, but actually a rare female from his home planet, Rageron, and he was brought up to treasure these rare females called "Khallas". Unfortunately, when a contract is accepted, it cannot be fulfilled until either the target, or the Verrak, is dead. Tragar vows to get Emily to the holy mountain on Rageron before the final stage of her change so she can have her meet chosen for her by the High Priestess, and then will die himself to save her life. After an adventure that leaves you on the edge of your seat, tears in your eyes, and heart pounding, they finally admit to their feelings for one another only to have more twists and turns before they can get their happily ever after. I cannot wait to see what kind of adventure Evangeline can come up with next, looking forward to Forgotten already.

Targeted is another story added to what I would say is a great paranormal series. I enjoyed Emily and Tragar’s story, even though I wanted to strangle Emily more than once. Her character was so scared of everything and she made some things harder on herself by her actions. Emily’s character had to grow on me, not to say I hated her at first but I enjoyed her more towards the end of the book. However, I enjoyed Tragar’s character a lot; he was strong and seemed stronger after everything he went through even if he went about handling and doing some things in which I felt was the wrong way. If you read this series you know you’re in for an adventure and this book is no different, the only difference is being introduced to a new Kindred species which I enjoyed and I will be reading the next book in this series. I think I will continue to read this series as long as the author continues to write them.

While Brides of the Kindred remains on my Must Buy Now list, this book was not good. I'm still glad I read it, but for the sole reason to follow the overlying plot line of the series.
The writing was good, the plot line was good - it was the two main characters, especially the female lead. It was non-stop whining, simpering and stupidity through most of the book. About 80% of the way thru, the character looked like she was going to turn around...but that was just a tease.
The male character was *almost* as bad, but he did kinda/sorta turn around about three quarters of the way in.
Best part of the book was getting introduced to K and Rone who will be featured in the next installment of the series - they look very interesting, and I look forward to reading it.

ARC for honest review
First of all, I would like to say that not only is Evangeline an amazing author but she is also my number one 1-click author. I never have to read the description of her books because I know that I will love them no matter what! And this book is no exception. Targeted is number 15 in the BOTK and is completely amazing as the first! Her stories never dip or falter and always keep you on the edge of your seat. When I finished reading Enslaved (#14 BOTK), she gave an excerpt of Targeted that left me wanting more. And boy, did she deliever! Emily and Tragar are the main characters for this book and she explores their back stories that leaves you really feeling for these characters. Not only do you fall in love with these people, but you want to fight with them when the fight, love with them when the love, and cry with them when they cry.
Evangeline is an amazing author and this book is another of hers that I would recommend 10 times over. Get it, you won't be disappointed!

Thia book was horrible. There weren't any new ideas. She took parts from other books and made another. Raped sexually repressed heroine check. Unworthy male hero check. Crazy priestess check. Page after page of unfulfilled sex check. These last two books have been a chore to read. I wish they could feel more original instead of predictable used past plots. I really loved this series and I hope the next book is better. Otherwise it will be time to move on. I'd also like for once a strong heroine whos not weak and sexually repressed.

Evangeline Anderson has captured my heart and soul with her Kindred Brides series. Targeted is anothet success. This book continues the adventures of the Kindred race and there chosen mates. Anderson brings to life the characters in all her books. In Targeted Emily is a plain non-discript young woman who teaches kindergarden. She feels like she is so different from her family. Emily has agood reason to feel this way, she is a Kindred female. Emily and her Kindred warrior begin an adventure that takes her millions of miles from her family. If you have been reading the series you are in for several surprises in this book. If you are a new reader starting with book one makes the read more interesting. Targeted can be read as a stand alone book. Either way dear readers this author is not to be missed.

Evangeline Anderson again gives a riveting story filled with heartache, suspense, laughter and spice.
Targeted tells the story of Emily Brooks- a Kindergarten teacher with a painful past and a fatal secret that she is not even aware of. Tragar is a Beast Kindred with an equally painful past that causes him to forsake his Goddess and turn to a life of assassination.
When he takes the contract for her life he finds himself unable to fulfill it and instead takes a new vow-a vow to save her life even at the cost of his own.
This story is almost one of coming of age as Emily finds herself both emotionally and physically throughout this journey. Both of our heroes help heal each other from the pain of the past and work towards a better future.

Targeted is book #15 in Evangeline Anderson's amazing series "Brides of the Kindred". One of my favorite authors and this is definitely one of my top favorite series. When I sit down to start any of the books in this series I'm already thrilled and excited knowing I'm about to be transported into this fantastical world, I am never disappointed. It's time to indulge in another installment of this yummy exciting hot sexy thrilling scify romance series, so happy.
The story starts out with Emily, a kindergarten teacher having a really bad day. She's recently found out she's adopted and is having all kinds of weird physical issues. Strange hot flashes, her eyes seem to be turning colors, there's someone else looking back at her when she looks in the mirror. On top of that she finds out the man who traumatized her years ago is now working at her school. At the beginning of the story Emily is a bit meek, happy with her simple life. By the end of the book she has undergone major changes, she is a force to be reckoned with. I liked Emily more and more as her story developed, she goes thru one heck of a journey, a major metamorphosis, embraces love, and comes out strong.
Trager is a Beast Kindred, the same kind as in the first book Claimed. Having suffered an unimaginable loss, needing to somehow deaden his pain,he joins the Verrak, special assassins with unbreakable oaths to follow thru on their deadly missions.
Not being totally heartless Trager follows his victims before killing them, confirming that they are truly evil. His latest assignment happens to be a blond human woman, Emily. After following her for ten days and seeing she not only a good person caring for young children, her scent reveals she is also a Khalla, one that is said to be part of the Goddess herself. She is precious, sacred, his mission now must be to protect Emily and see her to safety. After explaining to Emily that she is in danger and that she is experiencing so many strange physical symptoms because she is in transition they leave for his planet.
From here the action packed journey takes off. The well developed plot and subplots take hold of your imagination and take you thru deep space along with the characters. The storyline (which was introduced in the last book) is well developed with several layers, a roller coaster ride filled with lots of twists and turns, unexpected journeys and realizations.
Of course there is attraction between Trager and Emily, forbidden exchanges, the characters slowly fall In love and thru that bond find redemption, forgiveness and strength (there are some deeper lessons here). The sex is really hot, this is Evangeline Anderson and no one writes romantic scify erotic romance better and in many cases with quite the imagination. I find these 5 OMG's rated scenes an awesome perk within fabulous books.
The main characters as well as many of the secondary are all well developed, you really get to know them and their backgrounds. I love how many characters from previous books have important roles in this book, and their stories all weave together. We also get to know the main characters for Book 16 very well and are treated to the beginning of Forgotten.
Loved this book and highly recommend going along for the fantastical journey of the Kindred Brides, reading the series in order highly recommended as well. There is so much creative imaginable aspects to this story as well as excitement, adventure, danger and dark forces, hope, love, romance, have ice on hand sex, it is an awesome addition to a phenomenal series.

The Kindred series continues as Targeted follows the twisted adventure of Emily and Tragar. Though I wasn't necessarily in love with these two as a couple, I did like them as separate characters. The plot follows the usual Kindred formula with a few twists that reminded me somewhat of book 5 (Revealed) – simply what Emily is and what she is about to become compared to Rast and what he turned out to be; as well as a bit of book 2 (Hunted) – Sophia and Emily go though similar, personal experiences. I did enjoy the story and how it unfolded but feel that the ending was a bit rushed and could have gone a bit differently. I am however, looking forward to the next installment...the teaser itself at the end of Targeted had me intrigued...

This series was so amazing. I literally read all 17 books over the past two weeks and couldn't do anything else not even watch my favorite shows because I was so sucked into this world of the kindred. Storyline, characters, and chemistry was amazing. I can't wait for more books in this series to come out!

Once again, you have blow me away with your books. Decent storyline, I continue to hate the bad guys with a passion, and as for the Kindred... phew... You just keep making them hotter and hotter. But mostly, that little excerpt at the end is what killed me! I loved Kate from the first time I saw her name, and now I have to wait until I see her again. Ahh, the things you do to my heart. Write on Mrs. Anderson! Write on!

Targeted (Brides of the Kindred Book 15) is an intense and beautiful story about Emily from Earth and Tragar, a Beast Kindred. They both have experienced tragic events in their pasts and have closed off their hearts.
Circumstances keep them close as they start on a journey that is full of danger, discovery and love!
The Kindred world continues to fill me with awe and wonder! This story left me feeling totally satisfied but still craving more!
Tragar, is kind, caring, sexy and very hot as are the love scenes between him and Emily! Love the "verbal" exchanges they share!!
Emily's story is heartbreaking but inspiring due to her beautiful spirit and her journey is full of intrigue and revelations that makes this a must read!

Emily is a kindergarten teacher on Earth. Unbeknownst to her she really isn't human. When an assassin comes to Earth to eliminate her, he realizes she is a very rare female Kindred called a Khalla, and can not complete the assassin. She will soon go through a 4 stage change which can not safely be completed unless she is back on her real home planet. What happens on the way and at their destination is so intense and filled with emotions and sexual content. This author has an imagination that is so unique that she is able to constantly write these books that keeps us readers wanting her to continue the series. Fabulous writing Evangeline Anderson, keep up the great work. Love it!!

I was so excited to see Targeted released! The next in the Kindred Bride series. I have loved this series since Claimed. What I love about this series is that every book has its own storyline, however it is intertwined with the previous books and also gives a glimpse into the future books.
So at the end of Enslaved we meet a little of Tragar which is where Targeted starts. He is a hired assassin who is contracted to kill Emily. He soon finds that unlike many of his other contracts, something is keeping him from killing her. He soon realizes she is not who she is supposed to be. Unbeknownst to Emily herself, she finds her self carried off Earth and on her way to what is apparently her real home world of Rageron.
Through many trials Tragar and Emily work together to save Emily all while becoming who they are truly meant to be. Fighting for each other, they soon learn that they are stronger than they ever thought of themselves.
I highly recommend this book, but I definitely recommend starting at the beginning of the series. You grow to love each person and each book follows their relationships and builds on each character.

Another outstanding story from the Kindred series. This story is well written and the characters are very well developed. The addition of passion, hot sex, and loving romance just adds to the story. It's amazing to me how EA can come up with these wonderful storylines. Can't wait for the next book.

The Kindred's devotion and protective attitude toward their mate is appealing. This story was good. The erotism of a fertile female was a different twist on the story line. I was a little uncomfortable with the constant dripping.
