Loved this heartbreaking story about divorcee Love Aldridge who is finally free to live her life the way she wants to only to have her ex try to set her up. Love's ex had me wanting to toss my Kindle especially when I found out he sent Jude to get Love to marry him so he didn't have to pay her alimony anymore. Jude and Love's relationship didn't start out honestly but their feelings grew and they fell for each other. So, what happens next. You are just going to have to get War and Love to find out. A well written book with believable characters and a story that will break your heart and put it back together again make this a 5 star read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Two people are brought together under unusual circumstances with dubious hopes of a future together. Can they overcome a deceptive ex, a shady bargain, and a relationship that becomes all too real for both of them?

Both Jude and Love have good hearts who've struggled and made mistakes, whether it's suffering through a bad marriage or trying to get somewhere better at someone's else cost. We get to watch them build something real together even if both try to ignore or deny it at times. I rooted for them the whole time and I was so happy with their ending.

Thank you, Ms. Renshaw, for sharing your work.

A Review of War and Love by Winter Renshaw

Jude and Love - 5 Stars

WOW! I absolutely LOVE the cover for this book! Ms. Renshaw has written another book that will knock your socks off with the chemistry between Jude and Love. With twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seats, her characters are well written and developed. This story touches on a lot of issues that we, as a society, need to be more aware of. Ms. Renshaw gives you plenty to think about as well as a story that you can get behind and characters that you can feel good rooting for. Definitely one that you will want to pick up.

Winter Renshaw is one of those authors that I don't even need to read the blurb to know I'm going to get a good story; she just always delivers. Every time. And boy, did she deliver with this one! From start to finish, this was just such a good book with an unusual twist and I devoured it. Jude and Love are just such amazing characters and the way they interact with each other is magic. You can just feel their love story leaping off the pages and you'll be biting your nails, cheering for them to find a way to be together. It is so easy to see, even from the first pages, that they are meant to be together. It is just a sweet, tender, hot love story and I loved every minute of it.

Jude Warner is a recently unemployed plumber/wannabe singer/songwriter trying to care for is single-mother sister. Unknowingly, he makes a deal with the devil, Hunter LeGrand, to seduce and marry his shallow, materialistic ex so he can avoid paying alimony. However, once Jude gets to know Love Aldridge, she's not at all what her ex painted her to be. Feelings become real, and guilt starts to gnaw at Jude. What to do? Can he finish the deal and walk away a rich man, ending the money worries for him and his sister? Or, do his feelings for Love make him give it all away? Nice easy read. Enjoyed the chemistry between Jude and Love, and really liked Love's crazy, pregnant best friend, Tierney.

I voluntarily reviewed the arc of this book. I have read other books by Winter before and i really liked her writing. This book is about a divorcee named Love Aldridge ( formerly LaGrand) and Jude Warner, the guy Love’s ex-husband Hunter LeGrand hired to marry her (for 1 million dollars and a record deal) so that he could stop paying her millions a month in alimony. As time went by, Jude began to have strong feelings for her and decided to tell Hunter that he is no longer interested in his plan. Before Jude could tell Love, Hunter sent him on his way while she was out of town. It has a lot more interesting twists , but without giving too away, it was definitely worth the buy.

This book had me absolutely spellbound from start to finish.

So Winter Renshaw is an absolutely favourite to me anyway and I read anything she puts out but War and Love is so far just my absolute favourite.

I was worried that the story was going to be a bit unbelievable, I mean could I really relate??

Yeah, actually I could. Not because I had gone through anything like this at all, but purely because Winter made me believe.

The characters are totally believable and well thought out, and I was behind them all the way.

Such a great read and as always with Winter, a nice big book so you don't feel shortchanged.

War and Love is another edgy drama by Winter Renshaw. I fall into each story by this author and don't come up for air until the very past word. This story was no different, and I was taken on yet another unforgettable journey.

Love Aldridge is unlucky in love. She has a story to tell, but it is an unusual story, and it affected me differently than most other stories with a similar content. I could not turn away from the unravelling of War and Love and I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions while learning the story of Love.

War and Love was captivating and genius. Riveting and blisteringly emotional. A stunning story that just began to be read. 5 stars.

One thing made me take out one star from this book. By not getting married in the end, so that Love could continue to get alimony was, imho, the same--if not worse--unethical behavior that Love's ex-husband was guilty of.

Such an intense story. Motivated by greed, Love's ex concocts a plan which will cause her great pain. Jude Warner (War) is a great guy, family-oriented, caring, and desperate after losing his job. As the two of them are thrown together under contrived circumstances, they begin to fall in love. But there are so many obstacles in their way. Love (yes, that's her real name) is smart, strong, loving, and resilient; she saves them. They're an amazing couple together, and their journey is complex but so worth the travel. Fantastic, well-written, emotional read.

Love is an independent person I like her attitude towards life. She is strong and her personality is wonderful. She seems easy to get along with. She has a sister and a mom, but their family relationship is not the best. Love meets Jude this beautiful, handsome and easy going guy. He seemed like the perfect gu, but like what they say when something is too good to be true, there must be something. Well love found out the hard way about Jude, but love always wins. The story was great but for me the ending was to abrupt I feel I needed a little more about their life or future together. Thanks again Winter Renshaw!!

You can never go wrong with a Winter Renshaw book. They're always well written and it's easy for fall in love with the characters. This book is no exception. Love and Jude's story, while super predictable, is a sweeping romance that will make you smile. I do wish that Love's character had a few flaws, because honestly she's portrayed as being pretty much perfect. But hey, it's a romance with a HEA, with decent bedroom scenes so there's really not much to complain about. I liked this book a lot and will continue to read Winter's stories.

When Love married her husband Hunter she thought they would always be happy as long as they were together. When he achieved financial success, she couldn’t accept the changes that it made in him and he was no longer the man she loved and married so a divorce was the only answer.

Jude works as a plumber, but his true love is singing. He not only supports his sister and her children, but he lives with them as well. He now finds himself Love's neighbor but will the secrets he holds destroy both of them when all is said and done? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Winter Renshaw does it again!

I am voluntarily reviewing this book after having received a free copy. I already loved Winter Renshaw’s writing style and how she pulls you into her stories but this book...I didn’t want it to end! I wanted to be Love or at least Tierney, so I could be there to watch there love grow! Oh and Jude, as much as he believes he was a jerk...he couldn’t be further from that in the big scheme of things.

Great work! I loved every part of this book! I wish I didn’t have responsibilities so I could have just glued myself and read this all in one sitting!

A diabolical plot hatched by a man bent on defrauding his ex-wife of income she is legally entitled to is at the heart of this story. Through the genius of Ms. Renshaw’s digital pen, this heinous plot is foiled by a man with a conscience whose soul mission is to take care of his family, and a woman who is honest, generous, and true to her core. While their journey is fraught with secrets, these characters—genuine and authentic—are resilient, smart, and in love. And they find their way to justice and happiness.

The story of War and Love was refreshing. Some like reading about billionaires and alpha males that sweep the woman off their feet like a dream come true. However, like Jude says “real life can be ugly and suffocating and uncomfortable sometimes” and Winter shows us that you can still have that feel good romance with none of the frills and all of the feels. I loved the complexity of the characters and their backgrounds. You can’t help but root for Jude and his family trying to look after each other and Love after dealing with her pompous ex-husband. Jude’s sister and Love’s friend Tierney were great “side kicks” and I would love to see his sister get her own story. If you’re a fan of Winter then grab this book and if you’ve never read her yet, read War and Love and add all her books to your TBR list ASAP!

Love Aldridge is trying to start a fresh new life. Recently divorced from her husband Hunter, Love has no intentions on trying to jump into another relationship... but the new guy in the building may have her thinking twice.

Jude isn't the man he seems to portray. Down on his luck, he's been offered a deal he can't refuse. Make a deal with the devil to get his music career started and help with his family in exchange for duping the beauty across the hall and convincing her to marry him. As he gets to know her, he finds the choices he's made a but harder to stomach. Will he follow through and save his family? Or will he save her instead?

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Love (Lo) just ended her marriage with the one person she thought she knew, but when money came into the picture he changed and turned into someone she no longer knew.

Now Hunter has hired someone to take her off his hands for good only it may back fire and cost him more than what he is willing to pay.

Jude never thought he would doing something that would be wrong and out of character. Only thing is he is doing for his family and hopefully to get his career going.

What Jude didn’t expect was for the one person to be the opposite of what he was told and for him to actually fall for her.

Jude and Love have amazing chemistry and are a perfect match for each other.

Love's recent divorce from Hunter has left her with a chance for a new start. She decides to start a foundation to help women. She meets her sexy new neighbor, Jude, and the sparks fly. Little does she know that Jude has been hired by Hunter to seduce and marry her so that he can stop paying alimony and support. As their relationship continues, Jude actually falls in love with her and gives up the big payday he was promised to help his sick niece and his music career. Can Love forgive Jude and trust him again? These wonderfully developed characters with a delightful host of supporting characters make this a wonderful read. I received an advanced readers copy of this book and absolutely recommend it.

When Jude falls for Love, he realizes he is in a no win scenario. Love does fall for Jude, until she finds out that it was too good to be true. Jude disappears from his apartment without explanation. Will Jude and Love ever meet up again? Can Love forgive Jude for his deception? You have to read to find out and will definitely enjoy turning each page.

This is a fascinating romance between musician Jude Warner and divorcee Love Aldridge. Jude and Love are likeable characters and the unconventional plot makes for an intriguing read. There is no mistaking the obvious attraction between them. What started out as pretend on Jude's part became so much more. The build up of the sexual tension between the leads, and the predictable premise to help force them into each other’s orbit is extremely entertaining. Add to that an interesting cast of supporting characters who makes the story more enjoyable. Overall, it has the perfect amount of everything - sex, intrigue, and happy for now ending.

An outstanding story. Life doesnt always turn out as one imagines when their young and in love, life and circumstance can change a person and Love found that to be true with her now ex husband but she is moving forward and upward. Wanting to give to other woman the ability to be strong on their own. But her ex has other ideas. Jude is trying to do what he thinks is right for his family and he can pretend to be someone else for money, until he meets Love and finds out her name describes her whole being. Can what started as a lie be real. Wonderful characters, a storyline that totally sucks you in and an ending that melts your heart. I voluntarily read a copy of this book and really loved it.

“I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.” If you read the blurb you just get a brief glimpse of "Love's" side of this story. Jude's side is so complicated and he is one of those people who gets caught up. You know, "the good people sometimes do bad thing, for very good reasons". It's not an excuse and he faces the ultimate sacrifice but he is in a corner with no way out. I didn't put this book down until I was finished.

I am such a big fan of everything Winter Renshaw. I don't care what the book is about, I just know that I want to read it. And I most definitely know that I am going to love it.
I really would love to spend an hour or so inside Winter's imagination. She has a gift for crating storylines that end up by not being your typical romance story.
This is certainly the case with War and Love. The reason for Jude and Love meeting wasn't something that I had read before. it is this uniqueness that makes me happy reading every story of Winter's that I can lay my hands on.
Looking forward to the next fabulous story.

Love is going through a divorce, and she is receiving alimony. So her **** of a husband, Hunter is setting her up to fail, if she marries within the year, she forfeits her alimony. Love is a giver, lover, sweet and cute. Jude is hired by Hunter to get her to fail on her alimony.

Jude is realizing that she isn't who Hunter says she is. Jude and Love together are pretty sweet. Their banter is fun, sweet and I enjoyed the two of them together. Jude is in a hard place because of the deal and all it offers. I don't want to say too much and spoil it, but I enjoyed it very much. Money can change people and unfortunately it turns people into terrible human beings.

Holy smokes this book was AMAZING!!! I could not put it down and devoured it all in one setting. It has one absolutely amazing newly divorced woman who would give you the shirt off her back, one super hot former military man who is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his family safe and out of poverty even if he knows his actions may very well leave him alone for the rest of his life and one absolute douche of an ex-husband that will do anything to make his ex-wife miserable. Beautifully written story where keep love prevails! Jude and Love meet under false pretenses, even though Love does not know. Jude is mislead by Love’s ex that she is a money hungry, horrible person. And Jude just list his job and his niece has medical problems. But in a short amount of time Jude realizes several things. Love is an amazingly selfless person, she has a heart of gold, could care less about money and material items and that he has fallen in love with her. Question is, how will he unravel this deception that blew up in his face with the one woman he can see a future with. Loved these characters, the story and the HEA!

Talk about DRAMA!!! What a great story! I absolutely adore the main characters name of LOVE! I am a fan of stories that involve new beginnings, and this story really is one. I really enjoyed the premise..the ex husband trying to get out of his alimony payments so he tried to get her remarried! Let’s also talk about Jude...he sounds delicious. Every woman has a soft spot for a sexy struggling musician. I enjoyed the authors take on his “nice guyness”. I think the development of the story went along a great timeline and did not drag at all. I really liked Love’s sisters character because we all have that certain someone in our lives. The ending was picture perfect. Overall great story and easy read that I would recommend.

Winter did a wonderful job with this story. A friend to enemies to lovers to happily ever after kind of story. I know sounds confusing but to be honest it really isn't. I loved it. I liked the War and Love characters. They were easy to relate to in this quick and easy read. This was a very different storyline for a romance. I had a hard time trying to figure out how they were going to get out of their situation.

Wow, what a captivating romance - well written, smart and sexy, with two genuine and fascinating characters who profoundly influence each other. Despite her failed marriage, she's an optimist at heart, while he is a cynic who never expects to fall for the woman he is supposed to ruin. I couldn't put this one down - highly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
