If you like stories about trained dogs, this is one to read. There were a few areas that were far fetched but overall. Not a distraction.. Would have liked to see a lead in to the starting setting, but novel was still interesting to me.

Another great story by Rollins ..... from the first page until the very end. No real surprises in the outcome, but the book was short, and it kept me interested, so finished it in one sitting. Definitely would recommend this one to a friend.

If you are going to read Bloodline, you might want to read this first as it provides a good introduction to the two new characters involved in Bloodline. I hope they become a part of the series. If you have already read Bloodline, read this to see where they came from. Both great books as always.
The Order of the Sanguines Series by James Rollins (2016-01-26) :: The Kanin Chronicles (From the World of the Trylle) :: Hollowland (The Hollows) (Volume 1) :: An Elemental Origins Novel (The Elemental Origins Series Book 3) :: A Sigma Force Short Story (Kindle Single) - Crash and Burn

read THIS before you read "Bloodlines". it will make everything make MUCH more sense. Its a nice little short about a new character to the Sigma world and starts the ball rolling for events in the novel Bloodlines. its a interesting take on one man's honor, and one man's quazi-mental breakdown.

As always, a detailed thriller leaving me hungry for the next book to come out. I love the characters, Tucker and Kane. It's amazing how Mr.Rollins, gets the reader to see through Kane's eyes.
I would recommend this short story to anyone who loves good writing, lots of historical facts, and plenty excitement and adventure.

Great lead-in introduction to another thriller! A recently discharged Afghanistan soldier and his military trained dog have exceptional abilities in search-and-rescue operations. A story that draws your sympathies for man and animal and keeps you attention from start to finish.

Tracker is James Rollins at his best. Short but hard-hitting, it is non-stop action with well-developed characters. Any fan of his novels will enjoy this story. And if are new to Rollins, this is an excellent introduction.

Great Introduction for a new character, a soldier fresh out of the service, and the war dog he worked with. Both fall into a damsel-in-distress situation and author Rollins shows their abilities off to good effect.

I read Bloodline first, then found this book. I fell in love with the characters in Bloodline, and kind of wished I had read Tracker first. But that's okay. the store could have done a better job of promoting the intro before the book. I hope to see (and read) much more of these two.

Loved this new Rollins character. When I finished with this short story, I went on to read Rollins' "Bloodline" which included this character with some of the Sigma regulars. Probably one of my favorite of his books.

James Rollins has done it again! This author never ceases to amaze me. Not only does Tracker give some great back story to Tucker and Kane, but is a compelling page turner in its own right. Tracker is a great story to read before reading, or rereading Bloodline and makes me impatient to read more stories with this dynamic duo.

More like reading two ebooks extended further by some sneak peeks of other books. I certainly enjoyed the stories but somehow I feel slightly cheated. All in all put it towards the further end of your planned books to read.

Clearly labeled as a short story, Tracker is an engrossing tale of Tucker Wayne and his amazing dog Kane. i read this in one sitting and can't wait for the novel, Bloodline!
Fascinating and fast read! Looking to more of Tucker and Kane!

This is quite formulated, but intrigued me enough to buy Devil Colony, which seems better written. Sometimes, in short stories it appears that the author is in a rush to culminate the story. Ray Bradbury was an exception to this perception...

Tracker.... I had already been introduced to this 2 member dog/human team in a previous novel. The short story form didn't allow enough "buy-in" to develop for the realism/non-realism of the plot. Rather unsatisfying vs. Rollin"s novels which I'd rate at 4 or 5 stars.

I look forward to reading more of James Rollins' stories with these characters. I should note that I have already been enjoying his works; so, my enjoyment of this story did not come as a big surprise.

Have only read James Rollins in novel format. This short story was even better, all the elements of a great action story with the twist of a handler and his dog as the protagonists. Nice pacing and the action never let up.

James Rollins has become one of my favorite current day authors. All though this is a short story, it gives some important background for the character in the Sigma Force novels. If you enjoy reading Sigma Force novels you need to add this to your collection.

Tracker, A short story by James Rollins is a nice quick read, but a bit obvious - you tend to know what's going to happen. But I still enjoyed reading it as it does feature a character that I hope will be more developed in future writings.

Great introduction of Rollins' newest characters. Reading from the dog's perspective was a little weird at times, but still cool. I imagine dog-lovers will really enjoy. Great lead-in for Rollin's latest book, too, Blood Line.

Have been waiting for Tucker-Kane, man-dog, novel since their intro in a previous novel. The relationship and different perspectives offered by man and dog working as one is unique and adds greatly to the the story. This short story shows this and now on to Kill Switch. Can't wait.

I loved this story. I think the inclusion of the dog's point of view is a fresh concept and I enjoyed it. I don't normally read short stories, but I wanted to learn about the new characters that would be in Bloodline. These two new characters are great!

I enjoyed seeing the characters accomplish some amazing things in such a short time. The only reason it gets only a four star rating from me is that I so much wanted to see what happened next... and could not!
