My second read in the Origins of Elements series and I was entranced with Georgie story.
The relationship between Georgie and her mother had been mentioned in Born of Water but reading it from the girl point of view gave it a new impact. After that it was nice to meet Faith and I started to wonder how the adopted cousin of Georgie would be like.
I was not anticipating that Jasher had more than one secrets. I liked that the town would turn out to be like a big puzzle where hints would be hidden in the earth, in elder and in plain sight.
I was a bit disappointed by how the final situation started, it sounded a bit cliché (call all known powers and allies and see what happen). And then when everybody is dying Georgie suddenly had an illumination of power at last moment.
But in the end, I was fascinated by the real power of the Earth and the connection Georgie feel toward living things (or not) and the story about lines.
So overall, Born of Earth was a good reading and another part of the fresco of the elements.

So much of fantasy these days are the same tropes (vampires and shape shifters, elves and orcs, etc., et. al.). I love fantasy so that doesn't really upset me too much, but it does make it especially appreciated when a fantasy (especially one set in modern days, i.e. urban fantasy, my "sweet spot") is both well written AND original. AL Knorr's Elemental Origins novels definitely fit into that category, and Born of Earth is an absolutely fantastic take on Earth magic. Add in the fact that the author does a really great job of creating interesting and well developed characters, who are a pleasure to watch grow, and a plot that's just plain fun, and you just know that this book is yet another winner for enjoying.

Born of Earth: An Elemental Origins Novel (The Elemental Origins Series Book 3)
I really enjoyed this Book, BUT I feel that there could have been so much more, this book BORN OF EARTH could have a series on its own following Jasher and Georjie and their adventures.
Awakening (The Watchers Trilogy #1) :: Fate (My Blood Approves) (Volume 2) :: Flutter (My Blood Approves, Book 3) :: Hollowmen (The Hollows Book 2) :: Hollowland (The Hollows) (Volume 1)

This story is so unique and entertaining. I loved everything about this book and I have already gone back to the first book. It is exciting to read one book and know that you can now go back and start with the first and you don't have to wait for the next book to be written. It shows how family is always important no matter the troubles every relationship has. You almost feel like you are in Ireland living the lives of the two main characters. Their relationship develops slowly but just gets better and better.

After reading "Born of Water" I immediately (like, right then lol) began "Born of Fire" followed immediately by "Born of Earth." I did take about 8 hours off to sleep! Now, I await "Born of Aether" and the book of Rebirth the four friends MUST have, eventually.

The stories are entrancing and original. Well written with a few minor editorial mistakes that dont take away from the story, just jump out at an old English teacher like me. Lol

Keep writing, girl... We will keep buying because what you write is SO worth reading!

I really enjoyed first book, Born of Water. I was sceptical about second book as I didn't think the description sounded as good as 1st book had been, I was wrong and that book was very good too. Now the 3rd book might have been the best yet. I loved the elements of this book and the author has left room with unanswered questions for so much more. Bravo!!!

Recommend: Yes

Plot thoughts: Ohhhh. I like faerie stories and it's about The Emerald Isle so of course there must be faeries! I really liked how this story progresses and each little discovery she makes for herself. Georjie really was on a path to discovery, rich and steeped with family history and power beyond belief.

Composition: As like the others, well written and nicely edited.

Additional Thoughts/Comments: Excited and waiting on the next story!

Excellent story, light hearted and fun. I loved the ties book and liked the second book, but this one has been my favorite so far. I really want to read the next one, but I am also dying to read beyond the "origins" stories of the four girls. There's loads of potential here for a great fully fleshed out universe and and a very long series. Well done!

Knorr does it again, in another intriguing tale of one of four friends and the very magical summer each spends before their senior year in high school, scattered across the globe.

A little weak in the copyediting but interesting characters and a knack for storytelling.

Well, setting this story in Ireland was perfect. A teen estranged from her mother, a curse, a secret, a cousin, and fairy magic. What else could you want? I will definitely read the next one in this series.

This is one story that will continue to resonate with me for a long time. It seems more like an undiscovered truth or history than a fictional tale. I loved it and the tales that proceeded it. Please don't stop writing. I am totally hooked!

A L knorr is quickly becoming ones of my favorite authors. While I find a lot of typos and oddly phrased sentences she knows how to tell a story and keep the reader involved and engaged. Her series ties together seemlessly. Cant wait to read more of her work.

This entire series is so captivating thus far. The story has elements to it that have been done over and over again, but the twist that A.L. Knorr adds to them keep everything fresh and exciting. I cannot wait for the next installment!

Love this series! The premise is creative and the characters very relatable. I love the plot twists and turns and how much I care about the characters. There are no sex scenes and that is so refreshing.

Wow. The amazing descriptions in this book paint a magical picture in the mind. It was like watching a REALLY cool movie. I have enjoyed this series from the get go, and this book did not disappoint. I cannot wait to read about the girls' end of summer sleepover.
