I enjoyed Hollowland a lot and was excited for the sequel. After reading Part 2, however, I realized that some things are just better off left to the readers' imagination. Everything about Hollowmen seems to be either a retread of the first story or, worse, does a disservice to the characters from Hollowland. (no, I won't be a total spoiler, but there are a few disappointing developments) The first book was a heroine's noble quest to find her brother. The second book is the quest to...not die. Yeah, that would be enough in a real apocalypse but from fiction that's supposed to be entertaining, the reader needs more. The whole thing falls a little flat. Not every work has to be part of a series and Hollowland would have been better served as a stand-alone novel.

Continuation of The Hollows. I really enjoyed these books. While I haven't found a third book yet this book has a decent ending. You are still wondering "what now" but not a cliffhanger. Very well developed characters and plot. Good climaxes as well. The people who don't make it is felt genuinely and given a good story.

I really loved Hollowland. But this book didn't really carry on the things I loved about it. It kinda veered off onto other things but still kept me into the book. But it just felt like it wasn't going anywhere (which it didn't) but it was still a decent zombie book. I hate how it ended and there's no sign of a third book though.

I really enjoyed Hollowland and have really been looking forward to Hollowmen. I was slighly disappointed. I am a big fan of Amanda Hocking. However, this book just fell short. It felt rushed, and lacked the detail that was present in the first book. I did enjoy it for themost part. I love Remy's character. She is strong, and a fighter. I am hoping that there will be a third so we can find out what happens next...

Apocalyptic genre is new to me as I always believed that I was not a fan. I stumbled across several stories that I have actually enjoyed although I am still not a fan of the walking dead. The Hollows series is a good example of life on the other side. Having teenagers and young adults play the role of main character makes the story line one that as a parent I become more invested in than some survivalist fruit of my own age. Something about the children are the future makes for the reader cling to the characters in hope of a good outcome. The first book had the beginnings of a page turner and as the sequel this book was a disappointment.
The characters that the first book spent so much time and care to put together the rag tag group of people together was blown apart in this book and at times I wondered why an author would change directions for some unknown reason that I saw no need for. It was like the first cast were all fired and all new actors were brought in with no rhyme or reason.

I really loved the first book and was anxiously awaiting this book. I am going to try to not get too spoilery, but I have to say a few things for the review to make sense. So here goes...I really liked the Lazlo/Remy relationship and was very disappointed that he is barely in this book. I was hoping to see their relationship progress, but he was only in the book for a few sentances. Another thing (*spoilery*), a lot of people get killed off in this book. I realize that this is a zombie book and people die, but it made me afraid to try and get to know the characters. Even with these things, it was still a pretty good book and I am really hoping that there are more in the series.

While I do not fall within the targeted audience, I do enjoy supernatural, science fiction, vampires, werewolves, and many fantasy writings. I found this book to lack a story line; it was basically an introduction to a few characters that I expect to see in subsequent series while killing off the rest of the characters. I kept waiting for it to get interesting, but it never did.

I liked the first Hollowland more than this one. Far better than Hocking's Trylle series. I still liked the main character and feel there is a need to continue her story. Please make it a bit more interesting though.

Starting out this book was intense with her experience in the building. I was cringing as I read. I felt connected to Remy through the book. Felt her pain and fury.
And I always have enjoyed Ripley.

I love Dystopian/Post Apocalyptic books, and this was my first stab at a Zombie book (second actually considering it's the sequel). It was really good. I do really enjoy YA fiction as well as the whole "whole world gone to crap" theme, and this book met all my expectations.
It was fun to read, had great characters, sadness, happiness, trials, pain, love, and a great ending.
This is the sequel to Hollowland and I really loved that book as well. Very happy that this story picked up right where it left off. I was very captivated by the story and the outcome of the characters. I read the whole book in one night.
Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the first book, I liked the main character, and the story. The second book is good, it picks up kind of where the first one left off. It doesn't really leave you wondering what happened with her. (Just mostly her friends, don't really know what happened with them, hope to find out though.) This book just seemed to miss something. It was still good, very worth it to read, I was hoping to find out more about the people she ends up staying with in the end. Hopefully we will find out in the next book? BUT in all it is a very interesting series, I love zombie books, and movies, and I would actually love to see this go to theaters. Would be very good to watch.

I think the reviewers are taking this book way too seriously. To me, it's just a "fun" caper about zombies although I was sad to see some of the characters die. All in all for 2.99, it kept me entertained.

I do like the storyline, even though it seems Remy and her group never get a break. Whoever did the proofreading before this was published was awful. The grammar has many errors throughout! This installment ended rather abruptly

Still in need of some editing, but much better than the first in that aspect. The story continues smoothly and I like How Remy transitions. Hopefully Serg will find someone and Riley will be content to stay. It left me wanting more which is the job of a good story. Well done.

Amanda Hocking's second book was amazing. However like most sequels it is slightly less popular, as I found this book to be. This book also proved that I am not allowed to pick favorite characters because they always seem to die. Regardless I found that Remy was knocked off her god like pedestal untill the end of the book, it was near the end were the book came alive and she reverted to her bad ass ways. Please make this into a trilogy.

Ever since watching The Walking Dead and picking up Amanda's first zombie book, Hollowland, I've been very much enjoying the idea of a zombie apocalypse (well, as long as it never actually happens). This book did not disappoint me in the least. Much like the first installment, the action very rarely stops, and there is a diverse cast of characters whom you grow to care about. When they kick the bucket (as they will, a LOT), you'll wince, you'll loudly cry out "no!" while reading by yourself in a restaurant, and you'll genuinely feel a bit of loss. To bring these kinds of emotions out of a reader is an accomplishment, and Amanda Hocking did it well.
So many times when a well-liked character was killed I had to stop myself from becoming annoyed and realize that if there truly were a zombie apocalypse, that is exactly what would happen. With small groups of survivors trekking across the country, you would be losing people left and right. Having everybody survive unscathed would have been the unrealistic way to go, and Amanda chose not to take that route. I read in her Facebook posts that she "took some risks" with this book, and I think that is likely what she was talking about.
Some people have said they were disappointed that Serg turned out to be "nothing." Well, not really. He turned out to be a good guy among plenty of evil guys. We needed that contrast to show that in an apocalyptic world, we never know who we can trust - we never know when letting an outsider into our camp will be a good idea or a bad one, and sometimes we just need to take a chance.
The only reason I give this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because of those darn typos and word omissions. At this point, when someone is selling thousands of books, it is inexcusable to me to publish something with that many errors. They become quite frequent towards the end, making me wonder if anybody proof read this at all - maybe not even Amanda herself.
Still, I loved the book and highly recommend it. Even if you don't think you like zombies, Amanda Hocking may very well change your mind.

I really liked the first book 'Hollowland' so I had to read the sequel. It was pretty much what I expected and Hocking seemed to be getting tired/bored towards the end. Pretty quick reads and a little more interesting than the typical zombie story. A pretty good read all in all :)

I loved the first book. This book was disappointing. *spoiler* I really liked Blue ans Harlow, but the author didn't explanation how they died. I liked Blue and Barlow, they were my fav charactors. And to get rid of them so plain was saddening. I thought the authors made Remy seem like a total bitch from the begging of book 1 and 2. Shes cold, and honestly I find her anoyying. I only readthis cause the lion was in it, thank gosh she didn't get rid of her. I'm only 45% of thewaydone, but it is so disappointing I'm not finishing it. She took out wonderful characters a s replaced them withflatand boring ones. Not worththe $2.99 on mykindle fire. Readsomething else (sorryfor typo errors, using kindle keypad)

I've enjoyed the adventure throughout the first and second book of this series. I can't wait to see where this goes. A lot is predictable; however, with the many characters we are introduced to keeps the story going.
My one issue with this book was how many mistakes I notice. This was from misspelled words to some words missing all together through the entire book.
