I really enjoyed this series. I think this author has a great writting future ahead of her. Typos made me cringe but I'm sure that will get better as gains more success and income (to pay for better editing). The books are priced well so it wasn't a big issue for me and didn't interfere with my understanding of the story.

I absolutely love this series. I've read it probably about three times in the past two years. It's just such a well written series. I would recommend this book to anyone! Thank you for this great experience!

I was pleasantly surprised by this series. I was a bit annoyed with some editing errors in the book, but not enough to keep me from being captivated by the story. New twist on vampires and i throughly enjoyed the series. Great Last Book

Wisdom, the fourth book in The 'My Blood Approves' series disproves the theory 'you get what you pay for'. Many wouldn't expect to get a quality new-release for $2.99. Wisdom is well-written and entertaining thanks to the talented, imaginative Amanda Hocking. If you are into the vampire genre, teen angst, and love... this series is for you. Having downloaded and read this book today, I am already hoping for a fifth book in this series. I also recommend the first book in her Trylle Trilogy, Switched... another captivating story line.

Amanda Hocking's "My Blood Approves" series is the story of Alice Bonham, a 17-year-old girl living in Minnesota who becomes involved with a family of vampires, and embroiled in a romantic triangle with two members of that family. Wisdom is the fourth book in this series. In Wisdom, Alice starts to question the purpose of her eternal existence and whether her love for Jack and Peter are genuine. Other storylines include the resolution of Mae's creation of a child vampire, an exploration of Alice's past, and the hunt for a serial killer loose in the city.
The good: The secondary characters are the high point of the series. Mae in particular is a very interesting character. In Wisdom, her desire for motherhood leads her into a very heartbreaking situation. This is a theme that can be found in other vampire novels (such as Interview with the Vampire or the Twilight series), but as presented here, showcases the anguish of the situation in a very shocking denouement. Kudos are also due for the realistic approach to the resolution of the main romantic storyline. While it may take away from the excitement readers would typically expect from a romantic storyline, the author illustrates that "happily ever after" is not automatic and that relationships require honesty and compromise to be viable, even when one is tempted to take the easy way out.
The bad: As others have said, this author needs an editor. Writing classes or membership in a writing group may also be helpful. This is a self-published book series, but even so, having the books professionally edited would add so much to their flow and appeal. I would like to clarify that I say this in an attempt to be constructive rather than merely critical; the author has promise, and it would be a shame to have that compromised by poorly edited manuscripts. The editing process could really add a layer of sophistication and character authenticity that is much needed. This should involve not just correcting mistakes in grammar and spelling, but also checking for missing words in the text, correcting use of regional slang or ways of speaking that may be confusing to some readers, and correcting or maintaining the consistency and flow of the storylines.

I enjoyed the first three books of the series but this one I wish I hadn't wasted my time with. Like other reviewers, I expected something different from the fourth book of a series, not more of the same. I enjoyed the first third of the book because it finally developed the character of Peter and allowed the reader to know there's more to him than gorgeous good looks. But just as quickly as the friendship/relationship between Peter and Alice grew, the book quickly retreated back to familiar territory done to death in the previous three books. Alice feels guilty, Jack is angry and jealous, and Peter is tormented. Am I the only person sick of this plot angle in the series? As a reader, I have no clue if Alice and Peter would be a better match than Jack and Alice because they never spend more than a few minutes together before being interrupted by someone else. But I do find Alice and Peter's interactions more interesting to read about than Alice and Jack because I don't like the direction Jack's character has gone. What was once a sweet, endearing, playful young man in the first book turns into a jealous, controlling, dislikable character at the mere mention of Peter's name or presence. At least this book tries to improve upon the relationship between Peter and Jack. I did enjoy how Alice began to take charge of her own life and displayed some true independence and how Milo's character has developed as well. I may try to read the fifth book (if there is another one) but if it's going to be more of "Alice loves Jack because it's her choice not fate" than I may pass unless there is some serious character development in store for Jack. As of now, he just comes off as selfish, immature, and controlling. If you are a fan of the Alice/Peter pairing, you will not like this book and should probably save your money. If you love Alice/Jack, then you will probably love it!

When this book begins, Alice, Milo, and Bobby are in Australia visiting Peter, Mae, and Daisy (the child vampire) when Alice receives the news that Jane has been killed. She immediately returns home, where, coincidentally, Ezra has been moping around without Mae.
As Alice seeks answers about Jane's death, she realizes it is the work of a serial killer and decides to track him (or her) down and kill him (or her). This creates a lot of interest and suspense in the book, and is one of the 2 major story lines. Alice is trying to deal with the idea of immortality. If you live forever, what's your purpose? What can you do with all that time to make a difference in the world? Her "hunt" creates a problem with her relationship with Jack, who is afraid she'll get hurt and acts like his typical overprotective self, which causes her to keep secrets from him.
The other main story line is about Daisy. She's unpredictable and out of control, and Mae is in denial about it. However, through her character, we see a different side of Peter. He's so gentle and caring and we just see a much more likable picture of him in Wisdom. When Daisy causes problems in Australia, the 3 return to Ezra's house temporarily until they can find a hideout. Ezra and Mae finally talk and there is peace again. The solution to Daisy's problem offers a satisfying conclusion to her story.
In the end, what made the book so memorable for me was the amount of action and suspense. Alice is becoming stronger and more mature, and she's really a well-developed character at this point. I wish I could say the same for Jack. He's still immature, jealous, and possessive. I do not like Jack and Alice together. She doesn't need him; he's the needy one. Since the beginning, I've wished Alice and Peter were together. I'm holding out for the final book, hoping that Peter will get his happy ending.

After getting my kindle I was so excited to start reading on it that a purchased the first book I saw on the 3.99 or less section
After looking on the price I though for the price it may not be a Avery big know author so I started the book and I most saw I was impress with the book. From time to time you can tell that the book was a little slower on the scene but it was still I pager turner for me. Is not a book that keeps you on your feet and guessing what is going to happen.
The best and the reason the book is as good is because of the love triangle that happen with Alice, Jack and Peter. The first two books for me were the best. I did appreciated that Amanda try to have other things going on the book other then that, but for me it seems that the were there just so the book will be more general and not just a love triangle.
Spoiler alert
So I waited on review the book until I have read all them (4 books) and am split in the middle the first two book I love and even though it has there WHAT moment I enjoyed but after the bond was broken with Peter and Alice I think the book are just a story line with out hope and romance and Alice deciding weather the decision she maid was the right one And on book 4 a think you cans see that.
I understand that the author did not want Alice to end up with Peter because she wanted that Alice and Jack because they fall in loved with out there blood making them bond.
I do think that is she have keep the book the same and maid Peter the main character and Jack the attraction the series would have being a little more care for.
P.s I hate that Peter had to loss twice the love of his life
I think that Amanda is a very talented writer and I look forward to read other books of her

I think that this book, "Wisdom", was my favorite of the series, so far. I really thought that the characters had great development, and it wasn't all what one would expect from them, especially the way that Alice and Jack are unfolding. Mae's actions surprised me but at the same time I felt relieved. Even though I'm on that Peter/Alice ship, because I think they are just much better suited for one another, I did like the arc that was taken with Jack/Alice. I did feel more 'emotion' in this book than the previous three, and look forward to the next one.
The only thing that really bugged me was the typos and errors that made me want to grab a red pen, and there were a few repeated things that weren't necessary. I guess that's just what happens with independent books; a good editor would put the rating over the top for this series.

I chose to read this book after hearing about all the drama regarding this series. I wanted to be able to form an opinion myself and I tried to stay as open minded as possible. I hated to hear that Amanda was getting hate mail because readers wanted her to chose one guy over the other. She's the author, it's her story to tell. Of course, we can give our opinions, but it's exactly that...an opinion. Doesn't make anyone right or wrong. That being said I held off giving mine till I read the 4th book. I can say that never, in reading a series have I been so torn at who I would chose between love interests. I for the most part usually feel one way or the other. Obviously, this book is one with a love triangle for any of those who haven't read it yet. Jack and Peter being the two in question for the love and affection of a Miss Alice Bonham. Unfortunatly, for me, I didn't feel like it was much of a love triangle. In book one, she is constantly in the company of Jack and never does have much to do with Peter, though I was sure that was to come in a later book. I really enjoyed the 1st and 2nd book and couldn't wait to read the 3rd. Seems it went downhill from there only to depress me by the time I got to the end of the 4th. Not a "Pick You Up" book. I enjoy reading something that makes you believe that there is always hope. Not something that is going to make you feel like, sometimes in life there are those that always lose. You'll know what I mean if you've read the book. There is definitly a character that just can't seem to find his/her way, maybe even a few of the characters. But maybe that comes in book 5, which from what I understand the author may not even be doing now, yet forcing another disappointment for me.
Some Spoilers ahead.....I love the fact that Alice became a very strong individual, one of the few things I really enjoyed about this book. I love Ezra, he seemed to be very smart and as far as I could tell, did the best with what he had to offer. I even loved both Jack and Peter for different reasons. I just didn't love them both for Alice. I loved Jack in the beginning and even rooted for him. I wasn't ever given a reason to like Peter at first. The book was supposed to be a love triangle, but I didn't ever see where the triangle ever began. I kept reading, just knowing that Peter would come into the picture in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th book - which never really happened. He was more apparent in the 4th, but only for a few spoken words and was as quickly out of the picture. He was more of a thought than actually being there. Based on this, you've got a series that gives you 4 books on the relationship of Jack and Alice, which has many ups and downs. Alice isn't even sure if she loves Jack. It's like she has to convince herself that she is. I don't know about anyone else, but if you have to convince yourself, then you don't. Many readers liked the idea that she chose Jack, because it was a choice whereas Peter was only a "blood bond". What makes anybody so sure that Jack wasn't also attracted to her blood? Is it not said many times (and proven) that all the vampires were attracted to her because of her blood? I'm not saying I didn't like/dislike Jack or Peter either way, just that for me it was more about who Alice loved. She needed to be the one to prove who she loved. Which I'm still not convinced of her answer even after reading the 4th book. She does claim to love someone in the final pages, but it still felt unsure to me. I didn't like how Peter was so standoffish in the beginning, I felt he should have fought more for her but we do find out why later. I didn't like how Jack was so non-chalant, but also so impulsive. When push came to shove and all he-- breaks loose, Jack wants her to turn. Like it or not, she tells him no and he ignores her. He begs her and even though he knows she's unsure he cuts his wrist and puts it to her mouth anyway knowing she couldn't fight it. It felt so forced to me. I eventually do eventually lean more towards Peter. In the end, if it were me I would have loved the man that proved he could love me the most, which would have been the man that let me go so I could be happy. Not only for that, but Peter loved his brother Jack too. Isn't the saying "If you truely love something, you have to let it go" Where was Jack's loyalty to Peter? Peter proved to be the most loyal, honest, and forgiving and he sacrificed the most for all of them. He gave up his happiness for hers and for everyone else. It only made me sad that book 4 ended this way. Not much was left open to need a 5th installment. I was hoping I would like this author, I had already downloaded the 1st of another series and I was looking at some of the others, but after reading this, can't say I have any interest.

**SPOILERS mentioned**
I've become completely hooked on this series and could not WAIT until Wisdom finally came out! I was very surprised with some of the things discovered and said in this book...it's filled with so many of them! -Alice's past, her admission to Peter, the fate of little Daisy, and just so many other things I can't even begin to mention. Being a Peter fan ;) I had high hopes that we'd finally see some Peter+Alice together, but looks like I'll have to keep hoping and waiting. :) I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of Alice getting "rid" of the diamond-encrusted heart that Peter gave her, almost as a statement to close that Peter part of her love life. I thought it was a bit harsh (seriously, who gets rid of a diamond encrusted heart?! lol). Again, I'm on Team Peter, so I'm biased in that sense. ;) I WAS at least happy that Alice did finally admit to him that she does love him, but just not as much as Jack.
Just MY opinion on the book, not speaking on behalf of anyone else. :)
Overall, another amazing read from Miss Hocking, and she's left me anxious to read the next installment of this series!!

I absolutely LOVE the My Blood Approves series! I have read this series at least a half a dozen times since I bought it in January! I love Jack and Alice together, but also am drawn to Peter. But ultimately I do believe that Jack and Alice are the perfect couple! I am a fan of the Vampire Diaries books and Twilight books and I must say this series blows them out of the water! I cannot say enough about this series! If you haven't read it yet- I highly recommend it!!! I wish I could give it MORE than just 5 stars! The only complaint I have is that the book Wisdom (the 4th series isn't available on Kindle and I had to order it) I really wish Amanda would come out with the final book of the series titled Swear, but from what I hear that may be a long time before it is released, if at all, according to her website. But in the mean time I recommend to anyone who loves a great vampire love story- read all the books in the series My Blood Approves, Fate, Flutter, Wisdom AND Letters to Elise - all those books in this series are great!

Possible Spoilers?
By book 4, we get the gist: Alice is an alluring drug, and worries that is the only reason she is wanted. Jack is a good guy who loves Alice purely. Peter is dangerous but true to Alice. Alice's best friend is a junkie. Jack loves to wear Dickies shorts.
I really hoped by book 4, we would get to see more of why Peter loves Alice. He sees her so little that his earnest love for her (blood aside), makes no sense to me. Additionally, 2 of the "steady" characters from the previous books- Ezra and Mae are a mess in this book, which leaves this disfunctional family without gravity. Who is left to be a steady force in these character's lives?I would like to see more focus on what Alice has to offer, and why we should follow her throughout the series. As stated in previous reviews: editing, editing, editing please.

I liked the book okay......even enough to read the second one in the series. I just found that there wasn't enough character development and too many loose ends constantly. I know it was for some suspense, but too much for me. I want some decent resolution. I don't like having to guess everything. I won't continue this series since I don't care for that type of writing.

even though I havent finished WISDOM, im already guessing Alice will pick Jack over Peter. During the first two books, jack was sweet and pretty cool, but then he started getting annoying with the jealousy and being possesive towards Alice because of the mention of peter. Peter on the other hand has kept growing on me since book one, now I am completely on team peter, and I kinda feel bad for him because Jack stole Alice away from him, and they never got a chance to actually fall in love because of Jack. I rather like Peter and Alice moments then Jack and Alice moments. Im not trying to hate on Jack but I dont like him anymore. And to tell you the truth im sick and tired of the relationship between Alice and Jack. Now the book itself is pretty good so far especially since there is more action and Alice seems to have matured more. All in all, I might just buy the next book to see what happens to peter, Ezra, Mae and Milo.

I absolutely love this series!!! Then again I had started reading this series before they removed this 4th book from being able to read it on the kindle!!! I have books 1-3 from the series but I have been waiting for the 4th Book "Wisdom to become available on the Kindle again & it really upsets me that it is not available as well as it has not been available for quite a long time!!

Great book. Well written. A little overboard with the phrase "go with". Not as good as the first three books, the characters were a little tired and the story line dulled down a bit. Still overall a good read, will be recommending it to my friends just as I did the rest of the series and the Trylle series too.

After reading the Trylle Series, I was worried how the series was going to end. I hated the ending of that series. With this series I feel in love with the Jack character. He started out as a friend and developed from there. I was worried the whole time i was reading the 4th book that she would throw another horrible ending like Trylle Series. If anything Alice drove me crazy with all of her wants and needing to save the day... Cant she make up her mind and just be happy with Jack. Peter needs to move on.

So, my question is what would happen if Jack actually finds his true soul mate? How and Where would this leave Alice? I would really like to see more of an interaction between Peter and Alice. I don't want Jack to die, but I want him to find his person that he is supposed to be with. Sure, he and Alice are having fun together... but they don't belong together. Just like Milo knows that he's just with Bobby for right now. This is just like in Twilight when you know that Jacob is going to eventually imprint with someone that isn't Bella ~~ same thing... Jack should eventually find a person that is his and it isn't going to be Alice....

I've been enjoying the My Blood Approves series over the past few days on my Kindle. I'm not even done with this book and the plot is not what my complaint is about. Who is the editor for this series? The grammar is very, VERY bad. There are several sentences that are missing words or have the word duplicated. I hope this is only an issue with the Kindle version and someone didn't actually print copies like that. You know it's bad when I notice mistakes like that. I would not consider myself an expert in English, and it still seems that every other page contains a mistake. A few I could overlook, but this is nuts.

I am very disappointed that this book is not available for kindle! I don't like to not finish a series of books but I won't buy the actual book when I read everything on my kindle app. I hope one day it's available so I can read it but by that time I might forget about it. I loved the first three books though

i absoutely love this series. but this book sounds really familiar. you can tell she copied some stuff from the vampire academy series like bloodhores and dhampirs really she could have found some other words or at least made something up. but overall this was a really fantastic series.
