I am often disappointed in tattoo books with little story and the same old coverage of the history of tattooing. I've also regretted purchases of books by high-profile folks with something to sell. This is neither of the above. This book is entertaining, visually stimulating, inspiring and packed full. I'm really thrilled with this book. Congrats Kat. It's a winner.

I love the book, especially the dedication by Nikki Sixx, he so-ooo gets Kat! Lots of helpful info for getting a tattoo and taking care of one. Love the old photos and history of Kat's Life. I was already a fan of the show and Kat, this is just a really great addition and I'm getting it for all my friends for Easter!

love the book, the overall look and presentation of the book is very olde world, it looks great.
from the puffy front cover to the old western feel inside the book, i totally love the way kat put this book together.

very interesting to read about her life and see her tattoos. finally we get to see her tattoos on her skin, what they are and what reason she got them.

paid about $19 for this pre ordered and glad i did. a book you want in your collection if you like tattoos and La Ink, and Kat von d.

This book is packed full of interesting facts and pictures. I read it all today; I couldn't put it down. I appreciate the different sections; it is not super long. She has a lot of experiences to share for someone of her young age. I love the show, so I had to pre-order the book. I was not disappointed; every time I pick it up I notice something new.

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of pics of tattoos Kat has done and great details about her personal tats.
I would have liked a little more on Nico Hurato but I don't think he was at High Voltage when she wrote this.

Can't wait for her (maybe) next book on her journal stories (she talked about this in the last episode of LA INK) and the most memorable tattoos she has done.

I absolutley love Kat's autobiography. But its much more, she really gives you insight into her entire life. She listens to rad music. And she really shows that, unlike alot of other tattoo artists, she really does love what she does, and shes incredibly genuine in that. This book is an excellent buy, even if your not that into tattoos.

After reading the other reviews here I was sooo excited to buy this book for my daughter's birthday gift - she LOVES Kat Von D, and we are both tattooed. I ordered and received it at home in Los Angeles, where I was first disappointed by the fact that I had read other reviews that said the book had a puffed/padded cover, which this one did not... it had a regular hard cover with a nice paper jacket, and so I got over that and took it with me to Seattle for the weekend, and not 2 minutes after my daughter happily started looking through the pages, they began to fall out! I am VERY unhappy about that, and had to tell my daughter that I would return the book to the store and see if I could find a copy that this wouldn't happen to. We both loved the content of the book, but I wouldn't let her keep a brand new book that is falling apart...

Kat lacks any ability for narrative storytelling, so she exploits her tattoo clients' real stories, and makes money off of their experiences. She leads us to believe that she was affected by her Tattoo clients' stories. If she was, then she would have given them royalties to their stories, rather than keeping the cash to help subsidize her income, because of her inability to do more than just awesome Portrait tattoos. The pages are covered with scattered senseless artifacts with minimal design. I felt like I was looking at Kats junk drawer in her mind. It belongs on the shelf of a Hot topic in the mall.
