Quick, cute novella but nothing you'd think about reading more than once. Download all samples for the following book before buying. Most center on emotional whiplash. "I love him/her. I have have to be with him/her forever." "I don't do relationships. I'm not worthy..."

I enjoyed the characters and the story. I felt like the dominance thing was pushed to strongly and all of a sudden that is what made or broke the relationship and became the center of the story. It felt like the dominance in bed was all or nothing. I would have liked more romance mixed in, especially for their first time.

Liked this short story. Also noted that there are four more books to follow based at the wedding of Kady and Colt. Too good to pass up. The books to follow are all by different authors. This can be read as a stand alone, but I bet you will want more.

Dare to Resist is the introduction to the multi-author Wedding Dare series and introduces us to Kady and Colton whose wedding will be the setting for the remaining four books. I'm a huge fan of all of the authors involved in this series (Laura Kaye, Diane Alberts, Katee Robert, Samanthe Beck and Tessa Bailey) so I have incredibly high expectations for all of these stories. I'm happy to say that Dare to Resist more than lives up to them and if the remaining books are as good as this one then they're all going to be on my favourites shelf!

Kady has been crushing on her brother's best friend Colton since she was a teenager, they have a lot in common and even work in the same field but apart from one hot night three years ago Colton has only ever seen her as his friend's younger sister. Colton knows Kady was devastated when he walked away, in fact he hurt himself just as much by leaving, but he knows she deserves so much more than he can give her. When they find themselves stuck together on an overnight trip because of a contract they're both bidding for it doesn't take long for their passion to get the better of them. The real question is whether they are both willing to make a go of it.

Considering this is a novella and that the story really only covers a 24 hour period Laura Kaye does a fantastic job of introducing both characters and showing the reader their history. Things develop quickly but never feel rushed or unbelievable because you can see how much Kady and Colton have meant to each other for years. Kady is a fabulous character, she works in a male dominated industry and has had to work long and hard to gain the respect of her peers. She is the kind of woman who fights for what she wants and who isn't afraid to stand up for herself. Colton is just sex on a stick! I'm telling you he is one supremely hot alpha who I am totally adding to my list of book boyfriends. If you love a domineering man, one who likes to take control in the bedroom, then you are going to fall head over heels for Colton.

If you've ever read any of Laura Kaye's books (or any of the Entangled Brazen books for that matter!) then you'll know to expect a scorching hot read in Dare to Resist. The chemistry was off the charts, keep a spare pair of knickers to hand sexy and my only real complaint is that I wanted more. I would have loved to read a full length novel about this couple but that doesn't make this novella any less fabulous and I'd recommend it highly to erotic romance fans. I just can't wait to carry on reading this series!

Talk about a hot book! Colten and Kady (aka Cupcake) burn up the pages in Dare to Resist by Laura Kaye. They have such great banter, playful interactions, and off the charts chemistry.

Colten and Kady grew up together as he is her older brother’s friend. Life happened, they went their own ways, and then find themselves at a business meeting stuck in a hotel together. They both want each other bad physically, but don’t act on it for a number of reasons. When they both figure out they want the same thing, watch out. I blushed a little, got a little fidgety, and ended the book with a big smile.

If you are looking for a quick, hot, sexy read, give Dare to Resist a try!

First of all, I am trying something new and becoming a guest blogger for My Daily Romance. I will still be blogging on here so do not worry followers of the blog! Just thought it would help my name maybe get out there more and also to help a fellow blogger out once in a while. So Dare to Resist by Laura Kaye was the first book that I signed up to read for My Daily Romance, first because I had a little extra time to read it because it's not due until the end of the week and secondly it sounded like a great book. I have been really torn about how to rate it though but I decided I am going to rate it 3.5 stars. It was a good read but there were a lot of things that I just had a hard time not thinking about while reading it.

Well, lets do the good news first. I really enjoyed that Kady Dresco was a smart, career driven woman that did not take any crap from anyone. Colton was a great character also, being an ex military man he was buff and he was educated. He always seemed to treat Kady well throughout the story even though he had a dark side. Their chemistry together was amazing and the dialogue between them flowed very well.

Now for the bad news. The reasons why I could not make this a 4 star even though I wanted to. I know that novella's are shorter and the author has to get their point across in a shorter amount of time I get it however there was a lot of repetitive things in the story that I couldn't gone without. The first was that that Colton was 6 years older than Kady and that would be one reason why Colton could never be with her. As a wife of a man that is 10 years older than me and a daughter of a father who was 6 years older than my mother this did not click to me as something that would stop a relationship from happening. Unless Kady was still in high school age should not matter and I don't think it really matters that much in a story. Another repetitive thing was that Colton was Tyler, Kady's older brother's best friend, and that was a deal breaker. I completely understand this reasoning but it seemed like every time the story was in Colton's point of view they had to mention that. After a while I just gfelt like skipping that part. Lastly, and the most annoying part of the whole story was Kady and her issue with orgasms. I swear every 3 or 4 pages through out the book Kady thinks about how Colton was the only made she's ever had that could give her an orgasm. I can believe that...been there done that....but does she have to keep saying or thinking that? Why is her orgasms or lack there of being drilled into the readers brain? I understand mentioning it a couple times but every few pages is bit of an over kill.

If you are looking for a cute, short romance book in between your longer reads I would say go ahead and check it out. But at 3.5 stars its not one that I would say hey hurry out and go buy this. It is however 99 cents on the store right now and I will have the link below if you are interested in purchasing it.

With Dare To Resist, Laura Kaye proves once again why she is one of my favorite go to authors writing today. Her characters are phenomenal and her storylines are supremely executed and exceptionally well written. I fall absolutely head-over-heels in love with every one of her books, and Dare To Resist is no exception!

Kady Dresco has been in love with Colton, her brother’s best friend, for as long as she can remember. Frustrated with being viewed as nothing more than his best friend’s little sister, Kady resigns herself to never getting more from him, especially after the night they shared three years ago. There is only one problem...she can’t stop thinking about it, and it becomes harder and harder to let go of her feelings.

Colton has always known the way that Kady feels about him, and until three years ago, he never thought they could have more. Then one night changed everything, and he began to see her as more. He gave in to the temptation to have her, but was immediately overcome with guilt. He pushed her away because he felt that he wasn’t good enough. He doubted that he would be able to give her what he thought she wanted - a relationship and a family. However, after a business trip unexpectedly throws them together, it becomes harder and harder to deny his feelings for her.

Kady and Colton just exploded off of the page in this sexy, hot as hell novella! Their chemistry together was off the charts and I devoured every single word of their awesomeness. Colton is a delectable, uber hot alpha male that exudes charm and dominance. Kady is an extremely intelligent woman with a spit-fire personality full of wit and humor. She knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. The dynamic and tension between these two propelled me through their story and when they finally get together, it was just….WOW!! I LOVED, Loved, loved these characters and sincerely hope that we get quite a few glimpses of them in the other books of the series.

Dare To Resist is the perfect start to the new Wedding Dare series. Even though I haven’t met the other characters, I find myself wanting, and needing, the next books in the series as soon as possible! If you are a fan of Laura Kaye, of the Contemporary Romance or Erotic Romance genre, or series reads - then you won’t be able to resist, Dare To Resist!

Now everyone who knows me, knows that when it comes to anything Laura Kaye I go all fangirl. From not knowing what to say (I was totally author struck when meeting her in London last year), stalking her on twitter and facebook, to being first in the queue for any future releases of her sexy, hot books!!
So the greedy girl I am snatches this one from my blogging partner Andrea to review but she has learnt when it comes to certain authors I go all Crazy Author Fangirl and when it comes to Laura Kaye I just cannot compromise!! But Andrea understands as she has her C.A.F moments as well!!

Laura Kaye really has set up this new series with this prequel novella involving lead characters Kady and Colton. For such a short book there is definitely quality over quantity, it really is that saying...its not how big it is, it's how you use it!! The story is taken over 24hrs but within this Laura has managed to set up Kady and Colton's background story, so you really get to know them and how they feel about each other. I must admit I'm a sucker for stories that has sister falling for brother's bad-ass hot friend and this was the case and so much more.

Colton......oh my Colton! Laura really know how I like my alpha males. Colton was moody, sexy-hot, with a hell lot of kinky thrown in but also had a softer and gentler side which made me want to lick and sink my teeth into his behind, and so much more!!

Kady's characters was strong, sassy and loved that she worked in a male dominated work force and held her own. She wasn't afraid to say what she wanted to get across but when it came to Colton that was a different story! I loved the way they both thought they were not right for each other and wanted and needed different things to fulfill their lives and passions.

She couldn’t actually think of a time when Colton Brooks hadn’t owned a little piece of her heart.

The sex is, well, duh......It's Laura Kaye!! Queen of sexy panties, melting hot scenes I can never get enough and that's why I will forever stalk Laura Kaye and her books, which should come with a warning label (over-heating will occur).

This is one of those books I will put on my afternoon delight book case and will be well used and abused, along side my Hearts In Darkness (signed of course). I recommend this to anyone who wants to add a bit of hot, sexy spice to their afternoon with a chilled glass of wine to cool you down. This prequel novella that Laura has given us, introducing Kady and Colton to set us up nicely for the forthcoming series, is first class. Now, after having read Dare To Resist, I cannot wait to read the rest in the series...these books cannot come fast enough for me!

This book should only come with one warning: don't read this amazing novella in public, it might be way too hot and sexy for the public eye.

Who hasn't had a crush on her older brother's best friend? Who happens to taunt you and annoy you and only sees you as his best friend little sister? If not a brother, the brother of a friend. So this is pretty much what happens with Kady. Until one hot night that Colton almost surrenders to her. Almost.
Now, both of them are bidding on the same military security services contract. And just like fate, they find themselves stranded in a motel for one single night. A night it would be hard to forget.

Laura Kaye had my attention with Dare to Resist from the very first page. I couldn't stop smiling, at first, knowing how the story would end, like it was some big secret only I knew. As the story progresses it goes from hot to hotter. Although I knew that no woman can resist Colton and it was pretty obvious how this sexual attraction might end I found myself surprised to learn some things that I didn't expect at all.

I can pretty much assure you that I devoured this novel and couldn't stop reading until I knew how Kady and Colton's relationship was going to end. I love happy endings, but if they come with sexy and hot scenes in the middle, perfectly written and with such chemistry as this couple... Well, I definitely found my book.

I highly recommend this novella to all those sexy romance addicts like me seeking for a sexy read . It's short and it definitely rises the temperature *wink*. I'll definitely keep an eye on the following Wedding Dare books. Looking forward to read them!

I'm reading the paperback version of book 2 the Hard Ink series, Hard As You Can, anticipating the release of the next book in November… (Have to get caught up!) And I read the Kindle version of this novella, Dare to Resist, which is the beginning of the Wedding Dare series.

This series was described by Ms. Kaye as a "wonderfully fun continuity project" between Tessa Bailey, Diane Alberts, Katee Robert and Samanthe Beck. I'm looking forward to reading more of the series and discovering some new-to-me authors. I hope they can deliver the humor, sweetness, passion and heat that Laura was able to deliver in Dare to Resist!

Colton's intensity and Kady's business acumen and yet personal vulnerability were a smoking HOT combo!! Love when characters have a shared history to build a future relationship on! And as I reread my highlighted 'naughty' parts to write this review - I must say that Laura Kaye and her writing is something that I will go back to time and time again! I don't often read books more than once but for LK I will definitely make an exception.

Dare to Resist kicks off the Wedding Dare Series written by some of my favorite authors and with Laura being one of them, I was so excited for this book and let me say….what an amazing series kick off this was. Holy hotness!
Computer guru Kady Dresco has got some stiff competition when it comes to bidding on one of the biggest contracts of her career. Colton Brooks. She’s known him almost her entire life and has never been able to shake the attraction she’s had for him, which of course isn’t making this whole bidding for the same contract thing any easier. And now, after a huge storm cancels all travel plans to get home, they are stuck together in the last motel room in the area. She’s used to keeping her feelings for him under wraps for years so one night in a motel room should be fine…right? Easier said than done….especially when she starts to think her one sided attraction may not be one sided any more.
Colton Brooks can’t believe his luck. It’s bad enough he’s up against Kady for the contract he’d love to get for his company, but now Mother Nature has them stuck together for the night. There was always something about Kady that drew him in, but she’s his best friend’s little sister and was off limits. Sure, she isn’t little any more, but it still didn’t mean he could entertain the idea of being with someone like Kady. She’d surely run for the hills if she knew what turned him on and that made staying away from her a little easier. But when he finds out she may actually be willing to try things his way, his hopes are raised. Could he possibly have a chance with the girl he’s been drawn to for too many years to count?
Despite knowing each other for years, and having a shared secret mutual attraction, there was never a good time for Colton and Kady to get together until the fates intervene. Things are bound to heat up between this two when they both face what they’ve been hiding for each other for far too long.
Oh. My. Yum. This book was absofreakingloutely amazing. The heat factor was off the charts and with two amazing characters, Dare to Resist may be one of my favorite Laura Kaye works. Colton is a bit of a damaged hero and is wrapped in one handsome, kind, charming package. Kady is strong and honest with a dash of spitfire attitude that makes her a great character to read. The two of them together make one hell of a great match. I think one of the things I liked best about them is that having known one another for so long, we got to skip all of the early parts of relationship building and get right to the hot stuff….and oh my was it HOT! I mean really, really, hot. There’s also a lot of honesty between Kady and Colton, which made for a great pace of the story. There wasn’t a whole lot of game playing between them and being able to cut to the chase was pretty amazing.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the rest of the series! Thank you, Laura, for another amazing read!

Dare to Resist, by Laura Kaye, was an excellent novella, and the perfect beginning to the Wedding Dare Series. This novella flew by, and I completely devoured it! It was sexy, sweet, and romantic. The story visited one of my favorite tropes in romance, second chance at love.

Kady Dresco has had a crush on her brother Tyler's best friend, Colton Brooks, since she was a teenager. Unfortunately, whenever he looked at her, all he saw was Tyler's little sister. A six year age difference has always felt significant to Colton. Once Kady was in high school, Colton noticed her growing up. However, in his mind, she was always off limits. Then, one night things got pretty hot and heavy between the two of them when Kady was in college, but Colton put a stop to it.

Now three years later, when Kady and Colton are competing for the same business contract, due to horrible weather conditions, they end up sharing a hotel room. With temptation right in front of Colton, it is hard to resist Kady when she is everything that he ever wanted in a woman. She is low maintenance, has a great sense of humor, similar interests, and is beautiful. However, Colton has certain sexual interests, and he thinks that his preferences are not for Kady.

Dare to Resist was such a sexy read. I loved how the strong foundation of friendship had already been established between Kady and Colton for many years. They had history, similar passions, and couldn't be more perfect for one another. Kady was a bold and strong woman, yet when she was in the bedroom, she preferred a submissive role. Colton was dominant through and through, and when these two got together they mentally, emotionally, and sexually complimented one another.

My Rating:

I give, Dare to Resist, by Laura Kaye, 4.5 Irresistible, Alluring, Passionate, Sexually Adventurous, Second Chance at Love Filled Stars! This is an excellent novella! You will fall in love with Kady and Colton! This story is a great introduction to the rest of the Wedding Dare Series, and once you read it, you will want to know what happens to Kady and Colton's good friends.

Dare to Resist is the prequel to the Wedding Dare series, and Laura Kaye did an amazing job on starting off the series with how the Bride and Groom end up together…finally. Yup…I said finally because these two were stubborn at first. One more than the other.

Dare to Resist is a short novella that can be read in one day or even less, depending if you have free time to read it. I had to keep stopping due to other obligations, but once I was done Laura Kaye left me wanting the next book from the next author.

Kady Dresco and Colton Brooks have known each other FOREVER, due to Colton being best friends with Kady’s brother. Kady has had a crush on him for a long time, but Colton is torn between hooking up with Kady or strangling her due to her personality (she is his best friend’s little sister). He doesn’t want to ever hurt Kady and he feels she could do better. Colton has no clue what the real Kady is like though, even when he’s known her forever. When they are forced to stay in the same room together at a motel during a monsoon…he will definitely find out more about Kady he had no idea about.

I could go on and on telling you the story, but not going to happen. =) No spoilers here.

Laura does an amazing job on having me adore both characters in Dare to Resist. Kady is one female who has her head on her shoulders and for someone working in the field she does, she knows how to handle working in a male-dominant field. The opening scene in the book had me rooting for her.

Colton is one sexy dominant male who knows what he likes in the bedroom. Can I also say…I fell for even harder when he was described wearing his glasses after taking his contacts out. Girls…geeks/nerds are where it is. Colton is your intelligent, sexy alpha guy who will definitely fall for in Dare to Resist. His reaction of what he found out about Kady though had me a little upset. Don’t get upset, mister…and don’t get Kady upset. But…I can see why he reacted the way he did. He wasn’t expecting it. Never underestimate the sweet girl….ever. =)

The minute that Kady and Colton stop all the sexual tension between them…let’s just say prepare for a cold shower after wards. These two have pent up sexual tension from years ago. What happens after all those years of tension? Yup…you can guess it. =) Their scenes together are going to be HOT!

I loved being introduced to the couple that plays a part in the Wedding Dare series…how the bridesmaids of the couple’s wedding party is going to have their own books. I look forward to reading the rest of the series from each of the other authors. Although, you don’t get introduced to the couple’s friends/family in this book…it only makes it more exciting to find out what the other authors are going to do in their books.

I give this book 4 full moons and highly recommend it to Contemporary romance readers out there.

Oh and let me say….I adore Kady and Colton’s jobs. Yes…another book that has computer jobs involved. I’m a computer geek, so when characters work in the IT field…I’m in HEAVEN! =)

Audrey had always had a crush on her brother’s friend, Colton. Being the younger sister, Colton had never given her the time or day until one day when she finally grew up and caught his attention. Except that day, didn’t really go that far. Now that they are grown up and working in the same field, Colton will finally see her as an equal; not only as a professional but romantically and sexually. Colton and Audrey will get their second chance.

Goodness to hotness, Dare to Resist is seriously a great read. I could not put this book down. Kaye kept me engaged page after page. Audrey was a pretty impressive woman with a very challenging career. I was impressed with how she stood up for what she wanted career wise and did not dwell on the rejections. The best part is without trying, she ends up with the man she wanted by playing the role of an equal. She is pretty ruthless when it comes to competition. Oh, and I can’t forget how steamy this couple was. Though the steamy scene didn’t come until after fifty percent, it wasn’t a dragging wait.

My only grumble is Colton’s realization of his love for Audrey. It just came too quickly for my liking and what made it worse is that they had made permanent and abrupt decisions that again, was too fast for my liking.

Overall, Dare to Resist was good hot read. Ms. Kaye had set a high standard for the rest of the authors in this multi-author series. I’ve never read the other authors, but I’m hoping they are up to par with Ms. Kaye. She did such a great job with this prequel that I’m dying to learn more of how the characters seal the deal.

If you don’t already know, this book is a five book series by five different authors. The other four books will be about characters closely related to Colton and Audrey and the books will be taking place during Colton and Audrey’s wedding.

Brazen books are almost always a safe bet for me. Now, folks that follow my reviews know I’m not crazy about novellas (even though I seem to be reviewing a fair amount of them these days), but when Brazen announced a new four book series featuring some of my favorite authors (ahem, Tessa Bailey), I jumped on the chance to review. Laura Kaye kicks off the Wedding Dare series with this prequel novella.

Kady Dresco knows she is on her game and securing this military contract would most likely get her a promotion and some much needed respect at work. The only possible hitch in her plans is the sexy man that has been a thorn in her side since she was young.

Colton Brooks has been annoying Kady Dresco for all these years in order to keep himself from breaking a promise to his best friend, Tyler, not to go there with his sister. It wasn’t hard in high school as Colton was 6 years older than Kady, but after coming back to a grown woman after some years in the military, Colton nearly breaks his vow.

Kady has had a crush on Colton for practically her whole life. After practically throwing herself at him at his coming home party three years ago and getting rebuffed, Kady backs off figuring that Colt will never be able to see her as anything other than a little girl in pigtails. Kady and Colton prefer to trash talk each other instead of giving in to simmering tension between them.

Weather forces them into a rural motel, where Kady and Colton are forced to bunk together. Anyone can guess what happens next. Let’s just say that the payoff for the tension was really good. The author mentions, several times, Colton’s “darker” desires, but I really didn’t think they were all that edgy. I liked how he discovered that Kady wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows – amusingly dirty.

The story was quickly resolved as the couple readily decided that they were done dancing around each other. It felt really short and I wished I had the next book to jump right into but it does the job for setting up the wedding that the next books in the series will be based at. From here, the remaining books will feature a bridesmaid finding her love at Kady and Colton’s wedding. I’m super excited for the next book which is due to drop in June. Stay tuned because I’ll be reviewing all of them.

As the opener for the Wedding Dare series of novels from some of Brazen's biggest names this is one you do not want to miss. Brother's best friend. Check. Stranded in a run-down motel thanks to monsoon season. Check. An unfinished steamy encounter that's left three years of barely contained sexual tension as she competes with him for a business contract. Double check. Holy [insert expletive here]! I love Kaye's books but I didn't really think the novella length was going to allow for much scorching build-up. I love being wrong.

The stranded-and-forced-into-sharing-quarters trope is one that can get stale faster than a motel vending machine's snacks. But Kaye manages to take it to a new level. Colton and Kady both have a secret and in one of my favorite meta ways his stumbling on the book in her bag as the key to opening them up to one another's shared interest just plain rocks. They are both intelligent, professional people and their chemistry is palpable as it is but bringing in a kink manages to heighten it intensely.

For me as a reader there are erotic things that I'd never go for outside of a book that still manage to make for great reading and this is a flawless example of that. I loved that there was communication between Colton and Kady that made their love scenes feel genuine and safe and ultimately part of a HEA. There's nothing vicarious about their intimacy and that makes it a steamy story that can stand for plenty of rereading. Even at novella length I felt well invested in the outcome of Kady and Colton's motel encounter and was left eager to read the Wedding Dare novels that follow.

Totally a must-read if you like any of Kaye's work and if you plan on ready any of the Wedding Dare novels.

Sometimes it's a love/hate relationship between novellas. Sometimes they are just perfect the way they are and other times you wish they were a little longer. Truthfully, I wish this was a little longer, but I could live with the length Dare to Resist. I do believe it's a nice start to a series. However, I would have liked a little more Kady and Colton's relationship after they leave each other. That would probably be my one gripe. Other than that, I did enjoyed the story. Yes I do enjoy Brazen books, but glad story didn't have Kady and Colton jumping into bed right after they got to the hotel. Most of the time Brazen stories have the couple jumping into bed by chapter 2, and normally works. Yet, with Dare to Resist it would have been a little awkward with their past history. Kade was hurt by Colton's I guess to pursue the relationship 3 years ago. Honestly, I could understand, after all it's his best friend's little sister. Most guys have that code you don't go after siblings or other family members. I'm just glad Colton came to his sense.

Overall, I enjoyed Dare to Resist. Yes, I wish it was a little longer, but that usually happens with novellas. However, I'm excited that is the launch to a new series. So, if you are looking for a launch to a new series and like brother's best friend going after younger sister, you might like Dare to Resist.

Dare to Resist is a frenemies to lovers story that's a hot read, setting up a continuity series which I'm sure will just get hotter.

Kady Dresco and Colton Brooks have known each other for years. In fact, Colton is Kady's older brother Tyler's best friend. For years, Colton has looked at Kady as the little sister. Things changed three years ago and got hot and heavy between these two. Unfortunately, Colton pulled back to only make Kady dislike him more. I love that Kady is smart, strong, and determined. She gives as good as she gets when it comes to her professional rivalry with Colton, and I love that she doesn’t back down. Colton is a great male lead. A little bit alpha, a touch of tough guy, with brains to boot, but you know he’s got a bit of a squishy center, too!

I always like a friends-to-lovers storyline, and Laura Kaye does not disappoint with this one. Dare to Resist may be a short book, but it is FULL of snark, steam, and even a little sweetness.

When I mention steam, I mean my Kindle fogged up, man! It may have taken these two some time to finally get together, but when they do, LOOK OUT. You’ll want a cool drink with you while you read this one!

Laura just never ceases to surprise me, and this novella certainly does when she introduces kink into a relationship. The characters have known each other a long time and are friendly so the short format doesn't compromise the believability.

Besides the perfect build-up to an amazing encounter and epiphany, the story itself about two computer geniuses feels authentic She also includes the kind of obnoxious nerdy character, only with a criminal past that makes him somehow more annoying.

Laura’s phrasing always feels genuine, whether it’s a character’s internal monologue, a formal presentation, or banter. There’s the added fun of a book excerpt within the novella that feels unique. And the characters are surprisingly well-developed for such a short format.

There's a lot of kink here but if you like to read it, and you are looking for romantic, hot, short and spicy this is a great choice.

Kady and Colton were old-time rivals competing for a contract. Kady was very good at her job; even better than Colton, in fact. However, being a woman put Kady at a disadvantage, not to mention Colton was a former military giving him an edge.

Despite their constant banter, they both had a secret yearning for each other, which made the tension quite intense. Poor Kady thought for a long time that Colton only saw her as his best friend's younger sister.

When the steamy encounter finally started, I was in heaven. I just love the way they embodied "rough". To me, it really wasn't that rough. Not exactly BDSM material, but nonetheless, I enjoyed reading about their time together.

I also appreciated when they had the "talk" before they went any further. Colton was such a gentleman to make sure that Kady knew what she was getting into.

I would love to see where their relationship goes after that ending. I'm not sure this series will really highlight that, but I'm happy for them both :)

I recently swore of novella’s but I requested this one because it is the prequel for the Wedding Dare series, which has books by four authors I adore. And since I plan to read those four novels I figured this would be a good place to start and boy did it not disappoint. Authors this is how you do novellas.

I loved the back and forth snark between Kady and Colton. They have known each other all of their lives so nothing felt rushed or too fast for them and I’m a sucker for ‘guy falling for his best friend’s sister’ tropes. They have good banter, hot sex, and good chemistry. I felt towards the end that some of the dialogue got weird but overall this was a really good novella and I enjoyed reading it. I would have liked it to be a little longer, I just did not want this story to end.

My Thoughts:

This was an excellent start to the Wedding Dare series. It was my first taste of Laura Kaye and I've gotta tell you, totally worth it.

Colton and Kady have been good friends...but there's something lurking beneath the surface that both of them are curious about. They can deny it all they want, but it's there, staring them in the face. Colton discovers a book that Kady's been reading and realizes there's a chance for something more. A chance they're both willing to take to see what could happen next.

Dare to Resist is impossible to keep away from. Colton and Kady together was absolutely hot. It gave us a glimpse into this series and definitely got me interested in more. Not just more of this series, but also more of Laura Kaye. I can't wait to check out more books by her.

Colton, Colton, Colton... what am I going to do with you. I want to slap you and kiss you senseless at the same time.

What a ride, this short novel got me on the edge the whole time. Laura Kaye writes in a way you just have to keep on reading till the very end.

I loved Kady's character, she is a strong determined woman who just loves computers. Now get into the picture a former military Colton Brooks, who is now the CEO of his own security systems company, and also Kady's brother best friend, get them together in one motel room for a night and what you get is just sparks, sexual tension building until it explodes.

So yes, if you are looking into a short steamy novel, just go click on buy it now and start reading.

I loved their banter and the give and take of learning to just BE with each other, as adults. There were some laugh-out-loud moments, too. When he accidentally finds a book she was reading, you know, a steamy book, sure wish I could have seen his face! When it fell open to a page that was filled with O.O moments...well, it nearly knocked him off his feet. Then he had to read more of it. That was fun.

Such a great set up for the WEDDING DARE series. I'm looking forward to seeing how all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen for their wedding come to their own HEAs. I need them all NOW!

Laura Kaye delivers a steamy, engaging story in this friends to lovers tale. Kady and Colton have known each other for many years and one night of fooling around 3 years before has left them both with regrets - mostly that things ended so abruptly. Faced with the chance to try again. Colton and Kady are ready to up the ante and see where their mutual attraction will take them. I really enjoyed the mix of the smart, strong willed heroine paired with an alpha male. The story was fast paced, sexy and well written. A prequel novella with an HEA, fans of the entangled brazen line will be well pleased with this story. Highly recommended!

Entangled has brought several of my favorite authors together to create a single series, Wedding Dare. Laura Kaye kick started the series with Dare to Resist featuring security experts Kady Dresco and Colton Brooks. The chemistry between these characters share compounded by Colton’s sexy dirty talk make this novella irresistible.

The coupling in this contemporary romance is phenomenal - a slightly geeky heroine with a crush on her older brothers best friend + a former military Alpha male with excellent manners. I would not have believed that so many of my favorite troupes could have be contained within a novella.

I loved this short story of Kady and Colton. They've known each other since childhood and have always and a thing for one another. During a trip to interview for the same lucrative contract they are stuck together. They banter, as per their usual, and things get scorching hot. This was a page turning, sexy quickie. I enjoyed Kaye's writing style and look forward to reading more from her. Thanks to this novella I'm interested in reading the others in this series by Brazen.

Katy and Colton... the bride and groom of the Wedding Dare Series. These two had me so twisted, laughing at the off handed antics and what the two of them did early in their relationship. I still laugh about it. Laura did this book justice and was a great read. Read the whole Wedding Dare Series.

I really like Kady & Coltin. Two people who have more in common than they ever realized. I just love how protective Coltin is of Kady no matter what. Things get steamy, so if that's not your thing this might not be the book for you. They do have their sweet & playful moments & I really loved that. And another thing I really loved is that Kady is a really smart lady(Totally didn't mean for that to rhyme lol).

Dare to Resist shows us how the couple came to be in the Wedding Dare series, & I can't wait to read the rest of the books. All the stories are written by different authors, so it should be interesting to read. =)

I really enjoyed this story though truth be told, I wanted more. It seemed that by the time things were really starting to get juicy, it was over. Though that being said, I still really enjoyed this. I loved the chemistry between the characters and thought that they were so hot together. I was quickly turning the pages for more.

Dare to Resist, while part of a multi-author line up, is easily read on it's own. I loved the characters and the storyline, and I was aware that it was a novella before I started it. To me, this was one of those cases where the length just made it feel incomplete. I started out okay, but toward the end it started to feel rushed and hurried. I just wanted more from the story.

Kady and Colton have known each other for years. They are both in computer security programming. They are both competing for the same contract. But when they're stranded over night, in the same hotel room, they both learn each others secret.
Plenty of sexual tension, a little rough play, and some rocking hot sex.

Another slam-dunk for Laura Kaye. I know everyone talks about her HARD INK series, but I think her Brazen titles are her best.

This WEDDING DARE series is super cool because there's a different author for each book. The other authors are Diane Alberts, Katee Robert, Tessa Bailey, and Samanthe Beck. Ironically, these are all my favorite authors from the Brazen line. I can't tell you how excited I am about this new series.

Regardless, read Laura's first. It's a cute little novella with lots of yum in every page. Highly recommend for all fans of sexy contemporary romance!!!

I really loved this short story! The chemistry between Kady and Colton was intense!! Colton was such a good guy, but it took him a little bit to figure his feelings out. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series!
