Third Edition, College Algebra

The textbook convey's the lessons well and has very good examples but sometime I get slightly lost when i see the order of the lessons. However that is because people learn at diffrent rate for some concept. This book is still very good for the individual who study's alone.

I wanted to review the College Alegra I had forgotten. So I didn't need the latest and greatest book to teach me something centuries old. The book was in good condition only slightly worn, but for the price it was in mint condition if you ask me.

Package arrived with minor damage to cover, otherwise, book was in very good condition. This book steps a person through the mathematics very well. Gives great examples and explanations. Over all, very good; I like it.

The book arrived on time. The material is the same as a hardcover book. The difference in the spiral bound and the hardcover book is that in the spiral bound book the Section Reviews are missing. My professor assigned homework from each section that we covered and I could not do it. I had to purchase the hardcover book anyway to complete the homework assignments. I spent money for two books for one class. Had I know there was a difference, I would not have bothered to purchase the spiral bound book.

The book provides an overview of algebraic functions. It does not include any trig sections. I used this book in a college algebra class. The professor sometimes dismissed the authors insistence on remembering certain rules, opting for more practical approaches.

As interesting and engaging as one might expect from an algebra text with a chili pepper on the cover.

Very good purchase. I required this edition for my college algebra course. Was able to sell after using it, but not to the bookstore. I sold to someone on campus via craigslist.

Covers college algebra in a manner that is easy to understand. Overall, a helpful book!

Blitzer has done a great job breaking down the concepts of College Algebra. The examples are detailed and students are able to get immediate feedback on their understanding after each topic with what he calls "check points". I like the real-world applications for each lesson and the chapter test solutions on CD. I am a teacher using this book in a high school classroom.

If you have to have complicated jargon coming from an author who affirms himself or herself by torturing you, this book is not for you. If, however, you want to learn Algebra, this is your book--Robert Blitzer is your teacher.
