Absolutely fantastic. Took me two days to read it. I hate how fast I read these books or the fact that the next one isn't out yet. Her work as always is amazing and you get drawn into the story with the first chapter. Can't wait for book 3 to come out.

Another excellent read from Shannon Mayer! I love Lark! She's wonderfully flawed, but always manages to claw her way back out of whatever she's gotten herself into. :-) I can't wait to see what happens to her next! Bring on the next book!!!
Raising Innocence (A Rylee Adamson Novel, Book 3) :: Pamela (The Rylee Adamson Epilogues) (Volume 3) :: Windburn (The Elemental Series Book 4) :: Blind Salvage (A Rylee Adamson Novel, Book 5) :: Elementally Priceless (A Rylee Adamson Novel)

Book 2 in Shannon Mayer's Elemental Series continues the story from the first book. It's just as good, if not better! The characters continue to grow and evolve. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to get my hands on Book 3!

So full of surprises, twists and turns, adventures and action galore. Love the budding relationships which Lark is forming and while her strength and fortitude grows so does her allies. A fantastic read!

I freaking loved this book. I want the third book, like yesterday. Adventure and excitement from start to finish. Dare I say I may like this series the best. The world she's created is just a feast for my mind.

Folks from the Pit—Fire Elementals—are demanding that Larkspur and Ash be handed over to them for a trial, and their death, for killing their Enders in the last book. In the meantime the king sends his daughter Belladonna as an ambassador to the Deep where the Undines rule, when they haven’t heard from the old ambassador in awhile, to find out what’s going on. Lark is assigned to go with her as her protection and neither one is thrilled with being with the other.

I do believe I enjoyed this story better than the first one, partly because Lark is now a trained Ender and the storyline seems more focused with much of the overall world building having already taken place in the last book. I also think I have a better appreciation for Larkspur as a character based on the various challenges faced, decisions made and her feelings for others.

There is some movement in the back story, but the majority of the book deals with what’s taking place in the Deep where we learn about the water elementals and familiars. Plenty of action, but what I really liked is the growth, both with Lark’s abilities and to not take the easy way out, as well as Belladonna’s attitude toward her sister.

Don’t begin with this story. You’d be missing out on too much. Recurve is the place to begin.

I am truly enjoying reading about this world and the characters as the plot thickens. Great writing, world building and character building. I love a strong, smart female lead that can give and take in a fight!

Shannon's books always delight me. She creates her characters fully and with complexities that keep the reader on his/her toes. I enjoy her books immensely and I anxiously await the next book in the series.

Shannon Mayer is an awesome author! The best thing about her books is they are always fast paced with lots of action and not filled with fluff to make the books longer. I absolutely love her books Rylee and Lark's adventures are so much fun. I would totally recommend these books to any avid reader.

Characters are very interesting and there is not a lot of "filler" material to stagnate the action. I like the overall plot and the books keep my interest. I have pre-ordered the next one so that really is the bottom line. If I like it, I keep reading.

This is the second book in the Elemental Series by Shannon Mayer. Lark must serve as the escort to her older sister, Belladonna. They travel to the Deep to discover what happen to the ambassador. From their homeland. During the search, Lark must deal with learning who she can trust and who wishes her dead.
