The author tells a good story but struggles to tie numerous events together. Really misses on making you care what happens to main characters and how this supernatural chaos coexist in the human world.

Dark Isle is an intriguing and interesting novel.
The author did a great job creating multi-layered characters and strong relationships that come to life as you are reading. Dark Isle has plenty twists and turns that readers don't expect from Quinn's world and picks up where Dark Waters left off.
Quinn is the one person who can see the danger that looms. Can she save her loved ones or will chaos prevail? It wouldn't be fair for me to tell - you will have to read this novel to find out.
For sure: Dark Isle is great reading entertainment -"Release your power now, Quinn."

The type of books I enjoy are generally romance (historical, paranormal, contemporary; in that order). I like strong character relationships which this book has in truck loads. Quinn and Ashling share an amazing family bond, sister who have stuck together while growing up and continue to into adulthood. Quinn feels so much responsibility to take care of her little sister. Quinn and Cora, Quinn and Luke are also relationships I enjoyed. At the end of book 1(Dark Waters)I was firmly on Bres's side as far as being the best for "man" for Quinn but since then I've crossed the line to Luke's side.Although I had a moment of feeling sorry for and liking Bres at the end. I got a feel for who Luke is during this book and really like him.
Ms. Mayer has a way of dragging you into her plots. This plot seems much more complex then her Zombie Apocalypse series and I can't wait to see how it ends.
My biggest complaint is that this book is called Celtic Waters Book 2 when in actuality it is more part 2. It is a continuation of a story not a plot on its own. I would like to see Ms. Mayer's books in a single paperback/kindle book. Though for the price I don't mind buying a book in 3 parts.

A fabulous continuation from "Dark Waters". I was once again drawn into the story. I thought I might have to re-read the first book, given it's been a while since I read it. But Ms. Mayer re-introduced the story so well, I didn't have to.

The story picks up right where the first one ended, continuing on the journey of Quinn and her sister Ashling. I was not disappointed! The character of Quinn is so real, flawed, that I can't help but relate to her. She has to make some hard choices in the book - and some of them are wrong - but that's what makes her so great.

I liked the added mystery that was thrown into the story but I think the action/tension was the best part. We are introduced to some new character who are more than what they seem - and Quinn has to pay the consequences of her decisions! Amazing work.

Like with the first book, I was a little disappointed with the ending - as it didn't "end", it just stopped. I look forward to reading the third book and finally finding out what happens to Quinn and her sister! Onward!

I've been eagerly waiting for this sequel to this series for quiet some time now, itching to find out what would happen next. The author did NOT disappoint! I devoured this entire book in one day. I couldn't put it down; in fact, I was reading it while making myself meals and throughout daily tasks - yes, it's THAT GOOD! Excellent, just amazing!

The characters from the first book return to continue a very creative and unique story. There are some great twists in this book that I definitely wasn't expecting. The author does such a great job and is one of my favorite story tellers - she truly knows how to evoke emotion from her readers. Although this book has a lot of action, I still had the sense of the love triangle from the first book. I must say, that although this book shows a lot more of Luke, I still find myself cheering for team Bres. Everything I want in a good book. Even now, I'm still lost in the world of Quinn, wondering what will happen next.

Speaking of what will happen next, I'm now eargly waiting for book number #3 to come out so that I can find out what happens next. This is a MUST read! Highly recommended!

This book was a great sequel to Dark Waters. There were a few surprises in this continuing story of Quinn, but I won't spoil them for you. The story flowed nicely with no boring or clunky parts. I read the book quickly and enjoyed every page. Shannon Mayer is an author that I found by accident (don't remember where), and I've read everything I could get my hands on by her. Ms. Mayer's writing is solid and always interesting. Now I'm ready to read another one!

Excellent follow up. Talk about self fulfilling prophecies. A great roller coaster of twists and turns, while pushing you up and dropping you down. I honestly can't wait for the next one. Poor Quinn and Ashling.
