Another wonderful book!! This is going on my " must read again...several times" list! I admit I can't wait to see how it all ends up, but more so....I will be devastated when it does. You are a wonderful storyteller.

I really enjoyed this book for many reasons, first being the tie in with Heather's others books. What a delightful surprise that was! Also what made this book stand out for me was we got to touch base with some of the other kings and queens and get a feel for where they were at regarding life and the mysterious traitor!!!! Heather managed to do this without taking away from the main characters storyline, very clever and smart because now not only do I want to reread my other books in this series but I can hardly wait for the next book. Also I love how she lead us to believe we had it figured out who the traitor was then she hit us with a twist and yet here we are again wondering who the heck is it!!!!!
One of my favorite passages was the very beginning in chapter one, " Time had a funny way. A lot could be said about it, most of that conjecture: Time was fleeting , time was cruel, time flew when you were having fun, time healed all wounds. Time apparently was bipolar ." I knew this was going to be a good book when the I was chuckling to myself within the first few minutes of reading it.
If you have not read the King series you are missing out big time! Great job Heather I can't wait to see what wonderful journey you take us on with your next book.

I started reading the kings collection because the first was offered for free, great marketing by the way.in each book you are drawn into the lives of at least a dozen people and within each book their story unfolds. The Demon King is the 9th in the kings series, as with all the others, the stories unfold in rich detail. You can close your eyes and feel the damp Washington state air on your skin, see snowflakes as the fall on your palm.picture every character in your mind with exact detail. My only complaint, the stories draw you in so deeply you feel a sense of loss it's not real.
Fake Fiancé Next Door: A Small Town Romance :: Illusion: A Novel :: A Novel (Reprint) (2012-11-07) [Paperback] - By Frank Peretti :: A Spiritual Warfare Thriller Novel (The Fire Series Book 1) :: The Blasted Lands: Seven Forges, Book II

This might be my favorite Kings' book yet. Dahlia, and Lazarus (the Demon King), have such chemistry and their story is fresh and exciting. They hit it off fairly quickly, but their relationship gets more complicated as they learn secrets about each other and struggle with the forces of good and evil. This book left me contemplating the dark and light of civilization and wondering if there might not be a demon or two among us at times.

Bottom line... when any book is BOOK #9 -- you know that the author is simply milking something that should have been a good trilogy into an endless sales device. I liked these books and the writing is just fine, but I'm a sucker for buying anything beyond a #3. That's just lazy greedy writing. Remember the idea of a "beginning - middle -- and end?" Let's get back to that and let's stop buying books the move beyond a #3... So it is my disappointment and my fault for being a sucker. I hope this writer has the bravery to start something fresh and new. Fingers crossed.

Heather did it again! Once I started reading the book I could not put it down. This supernatural series is the best I have ever read. Her writing captivates you right away and you don't want the story to end. That is the only down fall, I WANT MORE!
