Different from other Holocaust books I have read, all written by males. This one, is created by a female writer. A young girl survived from catastrophies, from the evil hand of nazi germany. She almost single handed saved her mother (changed her opinions toward her from then on), and reunited with her brother right before the liberation. Thought provoking stories with vivid details and shocking truth. Beautiful book.

I always get goosebumps reading this account. I am sure the author realises someone was watching over her.I loved it, I cried, I threw the book at the wall in frustration that no-one helped. This book has always made me wonder What I would have done as a non-jew. I truly hope more than others

No words can discribe this book other then VERY MOVING!! Impossible to not think about the story even after you've finished the book. Certainly eye opening!! I don't tend to read these kinds of books for some odd reason, but this one sure caught my eye and just had to read it. I had just bought my Kindle Fire HD from the store and wanted to see how buying a book from the store.com for my Kindle would work and can't believe how fast it appeared on my Kindle after I clicked Buy Book...

This book is the fabulous story of Elli Friedman. A Jew during the holocaust. In the book you follow her story as she goes through many many hardships and the occasional triumph. The wording in the book can be repetitive at times but overall it was a wonderful novel. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy books based on interesting historical events.

Very well written. A quick read. The author did a great job describing her experiences. I bought this for my son, for his summer reading. He is a big history buff. This is not fiction, so it is difficult to say it was enjoyable. It was actually quite a sad story of real life events. It was a story of a young lady with incredible strength.

This story is beautifully written. The author's words stimulate both tremendous heartbreak and deep admiration. The personal stories and individual episodes that she shares from her life are unforgettable. This book left me with a deep appreciation for love and dignity.

A story of courage from a young girl who endured horrific and brutal treatment from the ss animals and some of her fellow prisoners, I have given this book a 5 star rating, a book to remind as of what must never happen again.

Finished the book in two days. Great but sad story to know after you survive that going back to your hometown will not be the same since very few people made it out alive and you have to start all over.

A lesson that must be taught to future generations. Hopefully it will spur students to examine other examples of genocide, such as Stalin's starving of the Ukrainians as well as Mao 's destruction of his own.

This book will leave you speechless. Just when you think humanity can
go no lower, the author describes acts that leave you amazed that
humans can be so cruel. A story of survival that needs to be told so that
we never forget the loss of so many innocent lives.

I have read many holocaust books of survival but this one left a mark on my heart. The story of a teenage girl, beginning to grow up and notice boys is suddenly thrust into concentration camp after concentration camp. Being torn from her family and placed in a Hell she didn't deserve or understand. This book is hard to read(emotionally)but is one of the greatest I have ever read. I will never forget it.
