The characters are well fleshed out. A bit slow to start but holds your interest long enough to pull you in.

Unlikely scenarios add to the adventure. Brutal circumstances of war tempered with tenderness and the true measure of a hero.

Could have used more romance.

Such a sad time in Scottish history. But this book sheds light on those that tried to give the survivors of Culloden hope. Wonderful characters, heart wrenching romance, and long awaited revenge join together for a fascinating story.

I enjoyed this book so much. I love the fiestiness of Rachel, and the tenderness of Gavin.I enjoyed the bantering between the brothers, who were so very different from each other but loved one another deeply. This book was full of adventure, humor and romance. Can't wait to follow these characters into the next book, Angels Fall.

I enjoy reading historical romances, especially ones that involve Scotland and Ireland. Two places I most want to visit. When reading this book, I could not put it down. I was transported in time to Scotland and the moors. I am looking forward to reading Adam's story, because he deserves a happy ending just like Gavin!

I was enthralled from the first chapter. The characters had depth and drew you in easily. I loved the poetry and beauty of how they spoke to one another. It was refreshing to read of a hero that didn't fit the typical mold.

This book kept me enthralled from beginning to end. The whole storyline was well thought out. It flowed from scene to scene smoothly. I loved the ending. Often you find the end of the book is not the end. Of the story. This wrapped up nicely.

This book surely ranks up there with the likes of Outlander as being one of my very favorites. It is a beautifully written, heart wrenching story of forgiveness and love. I can't wait to read Adam's story!

Definite brain candy! The author wrote beautiful descriptions of locations, of characters and their interactions making the scenes come alive. The quality of the writing and the overall editing were top notch. I'll be continuing with this series and learning more about the author as well.
