I absolutely loved this book. I was actually pretty sad when I neared the end of it so soon. I took this book everywhere with me--to lunch, on the bus, everywhere. And where ever I was, I was laughing out loud. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys teaching. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys learning. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys laughing, and appreciating the wonders that children provide.

When I read his book quoted in the last page of a magazine, I immediately bought it. It was about why he became a teacher.

This is a chanukah gift for my daughter Rachael who teaches preschool. I found the book most delightful, so much so I would call my sister a retired 2nd grade teacher and have to read her a passage as I was reading the book.. I am also going to give a fellow professor still involved with grade school children on a volunteer basis through Boston College the in formation about this book.. I loved it. The author writes well and makes every day events enteraining and causes you to look at them in a different way..

Phil Done is one amazing teacher/author! His love for kids and for the profession shine through on every page. He reaches all of us, whether teachers or just plain grown-ups who remember what it was like to be a kid. He tells his stories with warmth, humor and the wisdom of one who "gets" how children tick. How fortunate for the hundreds of youngsters who can say that "Mr. Done was their teacher." How fortunate for us that we can it experience it vicariously!

This book is absolutely hysterical, especially for teachers like me! Done paints the picture of what it is really like to be in our profession; it's truthful, yet inspiring. I found myself saying, "That is so true!" aloud almost every page. It's perfect to take to the pool or beach for a quick, entertaining read!

Mr Done describes life with children- with all their unpredictability, and precious moments from the eyes of the child, filtered through those of an amazing teacher. Both kids and adults in our family laughed out loud, and were reminded of some of lifes great lessons.

Mr. Done was my fourth grade teacher. I was positively THRILLED when I realized he had written a book. He was, by far, one of my most memorable teachers to this day. His book is amazing, and brought back a lot of awesome memories I have of elementary school. Excellent read.
