The content of this book is great, but this is some sort of collectible, the size of your palm or a matchbox. The sellers should be penalized by the store for not putting that detail in the title (or AT LEAST the details). Buy the real book, unless you're seeking to fill the shelves of your dollhouse bookcase.

How is this book rated so high? Check dimensions & photos. I missed this info. I would not describe as hardcover book. Typeset is too small. Would not buy because of size. Rating not based on content.

Read the description CAREFULLY! This book is VERY small...fits in the palm of your hand. VERY DISSAPOINTED. Would NOT have purchased this book as I was expecting a book for inclusion in my library. Very difficult to read because it is SO small. Will not purchase from this seller again.

I never bothered to check out the dimensions of this book. It is itsy-bitsy. The written contents would have been better just put into a skinny pamphlet. There's really very little information in here. I thought I would glean some wisdom from Mr. Trump. well, not so much. I'm very disappointed and feel like this was rip-off!!!

I ordered the hard cover to keep in my library but when it arived the book is only 3x2 inches. The site is a little misleading, making you think you are getting a regular sized book that you can read. Beware, this book is not readable, go for the paper back.

The other reviews didn't mention that this book fits in the palm of your hand. It's for my husband so I won't be reading it. I thought it was a "normal" size book. Dimensions are 1 inch by 1 inch. It will be put in his stocking instead of wrapped as a real gift! :(

I thought Donald Trump's last book was his best to date. In the same way that each of his buildings seems to trump his most recent, so too with this book. Trump has once again trumped Trump. This is his best book yet (why do I have a feeling that an even better book is already in process???).

This is an easy book for critics to dismiss as a celebrity fluff piece. But, the book really is far better than that. The fifty short essays, in and by themselves, are first rate commentary on important concepts for business and life. Taken together, the fifty essays provide a wonderful insight into the way Trump thinks and acts. And, gaining an insight into how Trump thinks and acts is worthwhile for he is world's pre-eminent master at personal brand building - a competency needed for almost every successful person.

Each of the fifty essays is well written, and each concept is illustrated by a short story to reinforce the point being made. The result is a book that almost invites speed reading...but I urge readers to slow down and really think through each of the fifty points being made. Even better yet, challenge yourself to grade yourself, as I have, on each of the fifty points. By grading yourself, I expect that you will gain new respect for Trump and new insights into just how brilliant Trump is.

Let's take the example of "You Can Better Your Best at Anytime." The fact that Donald Trump walks the talk with this mantra is readily apparent. Each of his buildings outdoes his previous best. As does each of his books. Etc. Etc. Prior to reading this book, that life philosophy was not woven into the fabric of my life. In a world where many guru's are preaching "good is good enough," Trump exhorts us to make our efforts a masterpiece. Now making everything a masterpiece could easily put someone into a state of frozen perfectionism, but Trump's philosophies also embrace a "get it done" style that is the antithesis to being frozen in perfectionism.

My greatest take-away from the book was one that came indirectly from the book. As I absorbed all that I was reading about Trump, the wisdom of Mike Robbin's terrific book Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken: Transform Your Life with the Power of Authenticity was heavy on my mind. Trump is the essence of the authenticity that Robbins suggests can be so powerful. As a result of these two books, I now see Trump as being bold, rather than just brash. A man who speaks his mind in a direct manner from which we can all learn. A man whose branding is based on the power of authenticity. And, a man whose real life gift is being a walking example of living an authentic life in an era where so many of our role models have been shown to be so lacking in authenticity.

Awesome book, especially for those who treat it like a classic and really, really reflect on the inner meaning of this collection of fifty thoughtful essays.

What in the world did I just receive. Mr. Trump, is this a joke? I want my money back. The title of this product should say miniature or gag. This is beyond deceiving. The image of the book is not the one I received. The product image is shaped to look like a real book, being substantially taller than wide, but the actual book is almost square. I can't even open the book. Mr. Trump, please send me my money back. The idea that great things come in small packages does not apply to books you can't open wide enough to read. Don't judge a book by it's cover is wrong here, too, because the cover is smaller than my hand and what little content there is can't be acquired because of the poor design of the book. This will be back in the mail by the end of the weekend.

Make sure you know what you are ordering. I didn't read the fine print like another reviewer and was very surprised when I received this tiny book. It was my mistake, but I was a little disappointed. I'm not going to return it because it isn't worth the hassle, but just make sure you pay attention.

I have read several of Donald J Trump's books and have found each one to be highly inspirational, educational, informative, and each a testimony to Donald J Trump's impeccable integrity, his boundless energy, his commitment to excellence, and love of America, Americans, and his uncanny ability to negotiate deals not only inconceivable to many very smart people, but unfathomable even when outlined / explained.

This "book" was a big JOKE. It was NOT a book but something one might find in a Cracker Jack box! I should have known that anything that was connected to Trump would be nothing but a joke and a fraud! Don't waste your money like I did.

Donald, you're fired. I cannot and will not recommend this book, it's horrible! First off, it fits in the palm of your hand- which I had NO clue about when I bought it on the store. It was kind of funny when I opened the the store package with the other books in it and this little thing, barely bigger than a matchbook slid out. I had to laugh. Trump burned me on that one, hah. Obviously, I let the store's SUPER convenient "one-click" buying process get the better of me. I should have realized the high number of 1 star reviews before buying this. I have no idea who would rate this 5 stars other than some lackee on Trump's payroll who was specifically told to go onto the store and rate this exact book 5 stars. That being said, I did read this entire "book?" (if you can call it that) and it wasn't any good. It is structured around several famous and quotes, by other people that are followed up by what I think are the Donald's take on them. Sometimes he corresponds his efforts with the quotes, other times he kind of just drops random thoughts and adds in another obscure quote of his own. Don't buy this thing, whatever it is. I would say buy it if you're looking to get a good laugh but I can't even say that. Just move on, don't waste your time. I actually wish there was an option for zero stars.

Note: A very small book. Not just short, but literally can fit in the palm of your hand. It's a neat little book of quotes and small thoughts, but that's about it. There's really not much more to say about it. It's not bad as long as you know what you're getting.

This book is really about getting and keeping the Trump brand name out there in every way possible and another opportunity to brag about "The Apprentice," designing golf courses, and so on.

The writing is slangy informal "guys" and amateur. (No need to say "My advice is" if you're the author.) You can get just as much from "Poor Richard's Almanac," nothing new.

He is a congenial warrior and his working style has much to recommend it. You find out how good you have to be to work for Trump. He's very demanding of his workers, especially, those at the top. (So much for businessmen having it made.) Some advice: Work your hobby or side interest into your business acumen.

He outright states that speaking engagements are mainly acting, performance art.

Quick, easy reading, although more motivational essays than serious business instruction. Brilliant selection of quotes throughout from Aristotle to Einstein.

On the jacket of his latest book, THINK LIKE A CHAMPION,
Donald Trump notes:

* I may be successful already, but I learn something new
every day.

Though I obviously have not achieved Trump's success,
that exactly sums up what I try to do every day; i.e., learn . . . and
it is the reason why I liked this book so much.

In a collection of short essays, Trump openly shares his ideas
and about what works for him--and, also, what
doesn't . . . he covers a diverse number of topics, ranging from
President Obama to the stock market and including the need
to keep the big picture in mind, Stephen King, imagination and
building your reputation.

Golf, one of his passions, is covered as well:

* Most of you know that I'm a golfer. I've always said that golf is
a brain game, which it is, but it is a demanding sport technically
and is a game of finesse. You cannot play golf halfheartedly and
expect to get anywhere with your game. You have to concentrate
and you have to have patience. As the legendary golfer Bobby
Jones said, "It is nothing new or original to say that golf is played
one stroke at a time. But it took me many years to realize it." We
win in our daily lives by being careful with every day, by having
a champion's view of each moment.

However, it was this tidbit that really caught my attention:

* Some financial courses are dry-but necessary. I was able to handle
them by making them more interesting in my own mind by
applying the principles immediately to some imaginary project I
would come up with. By doing this, I was already working in the real
world while I was in school, which I think saved me a lot of time
when I actually got started on my own. I had been multitasking
before I knew what multitasking was.

What a great idea to apply when it comes to any course, seminar
or meeting we attend!

I think I've read about all of Trump's 13 book . . . if he keeps
coming up with others winners such as THINK LIKE A CHAMPION,
I'll remain a fan and look forward to his next one.

People who think poorly of this book tend to judge it in terms of how to make money. Well, if you apply just ONE of the fifty odd lessons in this book, you will do better in business. Thus, from a sheer financial perspective, this book is worth its cost.

Some people also seem to dislike how Trump speaks about his past, present, and future business endeavors and relationships. Personally, I find scenario-based wisdom to be the best way to teach concepts. I suppose some people prefer a clinical academic approach to teaching concepts, but more likely, they just wanted to bash Trump. Further, if you read between the lines, you see that Trump is executing sound marketing by tooting his own horn.

But hey, unlike most of his other books, this book isn't about business...it is about "Thinking Like a Champion". I have several books about how to think like a champion by sports athletes which are good, but Trump's perspective on this line of thinking is unique and, yet, very familiar. Obviously, athletes incorporate a good bit of sports psychology in their 'champion-thinking' which is good for performance, but Trump offers a more holistic approach. It obviously would have strong applications in business, but also in most other aspects of life.

There is a great Zen book out there called 'The Three Pillars of Zen: Teaching, Practice and Enlightenment'. Business-wise (and perhaps life-wise), Trump has been enlightened and practiced his knowledge to become a successful (business) person. Now, through The Apprentice, seminars, and his books, Trump is fulfilling the third pillar: teaching. However, in his books, he does not have to temper his teaching with gimmicky terminations. He is free to just pass on his wisdom...and he does so with a surprisingly gentle, albeit straight-forward, hand. Trump's latest books are like a stern kung-fu fighter who has won his land and glory and now, as a master, joyously passes his knowledge to those who are willing to learn.

I didn't intend to pick up this book initially. It was just sort of there, at the bookstore, and I happened on it by chance. Respecting the Donald as a man who has had greater financial ups and downs then most of us will ever know I felt I should give it the random page test to see if it had any value. The essay I chose was Think Like A Genius. That hooked me. I skimmed some other chapters and was floored by what I was reading. This was to be my book for today.

I finished it within a few days, not suprising as it is around 200 pages and extremely engrossing. I can honestly say that every essay inspired me to accelerate my what can only be described as stuck state of mind to a place of forward movement. The comparison I draw here is like an Athlete looking for that extra push of motivation and turns on say a training clip from a Rocky movie or a decent motivational video from YouTube. Not only can I say it inspired me but also educated me.

As some of my previous reviews will show I like to read books on self-betterment (for lack of a better word or phrase) and most have been dealing with the internal battles we wage. This is one for the direction of getting out there and making something of yourself regardless of what you are going to do. This is not a "How to get rich" book it's a how to motivate yourself to reach the upper limits of what you want to achieve in life. If you say to yourself, I only ever want to wash dishes then start reading this book. You might finish with the desire to start a company of dishwashing contractors and/or be the head dishwasher in a 5 star hotel. How's that? Because you were motivated to achieve the highest standards of dishwashing possible and as the book will say, you act effectively, quickly and move on. You also don't shy away from notoriety or self promotion.

I give this 5+ stars. This is a book I will definitely continue to re-read. Thank you Mr. Trump.

Here we are in election year, and in going over the past of the west, and the u.s.,i have decided to go over this seminal writer thinker activist politician and very successful personality and business person and celebrity. His very success is what shocks us in so many ways and in going through his books,I'm getting something not evinced in the soundbites, and snapshots the media is fond of,but more what he wants you to know of himself, his world, and success and as he has aged and erich fromm like entered into the wisdom stage of life,he is more interested in the political realm, the merging of politics and business ethics, this is where he finds fertile ground, and his newest book is mostly about politics and his perceptions of life and america with an overview of one world,a globalized world where what happens on one end effects you in your neighbourhood all too swiftly..like a passing meteorite but the more recent book is for a later date here we have a book of short length,a series of aphorisms which the general reader can pick up,but the more university trained reader can understand more. Every thinker regardless of where he situates himself whether it be economics sociology psychology or whatever looks through the gaze of one foundation for the most part, this is just the mode of science and experimentation. His views of government are largely that of aldous huxley and he sees this as a warning, and here we have a short quip from a huxley essay, and this really fits in with our modern view, and the conservative view has always been that liberalisn never remains moderate but veers over time to the extreme as in huxley's brave new world ...and interpretation wise he likes c.g.jung,and on occasion
greek thinkers, who were very good at surmising human nature, and he does spend time on the key concepts of perception,
experience and how we interpret things and the gist of the whole view is on constructing, how we think and come up
with our world, and he espouses in all these works a kind of moralist view of business and life from a conservative standpoint,he is intent on getting a real view of the world as it exists, and as a thinker inquiring how to be successful,in business and also in life, and the business world is a reality center of life...of course the world is seen as a good place but only through the vantage point of thinking toward a real place where you can be rich and perhaps happy...of course he admits life isnt always fair. I'm digging deeper into what is actually there, for the more serious reader and one who doesnt wish to go there can appreciate it or dismiss it as their whims move them..but the change in the world blowing everywhere seems to be moving in his direction and lets see come election day what that means??

Trump shows incredible common sense and he absolutely has my vote! His solutions are so simple and so straightforward I am very impressed! It is time to cut the political rhetoric and run this country as our forefathers intended it to be run and I believe Trump can do that. His book lays out his plan which I think is incredibly smart on all fronts! This book an absolute must read.

Donald Trump does it again! Authors write because they feel the need to express with others something they have learned, taught, experienced, created, or just feel the need to Help people grow. Donald Trump is saying go against the tide and he's right, because what he's really expressing, is to be yourself, follow in your own footsteps and don't be afraid to follow what's in your heart. I would buy any one of Donald Trump's books because his passion behind his work is truly inspirational and helpful. Hats off to a man who wants to better the world! "Think Like A Champion," is a wonderful read that will get you thinking, motivate you to live your dreams, and help you to understand that challenges in life are always going to arise, it's up to you to learn how to master the art of winning these battles!

I became interested in this book after watching Trump being interviewed by Bill O'Reilly. Trump simply defines success. As time marches on, his expanding interests are usually defined as very successful endeavors. Therefore, if you want to learn to cook, listen to a chef. If you want a successful career, listen to Trump. By branding himself, he has at this point in his life, developed the midas touch with real estate, gaming, publishing and basically anything else he sets his eye upon.

If you already keep abreast of Trumps past books and other writings, you will find some of this material to be a repeat. Nevertheless, as packaged, it is very relevant, compelling and authoritative.

Some of the essays stood out for me. The one titled There Are Times When You Should Move On reminds me of the old cowboy saying - "When your horse dies, get off." My favorites and the ones that I will begin immediately applying were:

* Give Your Higher Self a Chance
* Strive for Wholeness
* Go Against the Tide

Taken as a holistic approach, this book - if really applied - can be the start of a person 'creating their own luck' as Trump states. I can recommend it to my friends, not only in the business arena but also in my personal life. I believe they will find strategies and techniques that will spark positive results.

I hope you find this review helpful.

Lately I've been studying several books on financial literacy, real estate, and investing. This was a nice book to mix in among my other readings because I think it's important to study the thought processes of those who are doing what want to do. This seemed to be a collection of random essays, blogs, and articles on various topics. If that is the case, it was nice to have them all compiled in one book. I loved how each chapter was succinct and guided by a powerful quote. It was a nice supplement to, and break in between all of the business and finance books that I've been reading.

Yeah, it's a small sized book, but Donald has small hands...really small hands. What did you expect? Going forward, I wouldn't be surprised if he mandated that all books be this size so they easily fit in his Trump sized hands. We just need to adapt and get used to this.

He is SMARTER THAN YOU!!!! No im not being sarcastic, unless you are bill gates or some other forbes 500 entrepreneur, you are not as smart as Trump or you would have made more money than him by now.

Trump is straight and to the point, he knows what mindset you need for success. Take it and improve your life with it or be a wuss and "refuse" to buy into it. If you dont think trump knows how to be successful you are indeed stupid.

You complainers are probably a bunch of occupy wall street goons.

I just love "the Donald!" This is definitely one of his better books b/c the advice is authentic and he spoke from his gut. I like that. Although he is a celebrity, he's still human and his "human side" came through in this book. You go, Donald!

I gave it four stars b/c I'm not much of a fan of the "nugget" style writing. I prefer longer narratives. Other than that, the book is great and is a good quick read.

Donald Trump's name has become a brand like Coca-Cola - you may love him or hate him but you expect quality and you get it. This book proves that Trumps talents exceed business acumen and TV personality - he can write and share his insight in the highly attractive (and not very easy) form of an essay.
This collection is rather broad - it includes Trump's comments on current politics, business, investments, psychology but also literature. Actually, it is quite interesting to listen to Trump's comments on matters which seem to be outside his area of expertise. He approaches them with ready intelligence and openness which are sometimes more valuable then experience or erudition (though frankly speaking - he has an impressive amount of both), it is only from a different angle that we can see aspects we have missed so far.
Obviously, the most practical value is to be derived from Trump's comments on business. I liked his insistence on sticking to one's guns (or as he would more likely say "protecting one's assets" or "going against the tide") - he has certainly proved with his life that this a policy which makes sense in the longer run.
If you think about going into business, Trump has a lot to teach you. If you are in business, Trump can help you get better at what you're doing. The truth is that whatever you do you can achieve more if you learn to take advice from wise people. This book proves that Donald Trump is one of them.

My "other half" bought this book for me for Mother's Day (Well, one of the many presents for M Day but my family thinks I'm a champion and feels that I should have this book) and I love it!!! Each chapter starts with a "Thought of the Day." I found the book very positive. Buy it and read these interesting outlooks on life. It is possible to achieve anything you dream.

The book is not just mini in size. It looks like a lot of the content was taken out.
Some of these essays appear to be abbreviated versions of the original. While it does
still capture the same ideas, I think it should be mentioned in the product description
that material was removed.

This book was good. The reason I didnt rate it higher was becasue I felt it was a repeat of one of Trumps previous books. Nevertheless, it was a good reinforcement on having the right business mindset in order to be successful.
I think that everyone can gain something from it.

I recommned this book as a nice and easy read.

Was this the textbook for Trump University? Trump needs to release his tax returns. Is he in debt or involved with Russian oligarchs? Is he a sleeper agent? And while we are at it, he needs to release his college transcripts. Is he a recipient of affirmative action via his dad making a sizable donation to Wharton to gain his son admittance? We also should be scrutinizing his birth certificate. It might be a forgery and his hair is an unnatural color and his last name is not Trumpf but Drumpf which doesn't sound very American. How much per year does the Trump family spend on plastic surgery? Enquiring minds want to know.

The book keeps form with Mr. Trumps value for brevity in that it is concise, only 198 pages, but offers his valuable insight on an informal education on business and life from a seasoned entrepreneur.

Trump places a quote atop each chapter by such individuals as Albert Einstein, Aristotle, Henry Ford, Napoleon, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Abraham Lincoln, Socrates, Henry David Thoreau, etc. Some of the author's suggestions that I found valuable include:

"Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success. - Henry Ford" (11).
"...a good way to handle difficult and even tragic times - to find blessing in the midst of adversity" (14).
"Never think of learning as being a burden or studying as being boring. It may require some discipline, but it can be an adventure" (17).
"The more you learn, the more you realize what you don't know" (35).
"As Jack Dempsey said, "A champion is someone who gets up when he can't" (39).
"I view my work as an art form" (43).
"Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world" - Ralph Waldo Emerson (51).
"Business is no place for stream of consciousness babbling, no matter how colorful you might think you are being. Whatever you're doing, keep it short, fast, and direct. (61)
"People appreciate brevity in today's world" (63).
"Don't find fault, find a remedy" - Henry Ford" (65).
"We are all businessmen and women, whether you see it that way yet or not. If you like art and can't make money at it, you eventually realize that everything is a business, even your art...I see my business as an art and so I work at it passionately." (86).
"Men are born to succeed, not fail. - Henry David Thoreau" (101).
"You can better your best at any time" (121).
"The important thing is not to stop questioning, curiosity has it's own reason for existing. - Albert Einstein" (131).
"Be sincere, be brief, be seated. - Franklin D. Roosevelt. Know your audience." (157).
"Build your reputation" (169).
"Diligence is the mother of good luck - Benjamin Franklin" (173).

The author guides the reader through a series of short and concise educational lessons that he has picked up along his business and life journey. Trump is a businessman but also an educator in this work, this book is a good resource for those wanting to advance themselves in business and life. Donald Trump clearly thinks highly of himself and has stories that support his greatness to prove it. Nothing really wrong with that except it is clear he is not a very introspective or interesting person in general. This book bears that out. Don't waste your money you will get no answers here.

I do not write reviews, but this one I could not pass. Looking at the man on the picture, I figured, I can learn something here. Imagine my disappointment. Mr. Trump has many thoughts but cannot connect them together in a comprehensive or cohesive way (strangely for a man who went through the best business school in the country). As another reviewer pointed out, he would be better off hiring a professional to write for him. Tons of general statements which rotate around 4 main topics - get education, treat business as an art, be courageous, and I am the best. Do not need to write the book to convey these messages. This book is full of quotes from other great men - if you took those quotes out and removed the repetitive thoughts, this book would be 3 pages long.

I've read Trump material and to be honest I should have spent that time researching Trump himslelf. There is really nothing new in his books. Take a long, hard look at Trump who claims to be successful.

He's officially become the crazy old rich guy. From his intellectually lazy political views to his recycled advice, dont waste your time. He's cranking out drivel faster than he's scamming potential condo buyers in Mexico.

I was beyond disappointed. I was looking for some real answers and all I got was fluff and a bunch of stories from his life. If I wanted to know about all of the people in his life, I would have bought the auto biography. Don't waste the money!!!

...and at that point, I vomited all over the book, making the rest of it unreadable. So I can only comment on as far as I got. (shrug) Calling the most treasonous president in history a "great man" shows Mr. Trump may have a great mind for business, but a terrible mind for politics. Enough said.

first step to being a champion and getting/staying rich is not wasting money on crap like this book. what advice does trump really have? waste the millions you inherited from your slumlord daddy on hootchie momma wives and bankruptcies? bilk investors and then quit when the going gets tough? the only people who would buy this book are those dumber than the donald - and if there are many of them well then we all are doomed.

How can you take seriously a man who has filed for bankruptcy 3 times costing millions of dollars to creditors and taxpayers alike and was so saddled with debt in the 90s he was put on an allowance? Motivational? Yes, if you are a sad case conservative who for some reason thinks it's better to beat the system than participate in it. The fact that a core group of Republicans support him show just how far down that party has gone.
As Trump walks away from failed business ventures only to find new creditors to default on, I'm not the least bit interested in his motivational techniques. I was appalled by how banal the messages were in this book. Only people who clearly won't get anywhere in business would find his 'informal' motivational techniques truly motivational.

His show should be called The biggest loser.

He gave Americans a FORMAL education on what Secretary Clinton was nefariously doing in the bathroom and I for one am glad he did! He is not afraid to talk about pooping and other bathroom things such as nose hair removal and shower fungus!
