The Secret Life of Pets Little Golden Book (Secret Life of Pets)

I was hoping this would be based on the storyline of the movie. Instead it is only a description of each character...and last page is Katie bringing Duke home, nothing more about Duke or the the story. Disappointed.

I agree with other reviewers that it is a nice book; however, this is a terrible adaptation from the movie. As one reviewer pointed out it is more of an introduction to each character. Essentially the book ends where the first approximate 10 minutes of the movie take place. It was unexpected and I actually wondered at first whether pages were missing from the book. In contrast, I also ordered Zootopia (another larger and more complex film like Secret Life of Pets) and that adaptation was quite good.

I can't believe people are rating this so high! If you have seen the movie and then read this, you are disappointed. It's a recap of the characters and the last page says Katie gets Duke. My daughter was very excited for this book but it lacked the plot line that she loves. She was very disappointed. It does have nice illustrations.

If you are familiar with the story you'll know that after Duke arrives is when the story really gets going. Not with this book. The last page of the book is when Duke arrives!!! What the heck?! If you have a kid like mine, there will be a lot of confusion and even some anger when you get to the end.

Long story short, it summarizes the movie. My daughter loves all of the Disney Golden Books. I personally find them a bit weird because while they do summarize the movie, random bits of info are included with no reference in earlier pages, so if you aren't familiar with the movie it seems really off. Just the right length to be included in the rotation of bedtime stories.

I wanted a summary for the movie!I ended up wasting my money for such a terrible book.Each page,there was a new character and at the end,it just shows a dog and nothing else!!!!!!!I would never buy this book again!

Disappointed to find that there is no story to this book. It is an introduction of the characters (they each get a page with their name and a characteristic) but there is no storyline! My daughter was hoping for a story.

My grandson will adore it. Also if u Wark it as a gift u can completely type over their sentiment and put in your own. Trim the paper when it arrives and tape it the cover with a single piece of paying tape

I hesitated to get this book based on the other reviewers who stated this is only character introduction, not the story line itself. Since I got my grandsons a set of Pets figures, this book is a nice companion.
