The first three books of this series was given to me as a Christmas present. I loved the first 3 and am now on #5. These books are long and involved, I like them this way. I have not read an epic series that is better than this series, including Game of Thrones series.

The Shadow Rises is a rich display of masterful writing by one of the genre's great writers! Full, carefully crafted, TSR is non-stop adventure that doesn't disappoint. The story fragments beautifully and keeps you engaged from cover to cover.

Dang. I just love this story! I especially like this portion because it where more of the Aiel and their culture are introduced. Now I'm on to book 5. Yep, I'd highly recommend this series and author.

I've been loving this series. The character development has been great, from being annoying and young boyish behavior, to watching the characters grow and become more open (or closed off!).

It's fantastic!

More than hooked, I see that some books are clearly not as strong, but Jordan has me. He has build a huge HUGE world with so many major and minor characters that I've accepted it won't be all about the true power and that he knows what is best for me.

In a continuation of his epic series, Jordan opens several paths to explore both the characters and realms of The Wheel of Time Series. As Nyneve and Elayne continue in there hunt of the black ajah, Perrin and his companions rush to the Two Rivers racing towards rumors of danger. Mat still strives to find his place in the world, even as Rand struggles to stay one step ahead of his opponents. Filled with adventure, passion, thought, sorrow, and joy, The Shadow Rising is an excellent continuation of this stunning series.

I'm continuing to enjoy the Wheel of Time books. Like the others, this book starts relatively slow, but picks up to reveal another huge plot point near the end. Some may not enjoy the slow unraveling of the Dragon Reborn's story, but I enjoy the build up. I also enjoy the interactions among characters, and their changing mindsets toward one another as the story continues.

Love rereading this series on the Kindle so much easier than lugging around the massive tome of a hardback or the small print of the paperback. This is a great book in the series the characters and plot really start getting complex.

The fourth installment and it keeps getting better. Perrin's protection, Rand's journey, and Mat's acquisitions; the journey of the tavar'en moves on, and on, and on, in this gripping, heart-stopping treasure!!!!! A must read for any and all fans of fantasy and even science fiction!!!!!

Following along with Rand's conflict within himself and his friends and family is nothing less than great adventure. I can't wait to find out Mat's involvement and how Perrin will fair as a new ruler.

Once again this book-chapter in the Wheel of Time saga can suck you in and won't let you put it down. The need for know and for closure keeps me reading through the mid point of this tale. The character development beyond Rand is superb.

Mat is easily my favorite character In this series. HOWEVER the women in these books make me so angry at times with how self obsessed they are. Each book our favorite characters grow in power but Perrin lies in his subtleties.

I feel that The Shadow Rising really follows Perrin`s story closely, and develops his character. Perrin is my favorite character, and the Wheel Of Time is my favorite book series. Once I finish a book, I immediately purchase the next one and spend every second of my leisure time reading it. I LOVE THESE BOOKS! <3 now..... leave me alone, I'm reading the next book! :P

The story continues to grow. The many parts of what makes the whole expanding and multiplying. Some may think it a mess. Perhaps they just aren't in the same league as the authors mastery of his pen. A truly enjoyable work of art.

This was another tantalizing story I couldn't put down! Robert Jordan continues to draw the reader into a world of fantasy and creativity. The balance between good and evil always teeters back and forth from page to page. I felt like I was there battling Trollics and entering Ruidean alongside with Rand Al' Thor. Truly another masterpiece in this series!
