Be sure to read these books in order to understand the side stories! I thought this book was satisfyingly steamy! I didn't like Danni as well as the other female leads in this series but still enjoyed the plot and the book.

I love this series!!! This one definitely didn't disappoint! The characters were beautifully written and well developed :) you can't help but fall for Caine and his bad boy attitude or Danni and her strength and stubbornness. I can't wait for the next book :)

I literally could not put this third installment of the Pyte/Sentinel series down
As usual in Mathewson's books Caine believes he should be able to continue to live his life as he pleases but his woman must live to only please him-of course with all the other books he quickly finds out that will never be the case
I also enjoyed catching up with established characters as well
lots of action, lots of steamy love and lots of laughs

For those of us who have been waiting patiently for this addition to the series, I can only say that it has been worth it. Here we meet Caine the hero, a Pyte who has been in existence for almost a thousand years. Caine works for the sentinel council, going on patrols with the sentinels killing rogue vampires and demons.
Due to the unstable situation between the sentinels and their enemies, Caine has been assigned to babysit a group of humans who have been sent to destroy a nest of vampires. These humans are the children of sentinel couples, unlike their parents who are part human and part angel, they are completely human. Amongst their number is a woman Danni, she once had a close relationship with Caine. When she was a small child and her parents were frequently absent on missions she latched on to Caine demanding he look after her and be her friend. At the time Caine found he was unable to resist Danni when she was a child, unlike everyone else she was never afraid of him. But as she grew older he cut her out of his life, deciding it was for her own good. He had not spoken to her for years. He knew this had hurt her, but that's just the way things were going to be.
Unfortunately the human leading this mission is a complete idiot, which culminated in Danni and Caine being captured by a group of vampires.
this is an excellent read, loved the two leading characters, their relationship was at times hot and passionate, and at others was tense and full of trepidation. Caine is a loner he cares for no one except número uno. whereas Danni is keen to prove to the council that she is able to do the same job as the sentinels, even though she is human with no special abilities.
Characters from the previous book are also featured. It was lovely to read about Chris, Izzy, Madison Ephraim and the rest of the family. There are also a cast of new characters introduced, in particular a werewolf shifter named Jax. He definitely needs his own story, (hope you're taking note RL). This is a great read with a lot of passion and emotion. There is also plenty of action elsewhere in the book.
This is not strictly speaking a stand alone novel, it would be better to read the two preceding books Tall, Dark & Lonely (Pyte/Sentinel Series) and Without Regret (Pyte/Sentinel Series) both excellent reads as well.

I really enjoyed most of this book. There was some repetitive emotional and mental moments that started to irritate me. There were likable and hateable characters. There were a few characters that I could not decide whether I liked them or not. I guess time will tell. Izzy and Kale continue their antics.

I really liked that the relationship for Caine and Danni was developed over time. I liked that Danni was a fighter, but I was not expected the twists in the story. Several parts of the book were sad while other sections were action packed and made your heart race.

I enjoyed this book and felt as though the writing seems better progressively. This is an appropriate read for 18+ due to language and very adult situations.

I love this series!!

This book focuses on Caine who is a Pyte working for a Sentinel network. Ephraim had mentioned other Pytes working for Sentinals so it was cool to see how another sect worked. This sect employed the daughters and sons of Sentinals that are human. One of those daughters is Danni. She is a fierce fighter but she is only human. She has known Caine since she was a toddler.

He would take care of her...kissed scraped knees, tell her stories, watch disney movies with her, dress up for Halloween. There is nothing he wouldn't do for this little girl. When she turned 17...he started to desire her blood (he is a pyte afterall). He was so afraid that he would hurt her that he cut off their relationship. He didn't talk to her for like 10 years.

Now she is like 26/27...she is still working for the Sentinals, still being ignored by the only person she truly cared about, and just going through the motions of her life. Till Caine and her get captured....

A deal is made...Caine has to turn her and impregnate her with a Pyte. He refuses of course and has to watch her be tortured. It gets pretty difficult for him to resist...

All of my favorite characters are still there:

Chris and Izzy: Still in love...she is pregnant with their son and both love their daughter.

Joshua: Is chained in the basement throughout the whole book...till the end. He does something horrible and escapes.

Madison and Eph: Still in love...Madison is pregos with twin boys.

Lucan and Jill: Need to have their own book. You are totally teased with their relationship. I mean you know Jill is visiting him in the cells every night but you are never with them in the book. Chris catches them in a compromising position but you never know what lead up to get to that point.

The book leaves you with so many questions...we need a book 4!

I wasn't really interested in the new characters because I was expecting Joshua and Jill's story but I guess this characters should somehow tie to epriams past. I found myself skipping through the pages with Cain and Danny simply because I was more interested in other characters development like Joshua and Jill or kale which I love. Their was a lot of sex, now don't get me wrong I like my erotic romances but I kinda got tired of the sex... Again I was more focus on what was happening with the other characters instead of the hero and the heroines story. I felt Like there was a lot of issues that was unresolved like what the heck makes Joshua, is he now a hybrid? is he somehow going to be evil? Also I have the suspicion that kale will be tied to baby Jessica just saying..... Also we are introduced to another characters like Ethan and Jax, frankly I think Ethan is eps daddy but that just me... There's major cliffhangers all I can say is that I'm looking forward to the next book because of Jill and I hope that we get to Joshua because frankly I kinda love/hate what happened to sweet Joshua I guess all the hero must suffer before they get their happy ending.

Once again R. L. Mathewson scores. I really enjoy reading this whole series and can't wait for the next installment. I love her style of writing and the way she keeps up with this family. Each story lets you know what is happening with each and every member of this close knit family. I don't want to put my book down ever because it captures my attention and they do pick up where the last one ends making it one big story. I will be getting the next one as soon as it is released.

This review is short since L.Sims covered everything I wanted to say better than I could, I'll just add that I loved the characters Caine and Danni, in fact everything about this book and I can't believe that we've been waiting well over a year for the next one, come on RL write faster.
