The False Prince is an engaging book. Well written and edited. It was a quick read. The main character is likeable, as are most of the supporting characters. There is a little violence in it (not graphic) so may not be appropriate for those under 10. Other than that, it is a clean book and I will read the whole trilogy.

I stayed awake into the early morning hours to finish this book. I can't remember the last time I did that (Hey, my kiddo wakes up at 5:30. Don't judge me for going to bed by 10...) So I say it deserves fives stars for that alone.

The pacing of this novel was fantastic. Even though I knew what the plot twist would be (practically from reading the jacket copy alone), that didn't stop me from wanting to figure out *how* everything was going to be revealed or how Sage would navigate the delicate situation with Conner. The secondary characters each had their own motives and history, so it didn't feel like there were any cardboard cutouts.

There were times I felt like Sage acted a little out of character - times when I felt like he was being *too* mouthy or reckless when he knew that wouldn't get him what he wanted. I also felt like he didn't always act his age. There were also some elements that I felt like didn't quite add up.

Even with that said, those little things didn't keep me from enjoying the story. It's well written, the characters are multi-faceted and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Looking forward to reading the next one.

I was sucked into this book right from the start. I loved the plot, I really enjoyed the character development. I was 100 pages away from the ending, and went ahead and ordered the second book, and paid 1 day shipping so I wouldn't have to wait too long for it! It just came today, wait... why am I on the store giving a review. I should be reading the second book!

This book was unexpectedly awesome. I didn't have a lot of expectations going into it, but found myself loving the wit and cleanliness of this book. I really is a marvelous book. People may compare it to Hunger Games and Harry Potter, but I would only compare the three in the sense that they are all books you read and want to share with others. The story line, the characters, and other literary tools are not to be compared - this book is not some bizarre "Harry-Potter-in-a-Murderous-Quidditch-Game-televised-on-a-reality-tv-show-in-a-futuristic-society-run-by-You-Know-Who". Don't be fooled. :) It is, however, similar as it is a book that you think about for days afterwards and want all your friends to read it so you can discuss it with them. Enjoy!

This is an amazing story. Connor is looking for an orphan boy who can impersonate Jaron, Prince of Carthya. He gathers three boys and then takes them to his estates to groom for two weeks before he chooses the one to be the Prince. The other two not only face failure but death as well if they lose.

The False Prince was definitely a surprise! I expected a decent book instead got an incredible story of treason, murder, and hope. Very well-written, with characters that you actually want to know what happens to them. I can't WAIT to read the next book!

This book definitely gripped me with all the humor and sarcasm and surprises throughout.

I could not put down this book!

Hopefully, I believe that this book could be almost as popular as the Harry Potter series.

Loved it!

Love, love love this series! This book is fantastic for kids and adults, boys and girls. I actually read the series months ago and am now reading it again with my 7 & 9 year old boys. This book is fun and so very clever.

I love this series! I was totally hooked from the very beginning and had to read more! I am usually a romance reader, so having a hero instead of a heroine was new for me. It was so good I didn't even miss the romance at all!

I totally love this book! It is full of adventure as well as lies to keep the people important safe. There is a very tangled life of a boy called Sage who ends up as someone who was lost then found, you could say. Read this book it's awesome I cannot wait to read the next book.

This is a great book! I enjoyed watching the characters grow and learn from their experiences.
This book would be great for young teenage audiences, especially young men would enjoy this book. There is action, plotting, and mystery throughout the whole book. That said I am in my mid 20's and loved the book though. Cannot wait for the second installment!

This is actually a middle school Truman nominee this year. That's why I picked it up in the first place. It is well written, witty, cunning, and flat out entertaining. I recommend this for both boys and girls ( I am a girl ). If you have read the land of stories, the sisters Grimm, the Percy Jackson books I think you will really enjoy this one.

I read a lot of books, fictiona and nonfiction (20 to 25 in a year). Anyway, this book is wonderful and completely appropriate for kids. You might as well get it and the sequel as well (The Runaway King).

I enjoyed this book with all of its interesting twists and turns. It takes the reader on a wild ride to the highs and lows of orphaned boys. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series to come out. Well worth the read. I'm having trouble finding good reads this summmer but I can assure you that if you liked the Hunger games, you'll enjoy this book.

I purchased this book for my 11 year old daughter because she loved the book Mark of the Thief which was written by the same author. She just finished reading The False Prince and loved this one as well! She can't wait to start on the next two in the trilogy.

Great, engaging story — especially for students grades 6-8. This is the kind of reading they need. Fast paced, adventurous and inclusive, I guarantee this novel will have your kids reading several chapters ahead of schedule.

I read some reviews before I started to read this book. After I finished it, I couldn't wait but start to read the second one -- just like what the reviews told me. And, my 4th grader enjoyed it very much too. I even bought the Audio so we can listen to the story in car. This is a very good novel!
