Thru the Bible 1-5 (5 Volume Set)

After listening to J Vernon for years on the radio. I was then given a 5-volume set as a gift and it was like listening to J Vernon over coffee in my kitchen. So purchased this set to give to a fellow traveler on the road to spiritual maturity.

This set is in great condition even though it was used. I have wanted these books for a while and couldn't afford to order from the retail stores. If you want to read the Bible and get a better understanding and history of the times, this is for you. I HIGHLY recommend this set. My preacher told me about it. I love it!!!

I read a chapter a day of this "Commentary" There are several things I enjoy about it. The first is is that it is a Systematic Bible Study. And even though I don't do the research with the writer (Dr. J. Vernon McGee), it is better to have his input than my own. Because I'm a mom, I'm 35 and I don't have a theologian degree. I'm just a Bible enthusiast. Dr. McGee has a psychological plus Theologian doctorate, and I love that because he makes sense in a down to earth perspective. He knows how our "habits" can keep us from growing in faith and in grace and as a person and most of all, he seems to have so many years of experience as a leader, because there is no personality that I haven't encounter in work places, as difficult as people may seem, that he doesn't fully understand what's behind the "intention" of this person that you are encountering. It is very remarkable. The Bible is indeed a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. And Doctor McGee, it is the Holy Spirit's pen for my daily reading. I can't recommend enough this great book. It makes the whole difference when you understand what you are reading. It is learning the easy way when life is hard.

Wonderful set of books from a wise preacher, I always wanted this set and now I have it at a great price.

This gives a great insight into the bible and what it means and should mean to us, Dr McGee left us with a most wonderful resource.

McGee's commentary style is both very insiteful and very easy to follow for a lay person like myself. He uses everyday things and events to help you understand what the writes of the bible meant with certain phrases or words. Also the kindle version in a great bargain. I have purchased several of the individual books commentaries from him and they cost about $8 to $10 apiece.

This set of commentaries met my expectations. Love it! So easy to follow along and very thought provoking. Much to ponder. I like the history that it brings out of that particular day I'm reading about.

wonderful volume set to study the Bible with. Just can't say enough about the set. Dr. McGee was a gift from God for help spreading the word of God. Dr. McGee has made the Bible so much easier to understand.

Thru the Bible clears up some of the symbolism used in the bible. Thru the Bible makes it easier to understand the bible. This book is no substitute for the Word of God. I believe you should use this commentary while reading the entire bible. The New Testament makes more sense after reading Volumes 1-3. Revelation makes sense after knowing the history of the Israelites and the church. This book has blessed my life!

I am really glad I purchased these commentaries. The price was very reasonable and I have listened to Dr. McGee for years on the radio. The commentaries are easy to understand and written in plain language.

This a most excellent study for those wishing to become schooled in the scriptures. I have all five volumes and highly recommend them--I used to hear J. Vernon when he was on the radio. This is the next best thing!

This is a great commentary to use with your bible studying. I have often e joyed listening to J. Vernon McGee. I would highly recommend. It is perfect on a device because your don't have to lug around a heavy book! A definite 5 star rating.

The day that I received my shipment I started reading these books. J. Vernon McGee has a way to lay out in front of you how he understands the scripture. I am learning more through these pages about God's word that I have learned in 25 plus years in other studies. I suggest a new Christian or even a more mature Christian read these.
