The character development and world building are amazing! I really truly enjoyed the situations and fun magical adventures the main character went on. It builds up slow, but overtakes you pretty fast. There is only some issues with confusing plot in the beginning. After that everything is wonderful and well thought out!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

This book drew me in the moment I read the first chapter. A beautifully written fantasy with a lot of moving parts. I enjoyed the romance, action and character development. Note: I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This book is everything I look for when picking a book. There is action, romance, mystery and good characters who have flaws and need to grow. The pacing of the book is pretty good although I feel it gets a little slow in the middle. The romance is great but the characters get distracted by each other at points and seem to forget about the bigger picture. Those bits are frustrating but not enough to prevent me from reading OR stopping me from wanting to read the second book. I only wish the book was a little more surprising in its reveals and would have focused a little more on the growth of the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This book was really good the main character was relatable and the world was vibrant and imaginative. I didn't like the many different love interests that much because it's done so often in most books but I still really loved this book.

Was scrolling through the Facebook click-bait and saw this book advertised alongside Game of Thrones. The only similarities that they share are the fantasy genre, and nothing further. I’m relieved that I only paid .99 for it, because it was by far one of the most boring reads I have partaken. Plus, ALL the male characters lusting after you protagonist?? So Twilight it was painful. Keep trying my dear, you can only go up after this disaster.

Absolutely amazing book. I can't believe this is her first book as it reads like a very experienced author with lots of books under her belt. The world is fantastic and the characters are deeply developed. Love, love, love!

Wow. Wow! If you love the Air awakens series by Elise Kova, the ACOTAR series by SJM, magic, fantasy, adventure, and romance you will ENJOY this series as well. I am so glad I stumbled across these books by accident. I Binge read the series in days and was totally worth it. The characters and the world building is done great, and the story keeps you guessing and wanting more. Can’t wait for more books to come out!

I love this story! It's a great mix of characters. Very well written. The story line is well developed. I told my husband that it's a bit of a combination of Harry Potter and Game of Thrones . Easy to immerse yourself in this tale.

This novel is a powerful romance at heart, but it is more than that. The characters are interesting and multidimensional.
The world building is good and the plot , solid. A good first novel in what promises to be an exciting new series!

Extremely well written. Sophisticated. Intriguing. Fantastic blend of magic, combat, and romance. I adore the heroine, hero, and other main characters. Heartrending backstories. Sarah Maas fans will LOVE this book. Can't wait to read book 2!

Rielle may have magic but not good sense. She is always getting badly hurt. Being able to heal herself is ok but even that causes terrible pain also. All in all I enjoyed the book. On to the next.

Really enjoyed this. Intriguing challenges overlaying the main plot line & excellent world building. The characters make you so invested in them you’ll want to smack them with their own book at times. Can’t wait to read the next one.

I couldn’t get into this book at all. The characters and beginning of a plot just didn’t hold my interest. Given its length, I decided to quit while I was ahead. Glad I got it on Unlimited rather than paying for it.

It took a little while to get into it because there is no background on the characters until about 4th chapter so a lot of the words are confusing. Once you start to understand the characters it is better. Not sure that I would read a second one.

Ok, so it’s a high rating for a dnf. The pacing was too slow for me at this time. I did like the characters and the world building. But where I normally read 2-3 books per week, the was taking me 2-3 weeks. It could be just me, so I upped the rating.

The author compares her novel to the highly regarded series of The Black Jewels, ACOTR, and Game of Thrones. Those are some bold claims, and this book is no where in that league. If you write quality the readers will place you along great authors. If you write mediocre and try to tell everyone you are great you might confuse a few into purchasing your book, but you will never land among the stars.

Arrogance is unattractive, especially when unwarranted.
