This seems like mostly a transition book in the series. Jane is wrapping up some old issues while starting to face the stories we have been building up to. Vampire politics as usua. Jane's shifter magic is developing and I will be interested to see how far they go with it. Its not the strongest book in the series, I could easily put it down and come back to it, but I wouldn't skip it because you'll probably be lost next book.

I am so hooked on Faith's Jane Yellowrock series! Each book is better than the last. I especially love the characters and how Jane interacts with her love interest George (AKA Bruiser). I liked that in this book Bruiser is in the entire book working with Jane. I also like that she finally gets to confront her ex Ricky Bo and let him know in no uncertain terms she is with George. Love the romance, the story and the characters.

Vampire politics suck, pun intended. Jane has enough problems just being herself, she doesn't need a vampire revolution on top of it. A magical storm boxes nothing but evil and eurovamp trash, all intent on taking over New Orleans. Jane and Beast won't let that happen especially now that she has love and friends in her life. What's a girl to do? Violence, paranormal, plots, and betrayal , this book has it all. Go Jane!

Thank God that I read comics and high fantasy. This one did my head in, trying to keep up with the twists and turns. There were so many that you may want to take notes. And even then, you'll still feel like you're missing something. And what was really up with that damn breloque? It's a great read but you better have all your attention focused on it or you'll catch yourself having to backtrack.

This was an awesome, action packed book leaving the reader at times breathless. Jane again is evolving into something more, a power in her own rite. Rick hopefully will fall for nell and be ever present in another story line. He should not always come out the loser. Thank you faith hunter for another awesome addition. Do we have to wait years for it? Please tell me no

This series just keeps getting better. I do suggest you read them in order. Love all the characters, Bruiser, Eli, Alex, and Edmund and dare I say, Leo. The character development has been great. The relationship between Jane and Bruiser is so sweet and believable....I love it. But pplleeaassee no more Rick. This was full of action and twists and turns. Love Faith Hunter and can’t wait for the next one due out in May.

Cold Reign is packed with action, betrayal, new abilities, friendship, and love as the listener is transported through the New Orleans world of Faith Hunter’s imagination. I didn’t want the story to stop! The characters are likable and believable and the storyline kept my wayward attention on track. The narrator did a good job with providing unique voices for each character and speed of reading.

I LOVED this book. The EVs finally showed up. There were scenes with Bruiser, Ricky-bo, and Eli that I feel like I've waited on forever. There were a couple of smackdowns finally delivered. Overall, I think it was one of the best in the series. Faith Hunter has managed to keep the series interesting and growing in a way that I'll continue reading for a while.

After the last book in this series being a little slow, Cold Reign was an amazing wild ride! Finally the character Eli is developed more. Edmund is becoming more three dimensional. The story is compelling. Even if some of the events revolve around details touched on several books past, they were presented in a way that refreshed the memory without weighing down the flow of the story. This might be my favorite book in the series.

Like all of the other Jane Yellowrock books, this one is action packed and un-put-downable. The plot takes a number of twists and turns that make it so read worthy. Also the bonus of good relationships for Jane. Anyone who likes paranormal action, suspense and a little romance thrown in will love this whole series. Jane Yellowrock, Mercy Thompson, Kate Daniels, etc are all great female characters. If you like one you will probably like them all.

Simply amazing and we'll written Jane Yellowrock novel. I couldn't put down until I'd finished the last line. Faith Hunter captivated my interest from the first book. She is an amazing story teller with truly fascinating characters and extraordinary story lines. Excitement can be found on every page.

This story takes place over a couple of days while the European camps try to take over New Orleans. Jane and her team are tested by keeping g Leo safe and figuring who are the spies. Their plans have been in place for centuries with the Europeans wanting possession of America.
As always, these books are well written and the action is nonstop. My biggest complaint is waiting for the next installment.

Getting to know both halves of Jane Yellowrock can be a little jarring at first, but keep at it because each book is truly better than the last & this one really is a true delight for anyone who likes hardcore biker vamp killers who decide it's more beneficial to work for a few of them while getting to stake others. The development of Jane's extended 'family' has become a joy to watch as even she seems surprised by it's growing size. This lady knows how to roll with the punches & come up dancing!

These books just get better and better. This was probably my favorite so far. If you are a fan of the series, this won't disappoint. I love that each book gets us deeper into Jane's background, gives more insight into Beast, and deepens Jsne's relationships with her ever-growing "family" and circle.
If you've not read the first nine books, go read them in order. Now! Hands down my favorite series.

Faith Hunter never has written a book that was boring. Even if some parts drag at times, they are always important, as this book proves. You definitely have to be familiar with the Jane Yellowrock books, novels and short stories, and have read them all for this book to make all sense. But who would really want to miss any of the stories in this series anyhow? Another wonderful work down and I'm anxiously waiting for the next one.

Skin Walker Jane Yellowrock and her second soul Beast mesmerize readers through another book in the series. I have read and reread these books three times and loved each book with each reading. I laugh at Beast's thoughts... hunting cow from Edmund car... and loved the characters in the books. Just fantastic storytelling from Faith Hunter.

Once again Faith Hunter comes through with another great book in the Jane Yellowrock series! It takes longer than I like for each book to come out, but I would rather that than be disappointed in the story.
I love all the characters in this book! Ms. Hunter delivers plenty of action, mystery, and kick-ass attitude in each of her books!!!

Jane Yellowrock has been my favorite character since the first book in the series. Seriously, who wouldn't want to be able to turn into a cougar?? She's tough and smart, a perfect heroine in my book. Not once has she been dependent on someone else to do her battles. Cold Reign was an excellent addition to the series. As usuaI, Jane rocks. Of course, I am still harboring a secret hope that Jane and Leo will some day get together. :)

I really like the Jane Yellowrock books and this was a really great addition to the series. It added some depth of understanding to the story that I either missed before or wasn't made clear before as well as moving the series forward. I'm looking forward to the next one. Meanwhile, I've decided now is a good time to reread them all.

I first read Faith Hunter's Rogue Mage series and enjoyed her style of writing. When I found Skinwalker, I read even though I wasn't interested in vampire stories at the time. I found that I still really enjoyed her style of writing and found myself waiting impatiently for each subsequent book in the series. This last book has been better than the previous books in the series full of twists, turns and unexpected events. I can't wait until her next book comes out, May is such a long way away.

The Jane Yellowrock series is one of the most satisfying reads I have come across in the Urban Fantasy genre. Faith Hunter has created a main character with depth who grows with each installment.
The Jane Yellowrock series is one of the few storylines in this genre which doesn't rely so heavily on sexual scenes and content to "fill in" or "pad" pages. (She is not the only one of course - Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison, Kevin Hearne, and Jim Butcher are a few others I've read who tell a good story with good characters).
I want more background on Eli Younger and Bruiser and Edward.
I look forward to next installment.

Jane Yellowrock has become one of my favorite characters. She has grown as a person throughout the series and the cast of characters around her have been well developed as well. The stories are always entertaining if you don't mind violence, blood, and gore.

I thought I was getting tired of Jane Yellowrock. I thought 's Hunter couldn't continue holding my interest. I WAS WRONG!! (the caps are for my wife, who says I never admit I'm wrong). I loved this book and find myself wanting more. I recommend Faith Hunter to anyone who wants a good read.

I've read every Jane Yellowrock novel in the series. I reread all of them whenever a new one comes out! Needless to say I'm a big fan. Unlike most extended series, this one improves with each new novel. Keep up the good work, Faith, you're a terrific writer.

I thoroughly enjoy this character. I have read the entire series again. The character development and the world building are unequaled. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good story. Each book is complete, but builds on the preceding books for characters. I would give it more than 5 stars if allowed..

Faith Hunter and about 5 others are the most entertaining fantasy writers on earth. I have noticed some reviewers are now politically "correct" which isn't correct at all. I will read Faith Hunter novels and enjoy them for as long as she writes.

Another incredible installment in the Jane Yellowrock series. Just when I think the series can't get any better Faith Hunter proves me wrong. I have never been disappointed in any of her offerings and this book is no different. There are plenty of twists and surprises to keep anyone satisfied and guessing. I can't wait for the next release.

I thought I would be getting more of the same ... I did! However, it is just the same exciting well written good stuff. With a story line that leaves me falling asleep with my kindle in my hand ( sometimes hitting me in the face when i drop it) and the need for more! Well done!! I cant wait for the next book in Janes adventure!

I love this series and Cold Reign doesn't disappoint! Jane continues her urban fantasy adventures and adding to her family. She's missed having family and has thought of herself as a loner, but that has changed! Can't wait for the next book!

Possibly the best one yet! The past can come back to haunt anyone and it sure does in this book. What an incredible book!!! The only thing I don't like is that it ended and there's not another one in the series for me to read right now.

This is my favorite urban fantasy series and this was the best book, so far. I love the direction Jane is moving in as a character. She's clearly not human yet she's becoming so admirable. She and Bruiser are very real together. I couldn't put this book down. Can't wait for the next one.

Faith Hunter never disappoints and neither does Jane Yellowrock and Company. Love these books. She can't write them fast enough for me. The cast of characters just keeps growing as does my fascination with our favorite shapeshifter and her job as Leo's Enforcer. Love, love, love these books.

I read a lot of fantasy, urban and otherwise, ant the are a lot of good authors out there. Like all the best, Ms. Hunter's characters learn and change from experience, Somehow she keeps this series fresh. While many other fine authors have ended their series, alas for the end of CE Murphy'a Urban Shaman or Chloe Neil 's Chicago vampire series; and apparently Butcher's Dresden, this series keeps going strong.
I recommend this author to all lovers of urban fantasy and good writing. Warning, she will draw you into her world,
