Randomly started this series and its fantastic. I'm not even a fan of litRPG, I hate most of it. This series manages to break through a lot of the silliness of the genre, imo and produce something unique

My husband read this book, and he HATES reading, and he absolutely LOVED it. He did say there were some spelling and grammar errors (for him to notice they must be obvious) but once you get past that it's a great read.

The story continues with Jason learning more. The expanse of Alfred. The plot thickens.
I thoroughly enjoyed the second book of this series. And look forward to where Jason's adventures take us next.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it important to notate a series that is such that it will stay with the reader for years to come. Fantastic world building and solid character development. Cannot wait for book three!

Amazing story here, I absolutely love it! This neatly picks up the story from the first book and just spirals to an entirely different level. I was so excited when I got my copy and I've read it maybe three times already and every time the book is still great, looking forward to the finale!

Precipice continues the out-of-world storylines to rational and alarming developments. Jason continues his journey along the path of being a villainous necromantic warlord, but he learns that to rule, he must have friends and allies to rule alongside him. Conspiracies and plots abound in the real and virtual worlds, and it comes together in what is most likely going to be the top LitRPG book of 2017.

Personally, I enjoy the story and hope to get around to reading the side quest one soon. The main reason I wanted to write this was to suggest you add a number to the side quests you plan to write. 2.5 for the one currently out as an example so that it is easier to see the series' in its chronological order if that makes sense.

Travis is an amazing writer: very in depth storyline, with amazing character development and has very few grammatical errors. Suffice to say, I am very happy to have found this series and its' author Travis Bagwell.
Thank you for the fantastic material and I hope to continue the journey soon; please finish

Travis, I hate you........ Your story is awesome. But now I'm stuck waiting for the third installment. Please hurry.... No don't hurry, take your time and continue to write one of the best (if not the best) stories I've read in years.

Look, I still appreciate and enjoyed this second book in the series. It was interesting understanding Alex's psychic trauma partially explaining his psychotic behavior. Reflexively, I think the guy should be locked up and the key thrown away. I think in this case it's more than maternal deprivation and the strong possibility of a chromosome gone haywire:( Jason is becoming the man of the horror hour(forgive the pun). My heart was beating a couple times when his game was almost up by a pistol wheeling fourteen year old girl. Also, I did like the philosophical discussion between Alfred and Jason regarding the amount of control one really does have in their lives considering intelligence, socioeconomic status, race , birth, parents, culture....and share luck. The author did keep me involved in the various scenes of the game and outside the game. Claire and Robert are something else. The entanglements of Alex's father ,George, although concerned about his son, doesn't come across as kind, loving father.
Ok, so what's my major complaint with this second book? I dislike cliffhangers . The first book left me with a sense of an end
but preparation for future challenges. Personally, I don't think there was a need to leave a loose end to persuade the reader to pursue this adventure in the second book. I wouldn't be reading this if the author did not already perk my interest. Secondly, if the author is going to leave me on a cliff than why isn't the third book( or the book in between the third) available now? Yes, I will continue this series despite my complaint. Hey, I suppose some people like a cliffhanger;)

I really enjoyed the book. Really like the way the games go rewarding tactics over power, the last still important but showing that there is always other methods to do things, not just epic equipment or over leveled Mc. And of course I like it because necromancers rules.

Arghhh! I'm breaking my own rule. Normally when a book ends with a huge cliff hanger, I refuse to buy the next one on principle. I hate that you have to buy the next book to find out what happened and knocked off two stars because of that. It seems like the author cheated me. The first book in this series wasn't too bad. It ended after a battle and, although you knew there would be more to the story, it didn't leave you hanging. This book left the reader hanging big time. I think series books should pretty much stand on their own (think The Dresden Files, or the Iron Druid series). That said, these are very engaging books. Great stories that really draw you in. So, I will probably buy the next one. But that will be the last chance. If it ends like this one did, I won't buy more.

This series continues to be very well put together. Bagwell grows as a writer between the first and second novels and improves a lot at delving deeper into the characters. This installment was really great and left me hungry for more.

Such a great read I loved everything about it..... almost everything could of lived on with out Rex dying (even though he went out like a boss!) All hail the twilight throne!

While Bagwell's writing may not as polished as many established authors, what he has done with these novels in such a short time is pretty astonishing.
The world building is impressive (coming from the LitRPG heritage no surprise there), and the characters feel 'real' (even the ones that aren't 'real' in the narrative).
