The Winter King (Weathermages of Mystral Book 1)

I've been starving for a decently written fantasy novel with well written, graphic sex scenes (because let's be honest that's why we read the erotica genre). At first I thought the writing was over embellished but within a chapter I found my hunger sated. I'm excited for the next book in the series - Thank you Ali for the recommendation!

Storm is a woman of strength, honor, and a little to brave for the comfort of the winter Craig's king. I love a good story that makes me happy and bring a tear to my eyes. This is a book with the magic of love. There is betrayal and honest truth to be revived.

Loved the book had characters that you could really love and those that you just wanted to push out of a 10 story high castle window. It was a good love story with a nice balance of action and adventure including a sword wielding queen

I really liked this book. It had lots of adventure, really great love scenes but still kept the epic adventure vibe. It's nice to find a book that has everything I like to find in a book. I can't wait for the next one.

I loved this book. I fell for the main characters straight away. It was a beautiful journey of lust, magic, heart pounding action and the struggle to embrace true love when all the odds are stacked against you. Can't wait to read this author's new release coming this summer!

My initial impression was to expect the cliche fantasy/romance story that these books tend to have. And although "The Winter King" is just that, it was still highly enjoyable! Surprisingly so! The lure of a fantastic realm where magic and true love can coexist despite all obstacles proved too great to ignore. I found myself reading late into the night, losing myself in this fairytale of weathergifts, espionage, eroticism, legends, and the miracles of finding true love. I was pleasantly surprised by Wilson's tale!

But I have to say I enjoyed the Tairen Soul series better. Both the storyline and the characters seemed to come more to life for me in that series. That said the Winter King was good reading and I did enjoy it.

Fantastic fantasy romance. Wynter is completely King Thranduil in the Hobbit movies - the description of his looks (long silver white hair) and personality (cold and severe, but fabulous, powerful, and full of glamorous style)!

Wilson never fails to make me happy. I picked this book right on the heels of the Tairen Soul series. There is nothing I would change to any of her books. NOTHING. Full of action, hot romance, and drama, this book won't disappoint you.

A must read, romantic and intriguing plot.This was awesome. I have read all of her books and enjoyed them so much! I can't wait for her to write the next new book. She is a wonderful story weaver and leaves you breathless with wanting more. Please write your next one quickly.

This story had all of the feels. Wonderfully developed characters, a fabulous love story and a strong H and h. C L Wilson always has fabulous world building. She did not disappoint. This is a must read!!!

Unputdownable fantasy romance! The chemistry between protagonists is definitely there and the fantasy elements fresh and engaging. A classic, but masterfully written arranged married story in a fascinating universe. High quality both as fantasy and as romance!

i really enjoyed the story the whole world was set up so amazingly with so much detail and Storm wasn't a flat girly heroine at all. the one problem was i felt that the story was too short when the world that the author had created was so big. hopefully the sequels will explore more

I was blown away by this story. The beautiful world and its accompanying mythology and magic combined with heaps of very believable romance and suspense - I could barely breathe while reading it most of the time. The writing is really thoughtful and bright, realistic/complex/honorable characters with great dialogue - never cloying. I couldn't believe all the plot twists and turns either, I didn't see any of them coming. I related a lot to the characters...C.L. Wilson never took things too far, nothing but pleasant surprises. In short, I LOVED THIS BOOK.
