While I'm still reading this book currently, I cannot put it down! I love the characters and think that Margo did a great job in writing about a small town, enjoyable characters and an interesting (although tragic) story. I can't imagine the thought process, planning and detail necessary to write a book so bravo to anyone who can pull this off as well as Margo has! Highly recommend this book!

This is a rollickingly good story. There are myriad "life after death" stories out there and only some have manage to crack the fine line between maudlin and brisk. This one is energetic :)

Callie Taylor - although we don't really get to know her - is a bright, pert character who discovers herself dead in Alabama. We find out that she has been killed by a predator with a knife, but it is not until almost the end that the true extent of her injuries become apparent.

The secondary characters round out the story, in my opinion. Great fun and a little romance fill out the plot in a very satisfying way.

I do not like to give spoilers and do not believe that revealing the whole plot is helpful. Suffice to say that this one is a sprightly read.

I actually finished this book last Sunday on my flight home. I have hardly read since BUT this story has stuck with me and that is a mark of a powerful book to me. It is not my usual genre, but it pulled me in from the beginning and I cared about the characters. Next I want the mystery of Callie's murder to be solved. I thank my online book club for recommending this book.

Much better than I expected (yes, I totally judged a book by its cover). I liked all of the main characters, and the plot was fairly well done, although the connections did seem a bit thin and too convenient at time. I'm not sure whether or not I'll read any other books in the series, but this book definitely had a lot of potential and I'm sure the author will improve as the series goes forward. One aspect that was particularly interesting to me was the fact that I often almost forgot that Callie was a ghost. Since that was the only supernatural aspect of the story, I'm not sure I would classify the book as a paranormal mystery, which is what I had expected it to be.
