Beautiful story, Blake does not spoon feed you bulleted reference points in how to succeed and make money; instead, he provides real life examples and stories from his own experience and others accounts, which not only inspires you but convinces you that you have the ability to make a difference in the world.

I had the priviledge to read Blake's amazing business adventure, sometimes emotions and desires are enough to show some initiave but when you know this initiative is changing someone's life for good there no greater boost to keep on going. Great book and thanks for inspiring my life!

So many times, people have great ideas, but won't go through the hard work to make it happen. Blake Mycoskie gives hope and inspiration to folks that really want to make a difference in the world and put their good ideas into action. Really enjoying the book and have especially enjoyed discussing it with my kids. The world needs more "Blakes."

Many useful lessons learned and definite read for any aspiring entrepreneur...it has also been a very easy and fast read...still not sold on the One-for-One model giving away anything distorts and can destroy local markets, especially in emerging markets and developing countries.

I read the book with growing fascination. This is the kind of new books that I hope will grow in the ebook era. Short books that goes in depth in a subject but doesnt become too lenghty and repetitive. And of course Ill buy a new pair of shoes now;).

Mycoskie's story is inspirational and his message can be applied to the smallest start-up idea to today's largest existing corporations. Tom's Shoes is living proof that love and generosity increase the chance of business success and living a life that matters.

The importance of what Blake is offering is the inspiration of small simple ideas. From these small and humble beginnings of focussing on giving, we can all change the world. He is reshaping culture and empowering Entrepreneurial minded people.

Blake's story is such an inspiration. I chanced upon this book by accident, when I was feeling down and experiencing business blues for my new startup. I was feeling disheartened so I wandered into to the local Boulder bookstore, Bookends, looking for some pointers. I went to the self-help section and as I was stooping down perusing the aisle, I noticed "Start Something That Matters" staring right back at me. I picked it up, started reading it and couldn't put it down! I ended up having to buy the book and one of the best things I could do for my business. Today, I still have my business and I've enjoyed the luxury of working from home, serving great clients and am working my way towards financial freedom. I've also built some amazing sites for some clients that improves the lives of others and this makes all the difference in the world. This book was one of my inspirations! Thanks Blake!

I read this book for my management class and absolutely loved it. As a senior in college this book really inspired me to follow my passions as well as do something that matters to me, however big or small. Great read!
