Erich has some interesting ideas about earthly contacts by being from other -planets. If we are seeking to find other contacts, why aren't we contacted by other beings. I love the idea of the earth being colonized by beings from other planets- fits into the bible aand other historical things we know- read and think about our earths past and future.

A very thought provoking read for the believers and also an enlightening read for the nonbelievers. I highly recommend this book for those who truly believe that "knowledge is an ongoing process...never to be attained, but always within our grasp". - Craig K. Brown

I searched high and low to find a reasonable price for a first edition American printing hardback book with sleeve and I got it with this purchase. I am so happy with my book and to add this amazing find to my collection. Thank you!

I think Erich Von Daniken does a good job explaining extraterrestrial intervention. I haven't heard any better theories out there, I find that his work is spot on. I highly recommend this book, whether you believe it or not its still an interesting read.

As a writer myself, I appreciate the painstaking research done by all those connected with the Ancient Aliens theory. The problem is that the conclusion for them is always "aliens." Like his cohorts, Von Daniken completely ignores the rule of "Akheim's Razor" which says that the easiest and most direct line of thought is most likely the truth. I also feel that a lot of what he says is simply re-labeling. He calls an angel an "alien," and is right, from a certain point of view. An angel, not being a local native, is certainly "alien," but not in the sense that Daniken means. From the begining others have been sent, messangers, Watchers and angels--all "alien" to this soil but certainly not "little green men." The battle of good vs evil goes on, and within that statement can be found many possible explanations. Again, I appreciate the short-cut to my own research.

Chariots of the Gods is a fascinating read, whether you agree with Daniken's hypothesis or not. He simply is asking questions no one has asked before, questioning long held beliefs by actually examining them.
This book is not for anyone who wishes to avoid engagement in thought and analysis of history and preconceived ideas. Danikens belief that alien life forms visited earth during the earliest stages of human developement is simply his attempts to answer the "how" & "why" that many scholars have either ignored or hidden behind the veil of religion.
I personally believe that Daniken's view is valid in forcing a more honest discussion of the destructive history of organized religion. He is also pushing for a re-examination of established assumptions using modernized techniques and tools, which is a common scientific practice.
Simply put Chariots of the Gods is highly engaging, fascinating and worth reading. If you are searching for answers, avoid this book. If you are comfortable with asking questions and challenging assumptions, pick this up you will not be disappointed.

Chariots of the Gods was recommended by an old friend as we have similar interests. For me personally the book brought together many theory's and events that I have read or heard about in the past. The subject of extraterrestrials has fascinated me for years and this book has Clarified and I intensified that interest.

Bought this after watching Ancient Aliens. The general idea is very interesting and it encouraged me to look at things from a different perspective. The examples in the book are a little outdated though and may need to be updated. The examples from the TV series are more updated and are more interesting.
Might want to read his other newer books but this is a good introduction to his hypothesis.

Very interesting! This book will make you question everything you think you know about religion. I would recommend this book, but if you try to tell friends and family about it they might think you have lost your marbles.
