Clearly and concisely presented tips on how to effectively make the most of your summer while homeschooling. Careful attention is given to balancing your time so that learning is occuring but peace is also maintained. I found this to be a very nice resource.

This was a quick read and packed full of information with helpful tips. Sometimes we get caught up into getting all that work completed that we forget to rest and what is really important. Thanks for the reminder.

Lee's words of wisdom have helped me gain direction for this summer, so that we can make the most of our time before my son's senior year. Great advice and ideas for students of all ages, learning styles, and interests.

While my oldest will enter high school this coming fall and yes, all of the information for the CLEP testing was very informative, I think I was expecting a bit more information for across the range of ages. There is an exceptional book list with annotations, which I did enjoy too. Thank you for writing such a piece and for taking the time to think through how valuable the CLEP testing be to help high schoolers get a real jump on their college education.

Some really helpful and practical advice for homeschool parents of middle school, high school/college bound kids. Includes a suggested reading list for college bound students, activities for summertime learning and a reminder to take a break and relax for a time! I really love the idea of using the summer to read the kids upcoming literature for the following school year. Great idea.

Lee recommends choosing peace at the end of this book and that is what I plan on doing this summer. Before reading this I had my mind set on workbooks I was going to go through so my children could redo their work. I had languages I wanted to learn and books I wanted to do for review. This brought about a new mindset, not only for myself but one that will impactmy children as well. Great, easy read.

As usual, Lee's transparent, fluff-free approach to learning--and learning to relax--came through. This book covers everything from how to tell if you're done with a subject for the academic year, to thinking ahead to SAT planning, to combining a college tour with your summer holiday. She also includes a reading list most colleges would alike to see in a student portfolio. But, there's also a reminder to include margin into your schedule, allow for creativity, and to enjoy this season of family life. Overall, good advice grounded in reality!

There are many things to like about this little booklet: the reminder that we all need a break sometimes, guidelines on how to know you're done with a particular curriculum (so you can stop!), and the various ideas about what can be done during the summer. There's even a lengthy reading list, by category, complete with short descriptions of each. So helpful! Lee has a very gentle style, so even though she includes a lot of info and suggestions, she doesn't leave me feeling pressured or like I'm not measuring up. It's a quick read - great before the summer, or anytime!

Delight directed learning has been part of my homeschool experience since I first joined Lee's website group. Your kids are doing so much more that should be a part of their high school record and this will help you see those things and document them. (You might not want to tell the kids though, it spoils their fun!)
Her books are short, have great, practical, relevant advice and I can't recommend any other resource that will get you through the high school homeschool years and feel like you know what you are doing.
