This series just keeps getting better and better! I love the plot and the way that it is developing. And as much as I like this book series, I wouldn't let my kids read them. I think the subject matter is too dark for them.

As I continue to read through the Last Apprentice series, I get more and more excited for the coming books. This has certainly been a favorite of all the books. I would definitely recommend this to the horror/mystery lover in the family!!! Thank you Joseph Delaney!!

Love, Love this series. Even though it is a large book it is mostly due to the large font, nothing compared to the Harry Potter Series. But the book is awesome and can't wait to find out more about Tom and Alice.

The greatest strength Delaney possesses is his ability to make you care for these characters. Every time I read one of his books, I am invested in the outcome of Tom, Alice, and the Spook. Great read!!!

Very nice series of books. Not really happy with the lack of climactic ending but I still enjoyed the book. I think the author could have take the same course to a new story without having to make the Alice turn of events so extreme. 12 books one way and suddenly...not going to spoil it. Just very disappointed in the sudden turn of events. I will be keeping an eye out for a spin off series.

Joseph Delaney didn't disappoint in the final book in the The Last Apprentice (Spook's Apprentice) series. The book neatly ties up the loose ends that have been building over the last few books including the side stories of the Grimalkin and Alice books.
If you are new to the series - start at the beginning.
The best news, however, is that Delaney has announced a new trilogy starting in the Fall.

Delaney ties this series up wonderfully, and leaves us wanting more! The entire series was so beautifully written and I found no irritating typos or grammatical errors to make a glitch in my reading.
Delaney satisfies our disappointment by tying in "Slither", letting us know the saga of Tom Ward will continue on with some old, and new, exciting characters to keep our "Apprentice" addiction going. I love this series so much, I own all of the books--mostly Kindle books--and plan to read them over again this Summer in anticipation of the new series to begin in September 2014. I already ordered the first book in the Chipendon Spook series. I can hardly wait!!!

I read some of the other reviews and I just had to come back to defend the series and author. Just to put this out there, the fact that there are many people disappointed about the Alice/Tom relationship, the fact that the writer stirred up such emotion, tells me that this is a good book!! It is not over and Tom and Alice are not over. I would have hated to have a nice "pat" story where Tom and Alice got together and lived "happily ever after". Come on!!! This is not real life, and...wait a minute!?! Does real life happen that way? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! All those negative reviews about the book not ending the way they expected does not make the book bad. If you want to read a fairy tale ending, go read Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I purchased the whole series through the store and have read all 13 books at least twice. There were 2 non-series books I also purchased. The only Con is that this was the last book of the series. I hope Joseph Delaney pursues the Invasion of the Kobalos, and continues the series.
