I dislike politics, but love my country and can appreciate this historic election. This short book was fascinating and educational. A must read for all Americans. Put aside your feelings and listen. Very interesting.

Jon Ronson is one my favorite writers. I enjoy how deeply he will go for a story, and how much access he gets to very powerful and influential people. After reading this account of how much influence Alex Jones and Roger Stone have to the GOP nominee, I'm even more scared of what a Trump presidency would do to this country.

Well when you read this book keep in mind that it's just an opinion written before the election. That being said I feel that the author is anti American and yes, Trump is now the president so he needs to suck it up and be American and support our leaders not bash them. To me that's about as unpatriotic as you can be.

While fans of infowars will probably skewer this, its a great look at how we got here. We are all always right and they're always wrong in our us and them society. Polarization has given us a caricature of a Republican for president.

Everything I had feared is actually true. The Trump crazies really are fruitloops. High schools must be doing a lousy job if this is what their graduates are thinking when buying the nutty Trump line.

It is hard to tell if this is an attempt at white washing Alex Jones, or it just misses on all points. The book is really about his friend and one time collaborator, Alex Jones. Not too much on Trump, but some on Roger Stone, and his previous work. Other than a few stories, not much in here that can not be found with some careful research yourself.

An interesting story, although a generous portion was a repeat from a prior book. I do want to follow up on some of the people he mentioned anyway. Jon Ronson hangs out with some really weird characters!

Supposedly this is a look behind the curtain of Alex Jones, alt-right conspiracy theorist. In reality it's thinly researched, and has very little information that can't be found by reading any newspaper or magazine that covers politics.
We already know that Alex Jones loves conspiracies, seems to have DJT's ear, says horrible things that can't be proved, but his listeners believe him. We know that Paul Manafort and Roger Stone made millions working for dictators.
There is nothing new here.
The author discounts the rise of racism and decides that it's still a fringe of the GOP and not enough to get Trump elected.

Love Robson's writing and was excited to see what he would do with a smaller format. I wasn't disappointed. Once again, he manages to paint a balanced picture without compromising his tone or perspective.

I hadn't read much about Alex Jones or Roger Stone, and of course now I need a shower. Very illuminating and Ronson makes great use of his "in" with Alex Jones, which I suspect very few normal people have.

"The alt-right’s small gains in popularity will not be enough to win Trump the election." Direct quote from the book. This is probably the most accurate statement. It was more than the "alt-right" that won the election.

Excellent writing and I enjoyed the insight and behind the scenes look on Alex Jones. However, the author thinks too highly of himself claiming he is the reason for Jones' popularity. Overall the book was more of the same in the end. Another Trump hit piece to add to the pile of 1,000's written this year. Nice try, but I'll still be voting Trump. MAGA.

The author poses people in caricature through the lens of his pen. I and others have viewed this same scene in a different, and I believe, more honest way. Just because I don't agree with the author's political bias doesn't make me a racist. I hate racism.

not worth the effort of reading. All he did was talk to two people : alex (some alt right guy) and scott (some dude with a nixon tatoo). if you watched the media during the election, you already knows what happens at the rallies. he just gives a first person view point of the rallies.. thats all.

This short book lacked cohesiveness, and failed to build its case-- about Trump or much of anything else. The author nerds to focus on a premise and build a case for it. This book was like reading someone's sporadically kept journal.

Is the only statement this essay makes. It uses vulgar and profane language at times and uses imagery of human rights abuses in the Philippines to shock the reader. I am glad that the 2016 election has Americans talking about politics and voting. I just wish there was a candidate worth voting for.

This "writer" obviously doesn't understand who and or what the alt-right is. Hint - ALEX JONES IS NOT ALT RIGHT. If you'd like to know about the real Alt Right not to be confused with the neo-nazi Alt-white please do yourself and favor, google Vox Day and read his blog Vox Populi

Nothing much to know in here, a glimpse into few of Trump's campaign folks distorting facts to fiction and and the author's feeble attempts to make sense of it. You can as well skip it entirely, move on and find more interesting to read.

It's not just that this is no more than a thin leftist hit piece (and it is no more than that), it's that Ronson is a wonderful thinker, has a deeply inquisitive mind and is one of the best most entertaining investigative writers out there. But this comes across as a 15,000 word tweet written angrily after he just heard Trump is leading in the polls. Ronson's political bias is unchecked and he does little to explore the bizzarro Trumpian phenomenon. Love him or hate him, Trump's accent is a head scratcher and any ounce of journalistic objectivity tells us that it's due to more than delusion, racists white guys yelling racial epithets at rallies. I hope someday some documentarian works to dissect all this. But apparently Ronson has no interest. I expected this bias but I also expected more. Not worth $1.99. Glad I got it free via Prime.

Read this only if you want a very slanted leftist version of the Pro Trump movement. If you are looking for some meat, some truth, there is nothing here except a continual harping about Alex Jones. It is not even worth the read.

Don't bother. I got this for free on Kindle and paid too much. This is a guy who thinks Obama was the best president ever and Hillary never aided and abetted her rapist husband or put a foot wrong in any way. He deliberately ignores the massive violence paid for by Hillary people (Project Veritas even has them on film admitting to it) and instead plays up the incident where a septuagenarian clocks a leftwing thug agitator who had been wearing a KKK hood and giving Trump supporters the finger as proof of how Trump incited violence.

He recounts Alex Jones and Roger Stone discussing whether Huma's mother was a victim of traditional genital mutilation as if Muslim customs like that don't happen and poo-poos the notion that Huma is a Muslim Brotherhood plant even though her father and mother founded the magazine and Huma edited it for 12 years while working for Hillary.

Ronson is just trying to make a buck off Trump but he has no clue what the groundswell for Trump and America is all about. He wants his socialist elitism where he's smugly smarter than you are because his elite buddies believe it - to prevail.

What a stupid , unbelievable bunch of hogwash. I read this thing because I like to look at both sides before voting and do a lot of research it I have never come across such hateful, stupid writing before. In the belief for e everyone running for office cannot possibility control their followers, I will not hold hillary responsible for this diatribe from an idiot who obviously has too much time and not enough brains to write a civil discourse on the political future of our great nation.

Good though short bit about Trump; however, it was released pre-election, so the assertion in the book is that the author believes it's not too likely Trump will be elected, barring some things happening.
