I loved "Expecting Adam" and am always glad to hear more about Adam as he grows into maturity, but some of Martha Beck's books between EA and this one were a bit too smarmy for me. That said, I think she comes into her own in FYWWNW. Her has stretched her own spiritual muscles enough to be writing to mature seekers and to have a seasoned perspective on the challenges of this life's journey. I loved this book and recommended it to many people in my circle of friends and classes.

I love Matha Becks' snarkyness. I adore that the editor did not make her change that or edit out her personality. I love the research, information, books, links, and everything about this book. I am reading it a second time and have given it to everyone I love for their birthday this year!

Martha Beck has a unique way to describe powerful experiences and to convey vision. This particular book gave me a sense of working with energy (my own and that of spaces I move in). It proposes a very complete guide to experience "spiritual intelligence" (or whatever you call this way humans use to connect to other humans and to the world).

Suffered through the morbid fascination of her thoughts on getting killed by a rhino, but the description of the lion killing a baby giraffe is what did it for me. Don't want that picture in my mind, don't think it's necessary to the subject. I normally like her books, but not this one.

This book resonated for me in so many instances. Not only in practical information but also with wonderful amazing stories of her own experiences as examples. Truly a walk to unveil our own inner nature. And see truly how we our part of this world of nature. Inspiring.

It is a practical book that has different exercises to help you get in a state of wordlessness. It is definitely for those that believe that the future path is wild and different and we need new skills to be successful.

Martha,
this most recent book made a big, huge and significant impression for and on me. Thank you for that and what you offer all searching for insight into this wild new world we all eventually find. Your book made me feel like I wasn't alone.

I found that as I worked- or allowed - the process of "wordlessness" and "oneness" to flood my being, my eyes would close with such relaxation. The "wordlessness" helps me to close off my worry machine chatter. I find that I can fluidly go into "oneness." I am starting the "imagination" section. I've highlighted section after section. At first, I returned to the guidance for wordlessness and oneness, but it's getting more natural noe.

this book was recommended to me by an incredible intuitive financial planner... he recognized me as a mendor, one who assists others in their wholeness, basically to remember they are awesome... Any way this book does just that ... gets you to recognize what may be dormant within you regarding belief systems that started in childhood.. not a new topic by any means. Martha has a way of delivering a message to the soul that beacons you to dance with it... we are our own best dance partners once we say YES to living life fully expressed in everything we do!

when you read this book! I felt pulled through the book as if guided by a master teacher, which the author is, and totally inspired to start finding my best path in life. She makes it sound so easy to create what you want in your life -- and I think it is, when we get out of the way!
Wonderfully inspiring! If everyone read this book, I'm sure the world would be a much better place to live in.

The storyline is great, but the print quality is poor, and inconsistant. I exchanged the first one thinking it just slipped through inspection, but was very disappointed when I saw the second book was just like the first. I was too embarrassed to return the second one.

not my kind of book, confusing and not keeping my interest to read past the first 2 chapters, not the kind of book I could not put down, every paragraph made me want to delete it from my kindle, which I ended up doing.

I started my reading tour of the Martha Beck Universe on this book...
I was so touched by her words, I found myself crying in the bath, (I have three small boys, the ONLY time I get to myself is in the bath !) - what she writes makes so much sense to me - that kind of itching feeling when you're not happy in your skin, but you're not sure what to do about it, and your life is OK so what's to complain about ?
She put into words all the uncertainty that I was feeling - the first comprehensive explanation of why I am so sick, so tired, always chasing my tail, propping up other people's lives while mine lurches from one crisis to the next.... Shaman Sickness....
*sigh* I always knew it and I've always tried to deny it, because lets face it, "Shaman and Soul Healer" looks bloody odd on your CV, and besides, where do you train ? Luckily I've managed a work-around - so I'm training as a hypnotherapist now, and I shall see where it leads me.
I've also followed up with some books on Shamanism - I'm English originally, so I've been reading "Elen of the Ways" and "Dance of Stones" as well as "Urban Shaman" which is Hawaiian Shamanism, but absolutely fascinating. I have to say these books sing to me. Maybe I'll go completely that way in the future; but just knowing this about myself - that I have a deep Spiritual Calling which cannot be denied and which will *make me sick if I don't pay attention to it* was worth the $7 I paid for this book :)
And yes, I am getting better. I'm taking less medication and getting more sleep :)

This book should come with a major 'woo woo' alert warning! It was written by Martha Beck so it still has all the profound wisdom, amazing anecdotes and witty observations you would come to expect BUT it also takes the reader on a journey they may not come back from. That is probably a good thing but I for one need a few days to digest this one. Wordlessness, Oneness, spoon bending. Its all a bit much for my delicate constitution.

Deeply spiritual without any artiface. She brings Oneness to light in new and refreshing ways.
