I thought The Courage of Sarah Noble by Alice Dalgliesh was a great book for children. I think it reminds you to always keep up your courage. In the book at least once every chapter it says, "Keep up your courage." Always keep up your courage even more when you are in the wilderness because there are a lot of wild animals. Sarah Noble meets Indians along the way. At first she is only with her dad and horse, Thomas. Then her dad goes home to get all of Sarah's brothers and sisters. Sarah stays with Tall John, an Indian that she met. She has to keep up her courage until her father returns. The Courage of Sarah Noble is a great book.

Our class read The courage of Sarah Noble. I liked this book because it was interesting and had details. It is a good book for children. I learned more about Colonial Times. I learned some interesting facts. I learned that some Indians didin't have plates or silverware. They made shoes and clothing out of deer skins. Not all Indians are savagas. I think most people that have read or in the future are going to read The Courage of Sara Noble have learned or going to learn about Colonial Times. This is a book that I would suggest to read. This is the type of book that you would be excited to read. The Courage of Sarah Noble is a wonderful, interesting, and exciting book.

Our class read The Courage of Sarah Noble. I liked this book because it gives me information about what happened in the past. I also liked it because it had great details. Another reason I liked it was because it has funny pictures. I learned some interesting facts about this book. I learned that Indians had to sell their land. I also learned that when the people wanted to go somewhere they had to walk there. Another fact that I learned is that Indians made shoes and clothes out of deer skin. The Courage of Sarah Noble is a great book.

The Courage of Sarah Noble is well written. Sarah is helpful, caring, reliable and, of course, courageous. Sarah's main quote, "Keep up your courage, Sarah Noble," is used throughout the book.

This book is also fairly stereotypical. The Native Americans look bad, making them look dumb. There is also unintentionally mean thinking about the Native Americans within the book. The book has a highly descriptive background.

Sarah is illustrated with hard work, making her look better than the Native Americans, making her look superior.

In the time the book was written, the government was not very sensitive to stereotypes, and did not know much about Native Americans. So I personally think you cannot blame the author.

A heartwarming (and true) story about 8-year old Sarah Noble who travels with her father from Massachusetts to New Milford, Connecticut where he is to build the first home in that area for their family. When the house is finished, John Noble must leave his daughter with an Indian family while he goes back to Mass. to get his wife and other children.
The storyline flows beautifully, and the writing is rich but won't overload the emerging chapter-reader. If your child is making the transition into chapter books and loves historical fiction, then this is a great book for you.
Even older readers will enjoy the simplicity and adventure of this beautiful story. Although my daughter has read many chapter books, this is still one of her favorites!
Enjoy.

Our class read The Courage Of Sarah Noble. I liked this bok because this book has good storyline. I also like this book because they met the indians and they became friends. The last thing l like about this book is that there is lots of parts that are scary, sad, and nice.

I learned some interesting facts. l learned that the indians helped the people build homes. l also learned that some indians are enemies to other indians. The final thing l learned is that they made clothes out of different skins like deer skins. The Courage Of Sarah Noble is a great book!

We have been listening to this on Audible as part of my son’s homeschooling curriculum. It was a suggested book to compliment our study of the European settlers. We haven’t finished it yet but so far we really enjoy it.

The story The Courage of Sarah Noble is mainly about Sarah and her father in the wilderness. They are trying to find a new place to build a home. I loved the book because it taught me to keep up my courage in a forest. My favorite part was the end because Sarah was hime and got to see her family that she had missed so much. My favorite character was Sarah Noble because she was so brave and kept up her courage like an adult. It gave me warm feelings and had a good heart. I would tell other children to read this book because it might teach them the same thing. (9)

Dear Readers,
The Courage of Sarah Noble is one of the best book I have read in my life. I liked the story because she had to keep up her courage when there were hard times. Also, I liked how Sarah traveled to New Milford and taught the Indian Children. I would recommend this book to other girls when they are having hard times so they could learn how to deal with them just like Sarah.

I liked this book because it was full of adventure. There were a lot of stereotypes in it, though. The author made it sound like the Native Americans are stupid, Native Americans are poor and not as well dressed as Sarah is, and it talks about Sarah as a much more beautiful person than the Native Americans.

The illustrations are not so good either. The illustrator made the Native Americans look like big fat babies and they were bare naked! The book was written with stereotypes because at that time people weren't aware that the things that were written about the "Indians" were not actually true. Alice Dagliesh wrote the book in 1954, so the book is not how it would be written today.

I recommend this book but since it was written a long time ago, people who read it should be on the lookout for stereotypes.

I liked Courage of Sarah Noble because I liked the characters and the things they do to help each other. At first I didn't like the way Sarah had to go out into the wilderness with her dad. She was only 8! But I liked the way Sarah kept up her courage while she stayed with the Indians. I also liked the Indians characters and how they were nice. They taught Sarah how to pick berries and play games. So if you read this book you'll see how good it is. Read this book or you'll regret it.

The Courage of Sarah Noble by Alice Dalgliesh

I like this book because it has Indians in it. I like when she got scared and asked her dad a bunch of questions about the house. I also like how her dad always says, "Keep up your courage, Sarah Noble. Keep up your courage."
The author must be a very well writer and this book got me hooked and I wouldn't stop reading it.

CoolKid 1: I liked the book because Sarah makes friends with the Indians and because she is willing to walk all the way from Massachusetts to New Mildford to see what her home is like, unlike Her brothers and sisters.I'd like it to be a little longer and more detailed.I'd recomend this book to ages 3-12. It's not one of my top 10 because it doesn't stick out in the end like like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. (age 10)

CoolKid2: I liked the book because Sarah made friends with the Indians and it's kind of hard to. I would recommend this book to a friend because it doesn't have a lot of violence. I do not like violence. (age 8)

This is a good story. It has two good adventures in it. One is that Sarah and her father go into the wilderness to build a new home. While Sarah's father is on an adventure to go back home to get the family, Sarah gets to have her own adventure. She stays with a nice Indian family. She has lots of fun with them, but she still misses her father. I was really happy when he came back with Sarah's family. All of those adventures made it a really good book. C

I liked this book because the little girl Sarah remines me of my self, because I act just like her. Also it's realistic fiction with a little bit of history. One thing I learned from this book is that you shouldn't judge peopleno matter who they are. The story remineds me of when I was 6 went on a sleep over and I didn't know the people so well, and I went over at 5 and stayed till 10 the next morning. But then I got use to them and they come were nice to me.

I recommend the book The Courage of Sarah Noble because it has adventure and it tells a lot about courage and how people help each other. This book is good because it is true and you learn how hard it is for you to live with a family that is different from yours. This book also has suspense. When I was half way through it I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Sarah and her family. I hope you love this book as much as I did.

The Courage of Sarah Noble is a fabulous book. It has won a Caldicot of best books. This book is about how a gril faces her fears and gets the courage to go into the wilderness. She goes with her father John Noble to the woods of Connecticut to find the perfect land for a new home. In the sotry there is a cloack that her mother gave to her. The cloak plays a very important part. It is what she uses to keep warm and think of the family back home.

I liked this book because it was interesting. Some of the words they used were different, like saying Mistress Robinson. I liked how Sarah taught the Indian children how to say some English words. I would recommend this book to a friend because there were some funny parts in it, like when they thought there was an Indian, but it was a skunk. The ending ws happy because Sarah got to see her mom and her sisters.

This story is engaging and informative. It sends a message of tolerance that is welcome in the classroom and at home. My child was very impressed that this was a true story. The one thing I didn't like about the book is that it seems to lack the necessary amount of suspense (Will she miss her dad? Will the Indians take care of her? and so on) in a narrative.

The book called The Courage of Sarah Noble is good because everyone helps other people. I also like that they meet an animal, and it is a SKUNK! Sarah is only eight years old, but she goes out into the wild and cooks for her father, John Noble.
Sarah meets ... and has to stay with them, because her father
has to go get the rest of the family. Sarah is really scared for
her father. I would be too!

When I finished reading Stuart Little, I was finding another book to read. There were no books until we came upon The Courage of Sarah Noble. And to me, it was very interesting. Sarah's one of my favorite characters in that book. I like the two Indians and everybody. I think the best part about that book is Sarah keeping up her courage. It's a very helpful book if you can't keep up your courage.

I liked Courage of Sarah Noble because it showed how much courage Sarah had in her and it shows what life was life back on those days. I did not like this book because Sarah was mean to the Indians at first. It gets better after that part of the book, though. I also did not like the way Sarah's mother said the Indians were savages. Besides that it is a good book. I think you should read it.
