I enjoyed this book tremendously. I gave it 5 stars because I finished this book in 2 days. It was like a movie in my head and I could not put it down. I would recommend this fun book to my friends and family.

I enjoyed this. The protagonist is a bit muddled and along for the ride for a good portion of the story, but there are reasons for that. It's obviously a set up for future volumes, but it was done right. I read eagerly and curiously, genuinely interested in where the story would go.
High fantasy and a non-traditional take on elvenkind.
I do hope that future installments give us more of the supporting cast.

compelling and gripping I couldn't put it down until I was done. The story is thrilling and lead me to suspend my disbelief long enough to become a part of the world the author created. I loved every minute of this book and cant wait to rad more.

Amazing amazing story! And so original! I'm so glad I read this one! It was so original and fascinating! The author did a great job keeping the story interesting and unpredictable with outstanding world-building and well developed characters! I recommend this one for sure!

I just finished reading Frey and I really enjoyed it. I was sort of surprised when it ended, it didn't have the typical buildup to a climax of most novels but that didn't detract from the book itself.
I think it's cover doesn't do it justice and it could still use a tiny bit of editing, but overall it was relatively polished. I am absolutely not sorry that I read it and I immediately bought the sequel so that I can continue the story.

The story is captivating. It jumps a bit, not flowing as smoothly as it might, but that may be an artifact of what Frey is going through more than any failure of the author. It has me wanting to move on to the next volume.
In the story.
In the story.

Frey will hook you pretty quickly. It will keep you reading when you should be sleeping. I admired how the author tied everything together so neatly. Going straight into book two. So refreshing to read.

Loved Frey, Cheverly, and the others in their little group. The book kept my attention and I couldn't set it down. I read the book all the way through in a couple hours! I'm excited to see how the second book goes to continue Freys story

Good read but the final battle disappointed me although it ended properly, that is it did not end as a cliffhanger , still worth reading and maybe the next also to see if the author improves, editing was good,

The author spends so much time introducing different personalities and building up the world that she seems to have lost sight that she needs to tell a real story, not just send someone on a road trip. That said, the characters are weak and two-dimensional.

This a very good beginning to this saga. The plot is interesting and full of twists and turns. At times it lulled you into believing you knew the answer to this riddle of a book. But wow, just WOW!

The overall concept was good- would have been a great young adult fantasy romance, but too many conventions thrown in. And the whole half unmagical human makes me stronger bit doesn't make the story stronger.

Not a great read. The main character has memory issues (her memory has been blocked) and no one around her ever explains anything to her. Ever. It gets really annoying and confusing to the point that I completely lost interest.

It bugs me, that there is so much secrecy regarding the lead character. There was nothing in the first installment which answered anything. We know she has ability, we know in some way she may or may not be dangerous.she is however obviously loved by people. Sooo I need to read more. I think the author planned it this way, or maybe her editor....

Enjoyable reading, ended abruptly, have to get book 2 to continue this tale. Creative world building needed to have more background on the various characters, elves, Faires and how they interact with humans and the magical world created in Frey.

I found the plot somewhat confusing, and not in a the-protagonist-doesn't-know-what's-going-on-so-neither-does-the-reader kind of way. Too many mysterious situations and characters for my taste. Perhaps it all gets cleared up in subsequent books, but I wasn't intrigued enough to want to read on.

This was a good book, not outstanding but still an entertaining, light read. Aside from the use of magic, it is easy to forget the characters are elves throughout much of the story. It is not a fantastic fantasy. The main character, Frey, is someone I can cheer for, but some of the others aren't very memorable. There aren't any unexpected twists or turns and it didn't leave me chomping at the bit for more, but I would still read another in the series.

Ms Wright begins telling her story and does not bog down with pages upon pages of explication, but instead allows background and backstory to unfold over the course of telling her heroine's adventure. As Frey learns more of her own true history and nature the reader is eased into the bounds and rules if the fantasy realm wherein the tale unfolds. It works, and the reader is left wanting more.

First, I'd like to say that I was in love with the cover, it isn't really great, but the simple design, the lettering, the color, it just makes it so delicious to a hungry reader's eyes..:D
At first, the book started slow for me, but as the story progresses and the information are getting clear, I found myself in an unending ladder of excitement and twists.
The author weaved this story wonderfully. The descriptions are vivid. Ms. Wright's writing style is something I never experienced before, she makes the story a bit complicated and after a few pages, you would say, "so, that's it!!!, that's the reason!". It's a great book, when a reader is always thinking what would happen next and this is what happened to me with "Frey".
The characters are developed well and really likable. I could definitely feel with them. I enjoyed reading each of their backstories which lead me to understand and loved them more. They are the kind of characters which would leave marks in your heart even long after you read the book.
I loved Freya/Elfreda a lot. Although I think this is a weakness of the book since the heroine (I think) is not strong enough to be considered a heroine. She always faints and rely on others to solve the problems. Meanwhile I feel her pain, her sufferings and I root for her, would be by her side til the end of her journey..:D >I wish to see her become the strong and great heroine that she really is in the next books..
The story is fast-paced; wherein the story never lies low, there's always something to uncover and be excite about.
I was frustrated, saddened, thrilled, angered and hopeful. This is a roller-coaster ride I wouldn't dare miss out. I am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series..:)
Packed with fantasy; elves, fairies and magical powers, Frey is a book I'd highly recommend!

Good read, too long on fluff/intro then just stops to send you into waiting for next book. That's alright if you like that kind of thing. I thougt I was getting a stand alone anyway not the beginning of a series! It is what it is...

Like most books I've been reading, and reviewing...this book has some spelling errors/typos but you've got to start somewhere.
This book is quite enjoyable to me. I like the turns they took, and even though Frey is a bit ignorant at times..the book is still catching. Who knows how we would handle ourselves if we were there!
Team Steed, even though I know Chevelle and her are meant to be! =P

A fantasy based book about elves/pixies; however, this book had a lot of other magical creatures too. The main characters are Freya and Cheville. Their relationship is a complete puzzle until the end of this book. In fact, the storyline got all twisted and confusing towards the end; however, I hope after reading the next book the plot will be clear.

I liked this story. Paranormal is one of my favorite genres. I will not buy any though.
I can get so many free that unless I can pick them up at my library on loan or it turns up as a free book on my book burst list I will pass on the next one.
